We are leaving in a little over a week and some of the reviews I have read have been very negative. Any advice? We need only pay 25.00 change fee to change resorts. Thanks!

We stayed at Liki Tiki in 2009 and couldn't fault it.

We had a 1 bedroom apartment on the ground floor that was very close to one of the pools so it was ideal. They do have a larger pool onsite with slides etc but we didn't use it. We found the apartment facilities exceeded what we needed as we didn't do any cooking, just basic cereal etc for breakfast. There was also a washer and dryer in the bathroom area which was extremely handy. The only thing we could have done with was a few more hangers in the closet. They only gave us 5 between the 2 of us :rotfl:

If you go down Sherbeth Rd to get to Disney it's only a 10 minute drive and Walmart is only 10 minutes in the other direction off Highway 27.

My only negative was their internet access was rubbish. 2 computers in a small room with very slow dial up service. Took me best part of 15 minutes to access my emails.

Don't worry too much about negative reviews on other sites, people only tend to comment if they have had a bad experience imho. We found this to be a great base for our 2 week trip and would definitely stay there again. Infact we are thinking of using them for next years trip if the price is right.

Oh, people can be so negative. :confused3

It's not the fanciest place in the world but it's fine. We stayed there in 2008 and we're staying there again in 2012. Again - it's not the fanciest - it's not a Disney resort. But with that said it's fine and great for kids (and I have 4 - if you don't have kids you may not want to stay here).

The "waterpark" will keep them busy - there there's a playground. It was close to the parks and overall it was fine (again we're going back but we know what to expect). Again - the word I keep using is "fine" because that's what it is - if you get in the newer section it's a bit better than fine -

Hope that helps.

We don't have kids. It was just me and DB.

I think we were in the newer section. We only used it as a base as we were out most of the time at the parks or shopping. We used the pool a few times and it was pretty quiet while we were there.

I have never stayed there, but my Dental Hygienist, whom I have known since 1993, owns there. She goes every year and loves it. She has 2 young children (ages 8 & 12). Most of the time they don't even do the parks, they just do their week at the resort. We live 3 hours from there so for them, that is their escape for a week. They love the pools & the units.. she has never complained. I have told her that if she was to not use it for a year, I would rent it from her, but she always uses it..

Thanks for this!! I have decided not to drive myself crazy, we are not a fancy group just want a clean place to stay and a pool to swim in!! I think sometimes I over research and no matter what type of place there will always be some that have negative things to say! Thanks again!

I have stayed there twice in 2000 without kids and in 2005 with kids. We stayed in the newest building as they had no record of our res. It was very clean and fine for the kids who were 4 at the time. They enjoyed the water area on the days we weren't at Disney. We rented a car and did groceries to save money. I think we paid 1000.00 for 9 days. I wouldn't say it was bad at all. It was great to have laundry and cheaper to cook at home a few meals. At the time it worked out very well for us being on a budget. This time we are at AKL and have stayed at POFQ but they cost a great deal more especially during the holidays. Enjoy your trip.

Thanks for the info, we are just going to hope for the best!! I believe there are some that just cant be pleased, we need the space as there is 6 of us. We have stayed in many other townhomes/condos and I am not sure I could go back to a standard hotel room. Love the room to spread out and relax after long days, washer/dryer, full kitchen. I will update once we return
