Likelihood of balcony or upgrade?

We are staying at PBH in Nov next year, and have booked a bay view room, non smoking. We would really like a balcony, how successful have other people been in getting this at check in? Does it make any difference if you write/fax before? Do many people get upgrades? Would love to hear your experiences and your advice!

I think your odds are pretty good Deb. PB does'nt book out like HRH and RPH does and you are more likely to get your requests. You could get an upgrade to a DeL room from what you have booked. If your loews gold or higher you qualify for a suite upgrade for $35. I recommend no faxing or writing. I recommend you call 407-503-1000 (direct into PBH) ask to speak to guest services and make your request. They are very friendly and want to make your trip wonderful and if they can give you the balcony they most certainly will. They also have terraces available which are slightly bigger. Out of all the rooms they only have 22 w/balconies. I suggest you make the call NOW to g/s and again 45 days prior to your arrival. I have had success many times getting ALL my request by doing this.

Thanks, I'll do that and keep my fingers crossed! When I booked the room they took my preference for non smoking, but said that I would just have to ask for a balcony room when we checked in!Do they allocate rooms on arrival or before? If it's done on arrival we'll try and check in earlier!
