I hereby award a Purple Heart to that'snice!!!! He has gone above and beyond the call of duty to his fellow Soldier #1, and shown exemplary service in action.

Soldier #1 has absolutely NO experience in the making and deploying of "really cool rotating banners", and had to call upon this brave and undaunted fellow compatriot for some much needed help.

In a matter of mere minutes, and only 5 PM's, the "really cool rotating banner" was successfully launched and is now fully operational.

Therefore, laud and appreciation are heaped upon this Soldier, as he quickly and respectfully answered the call- even when Soldier #1 had told him she felt as dumb as a frog fart for not being able to do this without aid.

THANKS, Tim~~

So without further ado, my list of top 10's for The Magic Kingdom are:

1) Spend WAY more time on Main Street USA- shopping, taking pictures, taking in the subtle theming details and little extras here.

I'd LOVE to do this. I always rush through this area with my kids. I think I should put that on my list for December.

2) Ride Splash, Jungle Cruise and BTMRR at night

I would also suggest the Haunted Mansion at night. It was so cool!

4) Ride the no-namers like the Liberty Belle and climb the Swiss Family Treehouse (by the way, if you haven't seen that movie in a while, it's a good one. We had it sent over and watched it last week- great for the whole family!)

We love this movie!

6) Visit Toontown before its demise

I was so sad about that when I visited it in October!!

9) Arrive by boat, ferry, and monorail

I love the boat!!

10) Eat a Dole Whip Float and at Caseys (maybe even twice!) ;)

Yum!! Dole Whip! (Gotta try Caseys)

:)

It was a very rare, yet quite disastrously unfortunate culinary attempt ...:scared:

I got an A for effort, and a dinner out. (and I was only 22).

Gosh, Bekka. You have aged! :rotfl:

Moving along with our mini-series of Must-do's/ Must-see's for each park and resort we'll be at... I'm going to approach it with an order from most favorite park to least. That's not to say I don't like them all in their own right, but well, MK will always hold a special place in my heart, as it is the one that brings back so many happy memories for me as a child growing up.

So without further ado, my list of top 10's for The Magic Kingdom are:

1) Spend WAY more time on Main Street USA- shopping, taking pictures, taking in the subtle theming details and little extras here.

2) Ride Splash, Jungle Cruise and BTMRR at night

3) See Spectro

4) Ride the no-namers like the Liberty Belle and climb the Swiss Family Treehouse (by the way, if you haven't seen that movie in a while, it's a good one. We had it sent over and watched it last week- great for the whole family!)

5) Ride the re-hab'd Space Mountain. I haven't ridden this in years, because the track is so jerky that the last few times have given me a huge headache that wrecked the rest of my day. Maybe they'll smooth the track, and give us a better ride?

6) Visit Toontown before its demise

7) Find a whole bunch of Hidden Mickeys I haven't seen yet

8) Take photos of a bunch of hidden gems that I've learned about over the last year- especially in Liberty Square and Frontier Land.

9) Arrive by boat, ferry, and monorail

10) Eat a Dole Whip Float and at Caseys (maybe even twice!) ;)

Ok...So...

Do I post my TOP 10 for the MK - or for MY favorite Park? Which may shock you guys. :confused3

even better . . . . . you apparently taught Leisa how to post the elusive invisible rotating banner :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: a mighty feat indeed!

Hilarious!

Here's two other must-do's for the MK for us:

Ride the train from Main Street and all the way back around to Main Street

Ride the TTA...I hear there's a new spiel and that saddens me! :guilty:

I love the top 10 list. I too want to get in some Toontown time before it's gone, and want to get lots of pics of Toontown and Fantasyland before it's forever changed. I wish I had done that in Tomorrowland before the update.

/
I lost today... I'm up with Juliana.. At least she slept till 7:20 today!:woohoo:

I know I'm a major influence since I'm with her every day. But I honestly can't think of where this came from! LOL

RUT ROH! Not a good experience huh?:sad2:

Maybe you should just post as Bekka... get her post count up!!!!:rotfl:

Hey, that's a great idea!! She's so much younger, in great shape, and can get out of bed each morning without groaning about her neck and back!! :lmao:

1) Good idea! If you don't have time to do this when you are with the TC3, you can take the time while you are by yourself.

I like that!
2)I never rode these at night... hummm,... maybe I need to make a new list?:confused3

I have once or twice, and it's a totally different experience! I love it! Although, I've never been lucky enough to catch any during the fireworks.
3)One word---> YES!

4)I might be skipping these in March.. but I think you are going to have at least 3-4 MK days on your trip. That's enough time to hit these.

I think that's about right.

5)I doubt the whole track will be rehabbed. I'll have a report for you when I get back!

You're probably right, but I'll try it once, but later in the day, in case the track still sucks.

6)Another YES! Before it goes buh-bye!:wave2:

It's more than likely my last chance, for sure.

7)Did you get the HM book? There are a lot of HMs to be found out there!

I've had it for months. Makes great bathroom reading- indoors or out.

8)You know we all are going to want to see lots of pictures! Plus then you can tease your family with them too! LOL:lmao:

That, you will get! And you know I love to do that! :lmao:

9)You missed a few. By foot and plane!!! (Maybe it is too early:confused3)

Likely not enough coffee. Or sugar.

10)MMMMMmmmmmmm... I didn't know you are a FLOAT kinda of gal. Gota love the Float!

Floats ARE the best!!! I think I WILL do more than one of these!

Some how I check your PTRs before I even check mine! Time to see what's up with mine.

You sound like me and the many other "high maintenance ones I've gotten myself into! ;) I hope you counted your own as one (Got that from Cherie![/

UMMMMMMM i didn't do that good.:sad2::sad2:

I CAN'T SEE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!:confused3
YOu did great!!

I went back to my "sent" box, and found the code still there. Thank Heavens, cuz I had already deleted my inbox stuff, and I went back to Mickeypath, and couldn't find the code AT ALL!! Now if I could just get the little extra url thingy out of there. But I'm afraid to touch ANYTHING, lest it toy around with me again and disappear again.

Yeah, I thought it was funny too. Funny business!

even better . . . . . you apparently taught Leisa how to post the elusive invisible rotating banner :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: a mighty feat indeed!

You're a gas, lady!! I swear, when I went to siggie preview, it REALLY was there!

Ok...So...

Do I post my TOP 10 for the MK - or for MY favorite Park? Which may shock you guys. :confused3

Hilarious!

Post whatever you want... be free, my friend, be freeeee.... :hippie:

Here's two other must-do's for the MK for us:

Ride the train from Main Street and all the way back around to Main Street

Ride the TTA...I hear there's a new spiel and that saddens me! :guilty:

I love the train. Tim likes it now, too, except that they don't allow crazy dancing on it either. I don't know how he survived.

I adore the TTA!!! I'll be posting a anally specific itinerary as I get closer, and park hours are out, and we get those ADR's made. Trust me, there will be very little lacking.

I love the top 10 list. I too want to get in some Toontown time before it's gone, and want to get lots of pics of Toontown and Fantasyland before it's forever changed. I wish I had done that in Tomorrowland before the update.

In a lot of ways, I am glad they are doing away with Toontown. I just doesn't float my boat, so much. But I know I'll regret it, if I don't take some photos...

Leisa,

Did you see my comments? They were inside of your quote in green. I just put that smiley face because it wouldn't let me post without something outside of the quote. I didn't want you to think I was laughing at you~

Ok...I guess I will stay with the MK theme!

Technically the MK is my favorite park - at night! ;)

Which will be apparent when you see my top 10.

1. Wishes. :cloud9: It would not hurt my feelings if we watched it every single night! (Of course, we won't...just sayin'!)

2. Spectro!!!!! I love this parade!

3. Ride Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain Railroad, Jungle Cruise and Dumbo at night. I would also like to ride the TTA and that Astro ride at night. I have never ridden the Astro ride - it is not handicapped accessible! (Neither is the TTA.)

4. Eat an Ice Cream Sandwich in the heat of the day.

5. Ride BUZZ about 3 times in a row. Until my arms get tired. I love that ride!

6. Philharmagic!

7. I can't believe this is 7...Peter Pan! I love Peter Pan.

8. Ride the train. Except for that magical morning - I have never ridden the train. So I have never ridden the train all the way around. And since I rode it with Lucas and Mickey Mouse :cloud9: - I didn't pay attention - at all - where I was going.

9. Casey's Hot Dog. It better be a "real" hot dog. Yum!

10. Goofy's Candy Co

And since I didn't really use my 10 on DTD...here are some bonus ones.

Honorable Mentions:

Sit on the ground on the Hub after the big crowd has cleared out. Take pictures of the castle at night with no one around. :cloud9: I did this on my last trip - but I want to do it again.

Walk through Mickey and Minnie's House - It may be the last chance I get before they move them? Or remove them?

See the Fairies.

Ride Space Mountain!

Ok...Now I can go back and read yours...I had to skip them so I would not cheat!

Ahh... This sounds nice!

2) Ride Splash, Jungle Cruise and BTMRR at night

You stole mine. Didn't we talk about this? I had a few extras on mine, though. :rolleyes1

3) See Spectro

This was totally at the top of my list, too!

4) Ride the no-namers like the Liberty Belle and climb the Swiss Family Treehouse (by the way, if you haven't seen that movie in a while, it's a good one. We had it sent over and watched it last week- great for the whole family!)

EEK. I guess if you will go with me in the World of Disney I will do the Swiss Family Treehouse. :rotfl:

5) Ride the re-hab'd Space Mountain. I haven't ridden this in years, because the track is so jerky that the last few times have given me a huge headache that wrecked the rest of my day. Maybe they'll smooth the track, and give us a better ride?

I will ride it for us in December. And January. And March.....and let you know how jerky it is.

6) Visit Toontown before its demise

Totally on my list, too!

7) Find a whole bunch of Hidden Mickeys I haven't seen yet

That would be fun!

8) Take photos of a bunch of hidden gems that I've learned about over the last year- especially in Liberty Square and Frontier Land.

You are going to have to do a whole post on this...I have no idea what you are referring to??

9) Arrive by boat, ferry, and monorail

GOOD! That means we have to go at least...wait...

What is the difference between a boat and a ferry? Isn't a ferry a boat? :confused3

10) Eat a Dole Whip Float and at Caseys (maybe even twice!) ;)

Hmph. I will eat my ice cream sandwhich while you guys get a Dole Whip! :snooty:

Did I miss posting about DTD :confused3

Maroo while sliding down to post about DTD - I read your post -

ICE CREAM SANDWICH??? No Mickey Bar for you???

I am going to have to go back 3 pages to get caught up and then post a top 10 - with the preview of MICKEY BARS

(Thanks T3 for letting me play!!)

Ok...I guess I will stay with the MK theme!

Technically the MK is my favorite park - at night! ;)

Which will be apparent when you see my top 10.

1. Wishes. :cloud9: It would not hurt my feelings if we watched it every single night! (Of course, we won't...just sayin'!) If you are going to watch it every night then one night you need to ride Splash Mountain during Wishes. The top hill gives you a great view of the park and the fireworks!

2. Spectro!!!!! I love this parade! We originally saw this on our honeymoon many moons ago and then saw it when it moved to DL and I am glad it is back home!

3. Ride Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain Railroad, Jungle Cruise and Dumbo at night. I would also like to ride the TTA and that Astro ride at night. I have never ridden the Astro ride - it is not handicapped accessible! (Neither is the TTA.) These are great ay night!

4. Eat an Ice Cream Sandwich in the heat of the day.

5. Ride BUZZ about 3 times in a row. Until my arms get tired. I love that ride!

6. Philharmagic! Great show!

The back side that you missed has some great special scenes and Indians. Stay on past the Frontierland exit.

I don't think I would sit on the ground, but I would take pictures of the empty area around the castle.

Walk through Mickey and Minnie's House - It may be the last chance I get before they move them? Or remove them? This is a must do! Take pictures of everything!

See the Fairies. It is worth the wait, but I would try to go about 30 minutes before Toon Town is scheduled to open since it often opens early.

Ride Space Mountain!
It will be fun to see how this ride is changed!

I think that everyone's top tens look great! It should be a fantastic trip!
:cheer2:

play checkers!!!!!

2) Ride Splash, Jungle Cruise and BTMRR at night

TTA ain't bad either.

3) See Spectro

Really?

4) Ride the no-namers like the Liberty Belle and climb the Swiss Family Treehouse (by the way, if you haven't seen that movie in a while, it's a good one. We had it sent over and watched it last week- great for the whole family!)

One of my fave movies when I was younger!

Not much done during the rehab. Hopefully, the track is smoother

6) Visit Toontown before its demise

7) Find a whole bunch of Hidden Mickeys I haven't seen yet

8) Take photos of a bunch of hidden gems that I've learned about over the last year- especially in Liberty Square and Frontier Land.

ferry!!! boat!!! so fun!

I like your list. It's so ADULT!

It's also realistic and achievable!

Yeah, definitely geared towards adult fun. There's a lot more I want to do, but the ones I listed here are the top things. I think it will be easy to knock this stuff off- esp. without having to cater to the whims of kids in tow.

Leisa,

Did you see my comments? They were inside of your quote in green. I just put that smiley face because it wouldn't let me post without something outside of the quote. I didn't want you to think I was laughing at you~

When I tried to quote you responses imbedded into my text, it wouldn't let me, so everthing got erased except the smilie. Doofus, I know...

Why is it that Main Street is so overlooked?? There's so much there to explore, and even going as a kid a bazillion times, I've never been to... Kids just don't enjoy it, and it seems we're always pandering to them. NOT THIS TRIP!!

Yes, HM at night; but even better, we'll be doing it during MNSSHP!

Toontown/ New Fantasyland?? Does anyone know WHEN that will go bye-bye?? How about the timetable for the new F.L. to be opened??

OK. boat vs. ferry...

I was talking about the boats being the little launches that go from resort to resort and resort to MK. The ferry is the gigantor "paddle wheel" that only goes from the TTC to MK.

Once is plenty, but if we happened to be around for it twice, I may opt to hit my night time rides instead.

2. Spectro!!!!! I love this parade!

Haven't seen it yet, hence it being on my list. Normally, I'm not a parade-y type (esp. the 3:00) and avoid them like the plague!

3. Ride Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain Railroad, Jungle Cruise and Dumbo at night. I would also like to ride the TTA and that Astro ride at night. I have never ridden the Astro ride - it is not handicapped accessible! (Neither is the TTA.)

I'd like to do the Astro at night!! If the line isn't too long. TTA DEFINITELY

4. Eat an Ice Cream Sandwich in the heat of the day.

You do that...

5. Ride BUZZ about 3 times in a row. Until my arms get tired. I love that ride!

LOVE me some Buzz!!!

6. Philharmagic!

and Phil!

It's very relaxing, and there's actually some fun stuff to see- like TG says, especially past the Fr. L station...

9. Casey's Hot Dog. It better be a "real" hot dog. Yum!

sure better be!!

10. Goofy's Candy Co
I thought Goofy's was at DTD. Do you mean the Confectionary??? I hear they give out free fudge samples sometimes...:rolleyes1

The Kiss Goodnight is fabulous!

Walk through Mickey and Minnie's House - It may be the last chance I get before they move them? Or remove them?

I doubt they'll be moved, just removed...

See the Fairies.

I think you may be on your own here girlie.
Ride Space Mountain!

I love Peter Pan too..for us this is a fast-pass must-do!

I didn't really list out EVERy ride, since I think we probably really end up doing it all, just the general things I don't want to miss- kinda to set the tone of the trip. Everything else is gravy..

Yes, go back about 4 or 5 pages?? or there's a link to TOC on first page to TOC pt. 2.

We love it when you come out to play!!

1) Spend WAY more time on Main Street USA- shopping, taking pictures, taking in the subtle theming details and little extras here.

play checkers!!!!!

I think we could do this!!!

2) Ride Splash, Jungle Cruise and BTMRR at night

TTA ain't bad either.

That's a given!

3) See Spectro

Really?

Really. I have never seen it, and figure I should at least once. Maybe it will make me cry like MS Electrical did. :confused3

4) Ride the no-namers like the Liberty Belle and climb the Swiss Family Treehouse (by the way, if you haven't seen that movie in a while, it's a good one. We had it sent over and watched it last week- great for the whole family!)

One of my fave movies when I was younger!

So, fun, and exciting; in a clean sort of way. If you're uber geeky, the book is actually fantastic!!! I read it about once a year.

5) Ride the re-hab'd Space Mountain. I haven't ridden this in years, because the track is so jerky that the last few times have given me a huge headache that wrecked the rest of my day. Maybe they'll smooth the track, and give us a better ride?

Not much done during the rehab. Hopefully, the track is smoother

I hope so. I love a good coaster, but not one that makes my neck feel like I went to a bad chiropractor!

6) Visit Toontown before its demise

7) Find a whole bunch of Hidden Mickeys I haven't seen yet

8) Take photos of a bunch of hidden gems that I've learned about over the last year- especially in Liberty Square and Frontier Land.

9) Arrive by boat, ferry, and monorail

ferry!!! boat!!! so fun!

One from TTC, and maybe several from resorts...;)

10) Eat a Dole Whip Float and at Caseys (maybe even twice!)

:goodvibes

Hey now... Don't be hatin' on my Spectro! ;) :rotfl: I love me some Spectro. :)

Nothing against it here, but maybe not more than once for me.

I love the list!

speaking of space mountain....

I love the ride but only if I'm not in front, because if that's where I am, I spend the entire ride ducking so I don't hit something and become decapitated in the dark.

If i'm in the back, I'll hear the scream and have time to duck..

I think I need help.

I love Spectro! It's more than just a parade...considering the only parades I'd experienced were "small town" ones...I was in awe the first time I saw it.
