a different pot of gold.....

Yesterday, I noticed my little, yet biggest pain in the patootie ticky-tocker, (thanks again, Tim! maybe I should set up a rotating on-call tech support team to help me out when our plans change again. (You do all remember that all is in flux until it's paid for, and even then, maybe not :lmao:)- GB, Jordy, watch those PM boxes- (not that only guys can do this sort of stuff, but I haven't heard any gals mention that they can do this, and well, those guys tend to be up at my odd hours, (Isn't this fun to see how many parenthetical phrases I can stick into one paragraph??))) says it's time for a little self-promotion.

Now, if you got through that confusing bit of poor writing, let's move onto the business at hand.

Moving up in rank from Sergeants to Sergeant Majors!!

This is the highest ranking for enlisted soldiers and according to Wiki, "carries with it certain ceremonial functions such as caring for the unit's colors (flag). Additionally, they serve as monitors for, and advocates of, the enlisted men in the command. This position exists in units of battalion size and larger."

I like that, as it is due and proper time for the TC3 to begin thinking more seriously about it's "colors", also known as matching T-shirts, costumes, and the like. Do we care about such things? Ummm, yeah, we are ladies of high fashion and distinction.

As for monitors and advocates? Well, what I can say is that we've been monitoring the possibilities and have put out many recruiting calls, and several "are thinking about it...". Trust us, if we have a battalion sized group that comes with us, we will definitely be advocates for you!!

"Ceremonial functions"?? Got that covered too!! We've got the MK flag ceremony, the Poly torch lighting ceremony, the trolley show ceremony, the Muppets show ceremony, the Hoop de View, er, I mean Hoop de Doo sangria fest/napkin twirling ceremony, and the put our feet up on the TTA ceremony all to look forward to and/or preside over.

Sergeant Major 7 signing off...

Go BEKKA Go BEKKA!!!!!

You better make more quilts to pay for that next Poly trip!!!!!

At least this thread hasn't gone down the tubes....yet!

Yes thank you!

I might have to add it to the list.

You can't go wrong with the potty humor apparently.popcorn::

I'm so stuck on this one (quilt)- don't have the right fabric to finish it up. Ah well.... maybe I can try online??

Well, I can see that this thread "goes down the tubes (or pipes) all too often. I write up a post, and come back to this:

a different pot of gold.....

Only if it comes with shoes...

By the way, speaking of bombs... I just (and I do mean just) learned of a horrible tragedy that happened here yesterday...

Our city is recently putting in new natural gas lines and folks are switching out to gas furnaces. A brand new hotel that many adopting foreigners stay at got blown to pieces!!1 It is actually right across the street from our office. That is what happens when there is no inspection and sub-quality parts are being used, I guess. I don't know if any foreigners were involved but I did hear at least 7 people were killed. :sad1: Now, my househelper is saying that a private house also went up yesterday.

I can sniff out potty talk anywhere.

Welcome to the nightly fray...

winkers......

Oh Liesa, that's horrible!

Well, I wasn't going to replace "sub-quality" with Chinese, but if I were to be totally honest, that's where the furnaces are coming from. Added to no inspections, and a bribery system firmly rooted, this is what you get...

so true.

How scary!

When I was in East Asia. they were doing alot of building...it was scary!

The building boom is nearly played out here, as the banks realized that a free for all credit system wasn't such a great idea. HA!! Interesting how it took years for the US to figure that out, and about 6 months for our place to do so. Now, the banks are giving VERY few loans out. (insert screeching tires sound here.)

that's so sad!

It really is! I'm dying to know if any of the adopting foreigners were there.

Oh Liesa, that's horrible!

I know!! DH says when it happened there were tons of emergency personnel there doing what they could.

When will they learn...:sad2:

She's a funny one, that girl! Love her to pieces!:cloud9: Someday, we're going to the Poly TOGETHER.... hmmmm.... now how to pay for it? :confused3

Love you too!! :lovestruc Knowing you, you'll take the money out of my collage fund. :rotfl2:

Go BEKKA Go BEKKA!!!!!

Well, I probably won't take it out of your "collage" fund, but I might out of your "COLLEGE" fund. ;)

Yes, there will have to be, since you are solely responsible for my trip bling. :lmao: Coordinated jewelry for every outfit and occasion :woohoo:

I got tired so I went to be at a decent hour last night.... WHERE IS THE SLEEPING SMILEY?:confused3

What happened to that building was terrible.. I hope no one was seriously hurt.:sad2:

Leisa, I'll help you get that url out of your siggy. I'll make it disappear just like I did with you rotating banner! :)
