Although, not very classy, potty humor makes me laugh; my DH always knows to exit when I burst out laughing out of the blue. I've been told I'm about as mature as a 7 year old in this dept. There's something so carnal about it.

a few years ago I was in walmart with my mom and younger brother. My mom is the prim and proper type who never passes gas and would die before admiting to it. My brother is the exact opposite.

The 3 of us were standing in an aisle when suddenly there was a semi loud "phttt".

I knew it had to be my brother, but I just had to tease my mom.

So, somewhat loudly I said "ewww, MOM!"

Instead of laughing and saying "yeah, right!" she turned bright red and scurried away.

I looked at my brother and he was bent over going in hysterics...he finally managed to get ahold of himself long enough to tell me that it had been Mom!

We were laughing so hard we nearly had to leave the store.

I felt bad because I had embarassed her, but oh it was so funny.

I looked at my brother and he was bent over going in hysterics...he finally managed to get ahold of himself long enough to tell me that it had been Mom!

Maroo, I wanted to tell you that I clicked on your link in your siggie to go back and read about Lauren's wish trip. OH MY GOSH you kept me in tears. I'm not quite finished yet, but I just wanted to tell you how much it moved me. I'd never read about a wish trip before. Lauren is a really special person - and so are you!

And I really mean that!! It is always very, very fun to get new readers to add to the zany fun we have here. As the weeks and months go by we'll be playing some fun games, needing lots of your help, as we navigate the mine-fields of Disney planning (ie. lack of park hours and ADR system guesswork ), and just generally pass the time together as a group of folks who loves all things Disney (and a whole lot more).

We hope you stop by often! Most of the action seems to happen in the evenings around 8:00-10:00 Pacific Time, but we do get some VERY late nighters from the righthand side of the map too. Meantime, enjoy!

Ohhh, that's a great one!!! We do that all the time, but never around DH, who's a lot like your mom. Ah, well, we all need to have sort of checks and balance.

Good morning- er, I mean evening! That was pretty mean, but hilariously funny too!! I don't care who I'm with or where I'm at, I can never keep a straight face- even if I'm by myself in a room. I think the Good Lord had a pretty funny sense of humor when he came up with that particular function.

maroo's constantly going the extra mile!!! It's a good thing to have her on YOUR side; if you make her mad through injustice, WATCH OUT. maroo, you should have been a lawyer or maybe you should go to Washington and lobby.

Good Moooooooooooooorning Blank-A-Stan.....

A new enemy has surfaced this weekend causing great distress among the ranks. Well, 2, actually...

The newest "7 Family" Enemy is the neighborhood sewer system. EWWWWW!!! Okay, so the city just went through and finished paving our road, and we're pretty sure they didn't put a manhole cover over a critical hole; remember to properly minefield the city, manholes are only optional. The soldiers themselves frequently remove them to finance their own spoils of war around here, like more vodka or a new cell phone. So, with asphalt plugging up the street, the manhole itself is brim full!! I'll leave that to you own imaginations. Somewhere, there is an aromatic ooze bomb sliming out somewhere, and for once, we are thankful it is NOT onto our territory!!! Sadly, someone in our neighborhood (the lowest in elevation) is bearing the brunt of this. So, now we will have to spend the day calling, and calling, and calling, and calling (you get the idea) for someone with a pooper pumper truck to suck out this most incredibly disgusting of enemy devices of warfare!!

I don't know about your weekends, but mine was actually pretty productive, and sewage wasn't the only thing that was stinking up the place. My househelper ( you do know you all have househelpers too, right, but they come in the form of pre-ground meat (the butcher), fast food resaurant workers, clothes dryers, vacuum cleaners, etc...) came home with a 10 pound head of Chinese cabbage. I only needed about 1 pound for using in a stir fry. So, what's a good soldier to do with 10 pounds of Chinese cabbage- ummm, preserve it, of course. Do you know what preserved Chinese or "Napa" cabbage is called? Kim Chee!!! Yep, The Major General (me) spent a while chopping and spicing 10 pounds of cabbage to be left to fermenting and stinking up the house for the weekend. Ever smelled fermenting KimChee. I had a roommate at UC Irvine one year, and we made her get her own fridge cuz her KimChee stunk so bad. Funny how something that smells so vile can actually taste ok.

Hope they get the sewage cleaned out soon, I'm the only one who eats in these parts.

Now, onto pre-trip planning...

I spent the rest of the weekend trying to decide where we're going to go next with our fun here. I also worked on a few little gifty type items, but can't share those, since they will be given to a certain someone who lurks around here sometimes. But, if we could make her promise to not look here for a couple of days, then I could....

Also had a night (yes, practically a whole night of insomnia) and wisely used it to refine the plans a bit. Things are certainly coming together nicely there.

Now, onto more pressing issues. An army engaged in a conflict certainly feels compelled to scout certain things out. This usually the responsibility of those in command, and might include a few of the following: the weaponry of the enemy force, possible strongholds of the opposition, transportation lines and methods, secret maneuvers, communication tactics, and a host of others. A General must carefully observe and discover the nuances that makes up his enemy (oops, typed enema there at first, aren't you glad I fixed that?- I guess that's on my brain, since that's what our manhole needs right now).

By now, you have guessed that at this point, I'll say that the TC3 is much in the same situation. In order to fully enjoy their conquered territory they will have to spend much time figuring out what their first priorities are in their newly occupied land of freedom. What is important to tackle first? What have they been waiting to see/ do/ enjoy most? Let's spend a while going over our lists of our TOP 10 Must see's/do's to while away the weeks. WEEKS?! WEEKS? you say? Well, remember we are hoping that maroo will post her's as well! And there are several parks, and (for me) 3 resorts, and DTD even too. Speaking of Downtown Disney, I want to start there. It's by tradition the first place I start my trip at. I love it there, and have yet to even see most of it. So, here it goes; my list of Must do's for DTD:

1) Eat somewhere there (sorry, I'm reserving the name for future game fun- remember that, it will help you later.)

2) Shop at Basin- Thanks, TK for that little gem of info.

3) Get a special souvenir at Once Upon a Toy Story (specifics also reserved for future installment)

4) Get a choco covered Rice Krispy Treat at Goofy's

5) Pick up some Legos for my kiddos

6) Take the boat over there from POR!

7) Wander through the 2/3 of it I haven't seen yet (ie, the defunct PI area)

8) Browse around in the Christmas and Kitchen and Arribas Bros. shops

9) Stay out of World of Disney (sorry all you mega shoppers, I just don't care for this one )

10) Sample SOMETHING from Ghiradellis

11) *** Bonus*** Find a few Hidden Mickeys and grab some photos!

Well, did I miss anything?? Are there things you like to do that I've missed?? I know, I really should go into WoD, but I think this is a pretty long list, and I'd rather see new things. (Most of our time was eaten up in there last time)

Maroo?? Do you like DTD? Any favorites there??

I'm glad you had a busy weekend... although I wish you didn't have to deal with sewers. At least it isn't in your house!!

We checked out TrenD in DTD and they had a lot of clothes and other items that I haven't seen anywhere else. There are so many picture opportunities in DTD... have some fun with them!

Are you into the PINS? Check out the pin store. Even if you don't buy any, it is cool to see all the different pins.

I've never had that before...the kimchee, not the sewer,...is it similar to saurkraut?

I can't imagine a 10lb cabbage! or the stink that could cause if eaten by my boys.

Kimchee is good. The cabbage was so big that Little Sis took a sharpie and drew a face on it!! I like legos. When I was there two years ago, my brother and I found a lego snow board and a little frog in the big bins of legos we were buying legos out of. I think I would die of perfume poisoning if I went into Basin!!

I was there from 80-88. I lived in Mesa Court for 4 years, 2 of them being the RA. 84-85 I was Intern for Mesa Court. 85-86 Interim Community Programmer for Mesa. 84-87 involved in Campus Crusade. 88 worked for the Cross Cultural Center....

Yep, Mesa Court... that was me. But only for 2 quarters. There were 4 of us women in that apt. One Chinese gal, one Philipino, one Korean and me. I was quite outnumbered by the Asian domination- and loved it. Can you imagine the splendor of our refer?? (fridge, I mean, although, I can't guarantee there was not any of the other kind too).

I was there most of 1986, but moved out into an apt. for the spring/summer to work at Disney. Fun times that was!

Hmmm . . . . your list is quite comprehensive but may I suggest one small addition? You're on the dining plan, right? If you are, I think you should make a point to use at least one CS credit at Wolfgang Puck Express. We have eaten there several times on the dining plan and it is BY FAR the best CS food in all of WDW and the best value. HUGE portions, enough for leftovers or 2 adults to easily split a meal, and super-duper DELICIOUS!

I was at DL in 86...where did you work. I was in Frontierland/Adventureland Merchandise. My roommate worked Stage Door Cafe. Lots of friends worked at Plaza Inn/Plaza Pavilion.

I was a hostess in the Blue Bayou!! BEST. JOB. EVER!!! I loved it. Except on the night when my register came up like $100 short!!! They made me stay hours, and hours counting and recounting, and looking at the tape. I was constantly pushing wrong buttons on the machine, and was known to lock it up completely on occasion!! Ah, well, all good things had to come to an end and I moved back to Arizona to finish up my El. Ed. degree.

I remember having to go to the Frontierland management offices on errands once in a while. There was one Nazi N.O. Square manager who saw me one time in my blue southern belle costume and reamed me for being in Adv/ Front., on an errand that HER superior sent me on.

Another time, I went to work without a bra on. Got busted (oops, there's a nice one) for that big time. Costuming is a long way away, and you can bet I got sent there!!

Yeah, I went to mgmt shortly after that and did scheduling for Adv/Front Merch for a year before becoming a supervisor.

My friend Paige Turner worked at Blue Bayou for YEARS as a server.

1. Eat at the super secret location... which I can't even think of right now. You guys do realize this is 4 trips away for me. Dec. Jan. March then Sept. (yes, Tim won that bet!)

2. Eat something yummy at the Ghiradellis store.

3. Shop in the Christmas Store!

4. Drag Liesa to the World of Disney. (Who can go to DTD and NOT go into the World of Disney! Sheesh!)

5. I can totally go for taking a boat from the POR! That will be fun (totally stole that one from Liesa!)
