Another time, I went to work without a bra on. Got busted (oops, there's a nice one) for that big time. Costuming is a long way away, and you can bet I got sent there!! :lmao:

That's hilarious! :rotfl2: I can't believe they are that picky!!

I have a must-do at DTD after our last trip. I won't ever go again without going to get some chocolate creme brulee at Fulton's. It is without a doubt the best thing I've ever eaten!!

Wow, I have a date night with my hubby and 2 pages ensue!

My goodness...what an, uh, aromatic weekend you have had.

I have to admit. A 10 pound cabbage. I'm scared to think of how big that really is. Evan was almost 10 pounds when he was born. You had a cabbage the size of a 2 month old. EEW! I'd have found rabbits to feed. Or something. Something that was not KimChee and did not stink up my house. I'll eat cabbage, especially braised but the smell in my house, no way.

You worked at the Blue Bayou????????????? My dream college job. Tossing pizzas in the air was cool but the Blue Bayou?

Ok.

DTD.

I can honestly say I have not spent a lot of time since PI bit the dust. And the time I did spend prior to it biting the dust...didn't involve shopping!

So for me...

  • WoD just for the Kitchen section!
  • Basin
  • TrendD
  • Pins
  • Goofy's.
For me that's about it. Anything else is gravy, but not a mission.

Here's my must-do's for DTD:

get pic by the Christmas statues
pick out an ornament at the Christmas shop
get a Margarita at the Margarita Stand
get photo album and magnetic frame at World of Disney

It is about 10 hours from KY. But we could always meet in Nashville! ;)

Sewage....EWE!

You talkin' about me.....:rolleyes1
I would never look!

Just tell me when to stop and I will stay away! And what pages to avoid. I won't peek.

Ok...so top 10 thinks at DTD....Hmm.....I don't even think I have 10 things...?? How about 5? Ok - 6!

1. Eat at the super secret location... which I can't even think of right now. You guys do realize this is 4 trips away for me. :confused3 Dec. Jan. March then Sept. (yes, Tim won that bet!)

2. Eat something yummy at the Ghiradellis store.

3. Shop in the Christmas Store!

4. Drag Liesa to the World of Disney. :cool2: (Who can go to DTD and NOT go into the World of Disney! Sheesh!) :flower3:

5. I can totally go for taking a boat from the POR! That will be fun (totally stole that one from Liesa!)

6. Do the other 5 things on Liesa's list! :)

Yup, sewage. Nice.

So, Bek, could meet you in Nashville for say--Cheesecake Factory??

At some point, I won't be able to contain my secrets, and will have to post some things. But no peekies when I give the word.
:3dglasses

Your list is great!

OK, I'll go in to find Hidden Mickeys. and photos; gotta get more of those! ;)

They ARE that picky! Makeup has to be just so, only one ring (wedding), no double piercings, no tatoos showing, etc... They are definitely looking for a "wholesome" look.

I saw that on our trippie!! WOW! I am a creme brulee fanatic, and might have to pop in for some of that! Yummo!

Wow, I have a date night with my hubby and 2 pages ensue!

My goodness...what an, uh, aromatic weekend you have had.

And it just got more so. I haven't been able to shower now for 2 days!! I NEED A VACATION!!!! :scared1::eek::mad:

I agree with Winkers, could get even more aromatic in a few days... :rolleyes1

My babies were only 4 and 5 pounds, so that's makes 2 cabbages worth.

You worked at the Blue Bayou????????????? My dream college job. Tossing pizzas in the air was cool but the Blue Bayou?

Ok.

It was dream job. Monte Cristos, Cobb salads!! That job simply rocked. Back entrances, free park passes (although, I think I took advantage of that about 4 times total- I was always too tired to play after work).

DTD.

I'm afraid to start with pins- my OCD inner-self says, "do it!"; my practical side says, "do it, and you'll blow your whole wad in about 4 minutes!". Sadly, I never made it to PI. :sad2:

Here's my must-do's for DTD:

get pic by the Christmas statues
pick out an ornament at the Christmas shop
get a Margarita at the Margarita Stand
get photo album and magnetic frame at World of Disney

See, photo opps. in there. I could do that! Yes, I really want to see the Christmas shop. I have some pretty nativities and want to see what I can find in there. They do sell them there, right?

I want a MonteCristo RIGHT NOW!

Wonder if that would work with frozen french toast....

Sure it could- a jack Monte Cristo. Stuff in some ham and Swiss, and dip in an egg batter (again), and deep fry it. Voila!! A ready-made heart attack on plate for your gastronomic delight.

and then smother it with strawberry jam.

Which I don't even have in the house...

Deep fry....BLEH

One of the benefits of living in an army town is that there is an abundance of Korean food. One of my favorite little hole in the wall places has a lunch tray with Bulgogi, yakimando white rice and khim chee. (I probablly mispelled every single one of those.) It is MMMMMMMMMMMMM TASTY!

doesn't everything taste better deep fried?

Busy, busy, busy around here!

Maroo - I have a inner need to correct other people's spelling and grammar, and have to resist the urge to correct it in quoted posts. But I do resist. Most of the time. :rolleyes1

All7OfUs - how awesome that you worked at Blue Bayou!! That would be a dream job. :cloud9: Oh, and your dad is hysterical. :rotfl2:

As for DTD, I have to second trying the creme brulee at Fulton's. I had a different flavor the last time I was there, maybe key lime? But either way, it was delicious. And so are the crab claws! :thumbsup2

As for Wolfgang's, it was pretty good, but I would really like to try Earl of Sandwich. Last time we were in DTD, I tried to run in there for lunch on a Saturday, but the line was almost out the door! So that's why we went to Wolfgang Puck's.

I'm excited to explore DTD when we go too.
World of Disney is on our list, but I have two small children. We are also heading to that toy story and lego store. So you covered all I can think of. I haven't explored too much of DTD in my planning yet, so I have no suggestions-sorry.

Sorry for your smelly weekend.

I would have immediately run out and bought some- impulsive, I know. But, when a craving strikes, well, something just has to be done!

I love everything about ethnic food, but Korean is just pretty high up on the pretty decent food list! I love eating Korean style, on the floor, with chopsticks. They bring out about a zillion little dishes of various salads, big bowls of rice, (Kimchee is mandatory), and YES!!!!! my hands down favorite is bulgogi!!

The country I live in is the one in which Stalin relocated any Koreans that were living on the Soviet side of the border. He didn't want any of them to cause any problems or be the source of any uprising. A second and more practical reason for relocating them all (this was in about the 20's) was so that they could head up the rice production, for which our region is quite well known. Imagine that!!!! Growing rice in the middle of the desert!! :scared1:

Anyway, although I think the locals here have mogated somewhat away from the authentic, traditional Korean food, one thing has not changed- Kim Chee!

doesn't everything taste better deep fried?

Cherie, God put fat in food to make it TASTE BETTER!!! Let's face it- oatmeal vs. bacon... there isn't much thought that would have to occur here!! Bacon would win out every time. Unless you're weird... go ahead... I dare anyone to admit they would choose oatmeal...

I unfortunately concur.

and as much as we alll really DO like bacon, it does have its ways of showing up again... around the middle, the derrier area, arm flab, you name it. It likes to share the wealth.

Busy, busy, busy around here!

Always moving along... :thumbsup2

I would work again at Disney if I could! Maybe when I'm 80?? :confused3

OK, Fultons is sounding better and better. Shannn just posted an amazing review on her Trippie- everything looked great- but esp.the brulee'. Is it a place that you could pop in for dessert, and not feel weird or out of place??

I've tried EoS, but not WGPE yet. Both are or look great! I want someplace that we can split and not be hungry. I hoping whatever we do here can go for 2 people, so we can save another credit for later on during MK PM EMH.

I'm excited to explore DTD when we go too.

Sorry for your smelly weekend.

Before we had gone, we purchased gift cards for the kids, and they each knew exactly how much they had to spend. All of them knew that they didn't want anything out of there, so we didn't bother going, but rather headed over the the Lego store and spent literally about 2 hours there. If you know there is something specific then I'd say make sure you hit it up, but I'm so much NOT a browser, or shopper really for that matter. So, to me looking at a bunch of plastic stuff from China isn't high on my list.

Ragardless, DTD is packed full of great photo opportunities, great snack places and all that!! You'll really like it!

Liesa,

WOD is not my favorite store either. However, try and get me out of MouseGear once I've stepped in those doors. Not nearly as crowded and something about being IN a theme park shopping is a bit different than being somewhere where anyone can pop in....

Yeah, I knew I was opening myself up for a flame-a-thon here; it seems to be a favorite amongst the ranks here. Alas, the combined factors of too big, too MUCH, and too many other things to see that I haven't yet, give it a big 3 strikes you're out. Although I will go in to make maroo happy :) I might find SOMETHING fun.

Mousegears will always hold a special place in my heart. Our first trip back in 2001, we were there in January, and were freezing in EPCOT!!! I had to buy something to keep the kids and I warm, so I popped in there and bought everyone of us Mickey and Minnie sweatshirts. We were them to death, and only just last year, the last kid grew out of theirs. It was a sad day. But Mousegears will always have the dintinction of getting a $200 purchase out of us in order to stay warm. I think it had something to do with the hole burning in my pocket.

You and I can wear our WOD dislike proudly......:thumbsup2 I don't hate it, but don't really feel happy when I'm there....it's like going Christmas shopping when it's crazy busy and people aren't happy.

WOD...is a little overwhelming.

I step in and there's so much going on, I don't know where to go first.

All that glorious disney stuff and I'm sure I NEED alot of it.

It's my own disney stimulus package.......I'm sure I have the look of a monkey on crack....

The word that came to mind was frenetic. I don't like frenetic. I like busy, but in an organized sort of way. Like Mousegears. Or WS shopping.

Disney stimulus package?? HA! Hope it lasts longer than what we got--- ie. NOTHING! or longer than the banks could hold onto theirs.... :lmao:
