I got tired so I went to be at a decent hour last night.... WHERE IS THE SLEEPING SMILEY?:confused3

What happened to that building was terrible.. I hope no one was seriously hurt.:sad2:

Leisa, I'll help you get that url out of your siggy. I'll make it disappear just like I did with you rotating banner! :)

Actually, the rumor is that 7!!:scared1: people were killed! I am so very sad! I walked by it today, on the way to our teammates flat; all the windows are blown out, one wall (the one I could see from the street) has a huge crack in it, and it's leaning. There were a big group of officials talking outside as I went past.

My househelper also says that a private home also blew up just nearby as well yesterday. Maybe those who are installing the gas lines and new furnaces will make extra sure they are doing what they are supposed to be doing now? :confused3

I guess terrible things are happening all over the world today. I hadn't read about the army base thing until this afternoon. Been a sad day for sure...:sad1:

Well, I probably won't take it out of your "collage" fund, but I might out of your "COLLEGE" fund. ;)

Yes, there will have to be, since you are solely responsible for my trip bling. :lmao: Coordinated jewelry for every outfit and occasion :woohoo:

So sad about the building. What a shame that greediness leads to tragedy.

Leisa will you feel less guilty now depleating Bekka's college fund given the spelling error? I mean, high priced Harvard may notice those little things but it would probably slip right through the screening process at the less expensive Hamburger University :lmao:! Watch out Poly, here comes Leisa & Bekka!

Those SAT scores are amazing. I already got Emily a SAT book.:lmao:
So scary to hear about the buildings. That's terrible.
Here is my top 10 for MK:
1. Get a dole whip. Don't flame me but I never had one.
2. See the stage show.
3. See all 3 parades.
4. Go on the liberty square boat.
5. See hall of presidents.
6. Take picture in front of liberty bell and when I come home see how many people think it is the real one.
7. See frontier Donald.
8. That's all I could think of for now.

And it's exactly that- gross amounts of greed; with healthy doses of drunkeness, laziness and poor training added to the mix.

No, she'll still go to school, but I might have to resort to 5th grade spelling tests again. Actually, she has her heart set on O.R. nursing. I'm sure she'll do just fine. :goodvibes

Thanks for the congrats for my son! We're all on :cloud9: still.

Definitely will be getting some Dole Whips, but I'm not so much into shows or parades. Partly because of the crowds, but mostly cuz that's a great time to catch low lines. Liberty Belle is high up on list, and will probably check out Obama in the HoP. One of my very favorite pics was this one:

I love all the authenticity that goes into stuff like this!! Did you know that that bell was actually cast FROM THE SAME MOLD as the real Liberty Bell?? Amazing!

maybe college is aiming a bit too high...:rotfl2:

Nah, she can do it, but will have to learn how to use spell checker! :teacher::idea:

And because we have to keep this thread on track... here a the next Top 10's. My second favorite park is well, EPCOT, but only WS part. So, I'm dividing up EPCOT into 2 segments with FW following sometime later.

I feel I must re-iterate, these aren't the only things I'll be doing, but only the things I want to put as the highest priority.

Now, without further ado, World Showcase Top 10:

1) I want to see all 4 shows; Canada, USA, France, and China. I've only seen one of them, and really enjoyed it.

2) Must see Miyuki again. She is over-the-top enchanting.

3) There is a lady in China who plays the zither. The music is so soothing and myterious sounding. I love it!

4) Mo' Rockin' is also way high on my list. I love their stuff so much, I bought and downloaded a few of their songs.

5) Last trip I missed Voices of LIberty by mere minutes. I was so sad!

6) I do love a ride on the high seas of Norway. Maelstrom is a must-do!

7) I've read some rave reviews of the KimPossible Missions; they really aide in finding some hidden treasures that Imagineering has cleverly put into the theming.

8) Definitely need to find a bunch of the hidden gems I've learned about over the last year. (Separate post on these sometime later)

9) Almost every country has a fountain and national HATS for sale. I'm willing to risk the cooties, but I want a picture of my by all the fountains and with hats from all the countries that have them.

10) And last, but not least, there are some fun eats and drinks ready for the noshing.

You can bet this trip will have a robust portion of time allotted for exploring and enjoying. There's so much to see and do!! maroo, I'll show you the great side of WS!!!

I can't wait for some adult time in the WS. I haven't done any of those things except Maelstrom (it's a ride!) and a Kim Possible mission (very cool!).

I want to stroll instead of race and enjoy what the WS has to offer without people pulling me along!! How many more days until December 20??

This is what my DW does.... well kinda of.. She works in the recovery room. She works with surgeries that require a patient to be admitted to the hospital. She's been a nurse for 10 years! (WOW are we that old?:confused3) She used to work on surgical floors but has been in recovery for 5? years now. If Bekka has any questions about nursing let me know... I'll pass them on to Melody. :goodvibes

Woops forgot to add WS thoughts...... After looking at your list I have realized that I know NOTHING about the WS. Yea, I know where the drinks are but I feel like we always rush through here. One thing that we did like last time in Epcot was the KidCot stops. Juliana liked making her mask and the interaction with CMs from around the world is cool. We've only been to Epcot 2 times so far, I need to schedule more time here on some trip in the future (probably won't happen next time either:sad2:)

I know!! Getting some unrushed, "adult" time sounds so nice right now. None of this frenetic, go-go-go, no time for this or that, blah, blah, blah. Time to stop and smell the roses and soak it in. Although, I do love Maelstrom! Lots of imagination sure went into it, for sure. Hmmm... let's see about 40 days?? maroo does my math for me... :confused3:lmao:

I will definitely do that. She's pretty excited about it- even since biology. She totally smoked that class and LOVED IT!

Yeah, I guess you ARE that old- join the CRAFT club, better known as the "gettin' to be old farts" bunch. (some of us are further down that road than you, though)

There is so much there! WS deserves LOADS of time, but I think most people don't take it. I know I didn't the first times I was there. Again, kids have a way of doing that. My kids loved the KidCot stops too!! In fact, we made it a point to get ALL the little dangly things to bring home for our scrapbooks. My kids loved talking to the CMs and having them teach them hello, goodbye and thank you.

Defintely do the Kim Possible Missions. We had so much fun. We always take hat pictures also. Fun memories!

So, I'm pretty safe from lice and other cooties?? We've done the Viking horns and the Chinese hats so far; nothing yet...

Do you have a certain country for the KP that you'd recommend??

I'm really looking forward to doing Epcot and WS with Piper as well..oddly enough those are the two things I have the most memory of from my trips as a kid. (Mind you that was 25 yrs ago..lol) My mouth kind of drops open when I read TRs where families didn't spend a whole day there, lol. I could go and spend the week! I'm debating on the Kim Possible thing, I think Piper would prob enjoy it, but I think it takes a lot of time and we already have too little time and too much to fit in! The hats idea sounds really fun. (If you're worried just take a lil can of lysol and secretly give it a spray..)

We also definitely want to see Miyuki! Piper loooooves candy and is addicted to Cooking Mama, I know she'd get a thrill from watching her...

Mine too!!! All the little nooks and crannies to explore... I love it all!

I don't know if she'd want to eat her candy if she got one from Miyuki!! THey are totally works of art.

I really really hope to have time to just explore the WS this time. I've been to WDW 4 times and have not really explored it at all. We've eaten, we've had drinks, we've strolled. But really explore? Enjoy? No.

I'm hoping to get a full day in in just the WS....not all at once but over the course of the trip. I also think by having more "adults" with us this trip, that will be easier to pull off as I think they will love the WS.

I love your list!

When you're on Maelstrom, look for the hidden Mickey on the mural at the loading dock!

I'm happy to report that with me and my kids trying on every stinkin hat in WS, none of us has walked away with cooties, lice or anyother nasty thing.

We can look at gloves, scarfs, jackets..and none of them inspire us to try them on. But we see a hat and it's like we're genetically undable to pass it up.

this reminded me of your stolen outhouse...

DD10 is a spelling whiz but DD8 can't spell worth a darn. It's very frustrating for me to try and study with DD8 because she spells everything phonetically. Her teacher insists that some kids just 'get it' and others have to work to spell every word. And then she tells me not to worry because of spell check.

Poor Bekka - all this fuss over one little letter!

An OR nurse sounds like a wonderful career. Not a lot of spelling required either! We love our OR nurses :goodvibes

Oh my, oh my, oh my! Leisa, I am ashamed to say that I have done only a couple of items on your list! I am so intrigued by KP Missions though I've never heard of them. Myuki? Who is s/he and what does s/he do?

Great list overall! What about the ride in Mexico?

Ok...

Here is my top 10 for Epcot WS.....:rolleyes1
