Hi All! I need some trip planning advice!
DH & I are staying at the WL (for the first time) and just upgraded the room to concierge. Dh's birthday is on the third day of our five day trip. Should I call the concierge/priority planning and let them know this? Does WL do anything special for birthdays?

Of course they will! If you are already confirmed/booked for concierge, I would recommend that you contact the concierge floor directly and speak with them about it to prevent it from getting lost in the sauce.

They can do lots of amazing things on that floor. I can pretty much guaranty you a good stay there from my past experiences.

Discrazy.. I would arrange it once you check in to concerige..I have heard too many people try to make arrangements over the phone and not get what they want..it is much better to arrange it face to face and since it is the 3rd day...you have time!

My husband is still on the fence - he keeps saying that maybe we should stay at one of the resorts on the monorail, since we are traveling with a baby. But this discussion has me sold on WL.

I'll give a call. I've never been one to ask for anything, but we saved and saved for this trip and I want to make it extra-special!

Betsy, we too experienced this problem but the real reason, as we had learned, is that pre-planning doesn't get handled by the staff "in" WL it get's done in a different part of the "world". This is why I suggested she contact concierge directly to see what can be done.

I have yet to experience a problem if they have the ball to run with.

Thanks for the honor but I can't accept. I am far from being an expert, let alone THE expert, of the Lodge. There are many others here that have more experience dealing with WL than I and we as a family are the reason I love this thread.

ANYONE here that is a regular will do the same thing I have. Some even better than me.

As for WL being my favorite, yes it is!! We love the place and the concierge floor is the only place for me! My wife and I really like to be pampered when on vacation and they are PROS there. Trust me! A stay at WL is like a vacation from Disney which helps you settle down at the end of a long day in the parks!

When are you planning to go again? (Sorry if I missed that in a previous post.)

So, in closing, I accept your award on behalf of all the WL VETS of the FAQ. I would like to thank my wife and daughter for all of thier support and....errr....I'll just shutup now.

I would arrange any birthday celebrations with the Itinerary Planning staff. Yes, they do work someplace other than at WL. They should be contacting you or you can call them. Do you have their number?

Also, mention it to the concierge staff when you check in.

How elaborate are you planning on being? If you want something specific then definately arrange it ahead of time. If you just want to see if they will do anything then mention it now and at check in. Most of the time the concierge staff will send a cake, etc. but not always.

Well Good Morning Everyone!

It seems that we have had a funfilled weekend here while I was gone....thanks for the laughs on my morning reading!

It is a cuddly 18 degrees here this a.m. with a grand total of 6 inches of SNOW on the ground....freezing rain expected this afternoon and another 3-6 inches of snow scheduled for tomorrow.....OH BOY!!

I wish I was HOME at the lodge infront of the fire!!

My friends are leaving for the lodge on THursday.....save some PD on the weather wand for them Roy!! THey can certainly handle some cooler temps there (it would seem like a heat wave at this point) but I would love it if they had no rain!!

discrazy.....wishing you and yours the most magical trip ever!! As far as concierge goes.....it seems to me that if they can do it...they will. Make sure you tell us all about it on your return!!

I just made priority seating arrangements for dinner at Artist Point at WL for Valentine's Day for me and hubby. We usually don't do much, but decided to splurge a little this year. Thought we would drive out to Orlando and go to mass at Mary Queen of the Universe first then do dinner at 8:00pm. What a better place to go for Valentines' Day, I think. Then I thought we could have a romantic walk around the grounds.

Hope the weather is nice that night. FC put it on your weather calendar for us please.

I love the food at Artist Point. DH and I didn't get a chance to have a sit down there during our December trip, but I asked if I could order take-out and they said "certainly". Soooo, there I was, ordering take-out from Artist Point. Double YUM!!

Be carefull and take note of your bill whenever you do this! They charged us a 15% service fee for having the food packed up for takeout the last time we did this.

As far as I know, WC does NOT do this...only AP.

PD and prayers requested for my 2 year old DD!Please ! She was injured by one of our dogs and had to have her face stitched up by a plastic surgeon!
My DM always warned me that it doesn't matter how behaved and friendly a dog can be...cause they are still animals!

OMG, Prayers, PD & {{{{{HUGS}}}}}. I am sooooo very sorry to hear this, The poor little thing has to be scared out of her wits. Praying hard for a complete recovery.

Hate to tell you this, you know I have told you I trained dogs. He has to be taken out of the home as you can not break them of it after it happens and can never be trusted.
