Although they say transportation begins running 45 minutes before park opening, when I was there last week the first boat didn't pull up to the dock at the WL until about 8:30/8:35. We got through the security check point on our way to the turnstiles just at 9:00 when the train was pulling up with the characters.

What time does the boat to MK start running? And does anyone know what time they do the opening ceremony...with the characters at the front entrance?? I am guessing 9am cause thats what time the park opens. Some insight would be greatly appreciated.::yes::

When we were there in Sept (MK opened at 9am), it started running at 8:30. One day, we had a 9am PS w/ Cindy. We took the smaller boat to CR & monorail from there. I believe the WL/CR/FW boat starts running at 7am.

DisneyDmbNut I guess leave the door open LOL Got up in the night looking for the comforter I stored those so many months ago. If AspirngCindy shows up ask her about Imagineer, I think she had some info on this one time.

OK for those of you heading down. You DO NOT go rushing in like your about to check into a Holiday Inn. You calmly hold hands, walk through the big majestic doors and just stand there. OHHHS & AHHS and tears are permissible.

Also you have to shout WL VETS are awesome and tell it true.

Remember to get your park maps and time sheets at the end of the front desk

Mommy Poppins PD on your soon to be trip to “our home”. Be sure to let Humphrey Bear know you are there, I want you to feel the PD falling on you. WHAT, no packing started? Let’s get going here girl, Sweat shirt and a pair of long pants. Shorts and T-shirts for the day time.

KSM Let DS find Humphrey and get the Magic off to a great start. Same as above.

Ga Girl, same goes for you.

Dizneykid Hey old friend, isn’t this nice for a few days at least. You wait until you are at the B&D. Don’t let the Magic get away. Take a lot of notes for us as we want all the inside goodies. LOL

Starz723 I did the same as your Brother, I was calling everyone Sissy’s. LOL I have three good friends come down in February to get in some golf with me. They are walking around in shorts and t-shirts, and I am tagging behind in my sweats. LOL

Hey Fred, someone here needs VET help.
floridafam Give a PM to Majestic.

Is Humphrey easy to find?? Don't remember seeing him. But that has also been years ago.

Thanks!!

I always go to Chef Mickeys first thing..its a tradition.

Thanks for the info on Wisconsin. I do remember them telling me they were a teachers!! Too bad I didnt ask the other family I met. They were probably teachers too.

One thing I did notice was the many families from England. I have to ask my cousin who lives in UK if its their " holiday" time.

OK, here it is. Humphrey is on the bottom of theTotem Pole in front of the Mercantile. He is considered the "Lodge Mascot" by the CM's

My 6 yo son (turns 7 in Disney) said this morning, before getting on the bus, "Mom how do you expect me to learn ANYTHING today? I got Disney on my mind!"

Have a wonderful :sunny: magical :jester: pixie dust filled time!!! ::yes::

Let me know how the birthday goes! My DS will turn 8 on our next trip pirate:

OK, folks! Dh is just "twisting" my arm to go again at the end of March.:cool1:

Any chance of any discounts coming out? We've always gone late summer/fall so I've never really paid attention to the spring discounts.

The VISA, kids stay free one really isn't much, it only takes abt $300/off..... I have AAA, is that usually any better?

I guess we could push it off till late Apr, when the "season" changes.... I'd really prefer March, I believe the park hours (MK) are better too.....

How are the crowds?

My dh and I are planning our next trip. We have never stayed at WL and have a couple of questions. I am interested in a king bed rooms. Does the Lodge have king bed rooms in all the views? I remember reading somewhere that standard views did not have king bed rooms? Would we would be more likely to get a king bed if we booked a woods/courtyard view room.
I appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Dana

I was hoping someone might be able to help me. I'll be staying in a 2BR villa at VWL for just a couple of days starting on 11/21. I've seen a lot of discussion about the best room choices at Wilderness Lodge but not at the Villas. Is that because they're all pretty much the same? Any advice? Thanks.

You may want to try the DVC discussion page. Someone there will most likely be able to help you. Here is the link: http://disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?forumid=28

Well, better late than never . . . . we had a great trip to WDW the last week of October. Thanks to everyone who gave us such wonderful tips and advice - it really made a difference.

Upon entering the WL I told my DH I had found my place. It was breathtaking. We had debated FAXing in a room request and decided to take our chances - and I'm glad we did. We arrived around 1:00 and they had room 6163 ready. When we made our reservations I had requested non-smoking and two queens. We began to wonder on the loooooong walk to 6163 but thought we'd give it a chance. It was the best. We had a balcony that you couldn't see out of below the waist but we had a great view of the pool, geyser, lake, and fireworks!! And it was so very quiet at night which was great. Our mousekeeper Irma made towel animals (Lyle, Lyle the crocodile was the DDs' favorite) and we had great food in the restaurants. We asked about the flag family but they were booked, oh well, just another reason to go back, soon!!

The parks were great, too, and we especially liked MNSSHP on the 26th. Crowds were light (except in ToonTown) and we tricked and or treated, watched the parade, and rode a lot of rides. The transportation ran smoothly and we rode it all - I think!!

I enjoy reading all of your posts - it gives me my Disney fix. I am missing the MK and the WL most of all. Thanks again for all the info - it helped make our first family trip to WDW and the WL the BEST!!

PD to all who are traveling soon!!

Okay for DS's 8th B-day we are at MK all day :jester: Starting with breakfast at CP and ending with dinner at LTT and Wishes :hyper:

My question is this: TBK (The Birthday King :earsboy: ) wants to take a break in the afternoon and head back to WL to ride mouseboats. What kind of time will that take (leaving MK...taking the boat to WL...riding MouseBoats...boat back to MK)? :faint:

I'm working on the 'schedule'...and didn't know how long we should expect that to take us

Thanks!

Welcome wlrookie,

we stayed in a one bedroom villa in August and loved it , we had room 5528 and it was wonderful. we did not have a pool view, but nonetheless, I thought it was beautiful. it was a corner room so we could see many views actually. If you would like I can send you pic of what i have if you would like. You will love it. I recommend higher up is better, although alot of folks like closer to the elevator so that they can obtain a pool view(cant blame them) if you dont get a pool view is not such a terrible thing either. Ours was on fifth floor and master bdroom had cathedral ceiling which was pretty as well. Also dont worry about ordering from room svs at the Lodge, we were worried about the length of time for delivery, but our order for breakfast came in less than 15 minutes. WOW. So have a ball. Hope this little info helps, but feel free to ask away Ill be happy to answer. Have a great day!!
