My question is this: TBK (The Birthday King ) wants to take a break in the afternoon and head back to WL to ride mouseboats. What kind of time will that take (leaving MK...taking the boat to WL...riding MouseBoats...boat back to MK)?
Pewing-
What a great 8th birthday!!! I'd take that kind of day for my birthday any year!!
When DD (6 1/2) and I were at WL in Oct, we often took an afternoon break. It was nice to take a break from the constant activities and people at what ever park we were at.
The easiest was going back and forth between the MK and WL because of the boat.
One day we had breakfast at Cindrella's Round Table so we arrived at the park at 8:15, had breakfast, did rides and then headed back to the WL around 1. I would plan on at least 30 minutes for the transportation. The boat ride is about 15 min (if it goes first to FW) but if you just missed it, you might have to wait 10-15 minutes for the next boat. They don't depart on a set schedule (like on the hour) but just come regularly.
Mouse rentals are by the 1/2 hour- plan for 45 minutes at least to sign in, get life vests etc. We were there in Oct and never had to wait for a Water Mouse. I don't know what time of year you are going but that might be a consideration.
Then plan at least 45 minutes for transport back to the MK as well as walking time from gate to LTT. I think one evening it did take us 45 minutes from WL dock to LTT. Partly because we just missed an earlier boat and then our boat went to FW then to MK. Sometimes they are just coming from FW enroute to MK so that saves about 10 minutes.
Long winded- sorry- so to recap- roughly plan 30 minutes to go from MK dock to WL dock (could be quicker depending on when you get the boat and if it goes to FW first or WL first); say 1 hour if you are doing a 30 minute Mouse Rental (maybe 90 minutes if you are doing an hour Mouse Rental) and then 45 minutes from WL dock to LTT. I would say the above is done at a leisurely pace but doesn't take into account if you are going back to your room, stopping for snacks at Roaring Forks, going for a dip in the pool etc.
Hope that helps!
Have fun
