Although an interesting idea and I appreciate the thinking, I don't plan to contact any type of media.

IF we do anything with this, I'll be sure to share AFTER. We've had many amazingly magical moments on our Disney trips in our lives and maybe I was hoping for this to be another magical memory for us in Disney. Yes, it'll be magical whether we find out on Main Street or on a table in the doctor's office.

DH and I haven't booked anything or talked dates other than "some time in April" as we'd be able to find out in March and if the baby is kicking too much, we'd have time before the trip to catch a picture- my OB office is great with that. I'd be ok with waiting if I knew we'd be finding out in our favorite place in the world.

I don't see this as some "over-the-top" attention seeking thing. We've mentioned this to my very excited parents and sister who will be first time grandparents and a first time aunt and planned to mention it to DHs family if we do it...we don't expect any of them to come but if they do, awesome! If not, they'll find out through pictures. I am not planning on asking Disney to shut down part of Main Street and beg guests to watch (not that anyone has said anything like that, just wanting to be clear). This is something I hope to have one photopass photographer snapping pictures of, a ballon CM, and if possible, a CM and Mickey. I do not think Mickey could come out during his meet and greet times to do this. Thus, "dream".

"Renting Mickey" is not something I was planning to do as I don't believe this is something that would need more than 10 minutes. But if that's what Disney came up with, and I had him for an hour I'd be sure to ride Dumbo with him.

I think having your parents record it & a PP photographer taking pictures with the castle behind you would be amazing!

It's $950.00 for Mickey Mouse to make (1), thirty minute private appearance and this appearance can only take place in private, non-outdoor locations.

I hate to burst your pink or blue Mickey balloon, OP, but you may want to consider the other suggestions of just having the balloon CM, or Mayor of Main Street help you with your gender reveal.

Also, I'm not sure who George Kalogrids is. But George Kalogridis is the newly named President of WDW. I don't think he'd appreciate being called out to assist with this, when there are other things he needs to be working on. Especially when there are perfectly capable front-line CM's *cough* Guest Relations *cough* who are empowered to assist the OP with her plans.

Purchase 2 balloons, pink & blue, and take them to the Mickey M&G area. Explain to the CM what you want to do, give them the envelope & balloon, and have Mickey hand you the right one?!

I think this is a great idea! You can go straight to Main Street to celebrate after your time with Mickey.
