:sunny: :sunny: :sunny: Hi!! I'm planning to spend vacation with my family in Daytona Beach this summer. Could anyone answer these following questions? Thanks!! :grouphug:
I'm looking for an efficiency oceanfront with full kitchenette for a family of 2 adults and 2 children. I have looked into "Nomads' house by the sea" accommodations does anyone ever stayed there? Did you like it? Do you have something better you could suggest me? Thank you for your help, hoping to get some response.... !!! ;) :wave2:

First-- WELCOME TO THE DIS!!!!

We've been to Daytona Beach. I have not heard of the place you mentioned. My biggest suggestion would be to do lots and lots of research on your accomodations. We found the area to be a bit overpriced for lodging that was really runned down. Before booking a hotel you may want to check trip advisors for some reviews.

I would be very careful with Daytona Beach. Like the previous post says, do alot of research. We went for a day trip while at Disneyworld in September and found the whole boardwalk area to be run down and seedy, especially by the pier. Even the expensive large Hilton was right in the middle of this stretch. It was very quiet with quite a few "shady characters" wandering around. My wife did not feel safe at all. That being said, the beach and the ocean were great. But once off the beach, beware.

We stayed in an oceanfront efficiency Dec 2004 for a week. The resort is called Coral Beach Resort and it offers an indoor heated pool as well as an outdoor unheated pool. The efficiencies were very large. The resort is about 2 miles north of Daytona in Ormond Beach.
The hotel is very modest, no frills but we had a great week there.
We only paid $45 per night plus tax for the oceanfront efficiency. I have checked their web site and the prices have gone up somewhat.
Last month we spent two weeks in Siesta Key. We stayed in a one bedroom condo about a 3 minute walk to the beach.
You can't compare Siesta Key and Ormond/Daytona Beach. Its not that I didn't like Daytona Beach, but after going to Siesta Key, I have no intention of visiting Daytona again.

I don't know what your budget is but we stayed at Ocean Walk Resort. One bedroom ocean front condo for $150. Very nice, great pools, lazy river, slides, indoor pool, kids activities, food court etc. Right next to movies, shops and restaurants. At the end of the "concrete boardwalk". http://www.oceanwalk.com/

BUT Daytona is Daytona and I would be VERY careful where I stay. Hopefully someone knows the place you are talking about.

Definately Ocean Walk. My kids love this place and we've been there 3 times. It's a Fairfield Resort, so you might be able to rent from an owner cheaper than calling Ocean Walk directly.
