Like a Bad Meal (V Keeps Coming Back) - THE END! 1/12/09

And V, you know you became that lifeguard's story of the day, right? "...and not only was she yelling at her almost-drowning son to swim, after I brought him back to her she ignored her crying child and protested to me that he does know how to swim!"
OMG, I totally thought that, too, later in the day! :rotfl2:

I kept looking and looking at those first two slides.. I just realized we NEVER went over to that section of Blizzard Beach. We did the Pre-teen stuff
Don't worry - you didn't miss anything... I took the shots from an angle, so they look steeper than they were! ;)
Guess who FORGOT HOW TO SWIM for just a moment....
 ACK!

They HIT the BUTTON!?! :scared1: Well at least we know THEY are paying attention!
Yeah, I have to say they have some hard-core lifeguards, which is good! :thumbsup2

Gotta love the IDUNNO . I have a "I FORGOT"
::yes:: Yep, I get that one too!

In June Happy was going off the "plunge slide" for the 1st time of the season , he came down like mad and then popped up. He turned in the water then preceded to go under. No big deal a he swims under the water sometimes.BUT he came up and went back down, up then down. I was getting a bit concerned as the slide empties into 13 FEET OF WATER!!!!!So I yell"HAPPY SWIM" to which he relpies"OH I FORGOT" and then swims to the ledge.
:rotfl: It was just like that!
So after doing both WP which is better for DAREDEVIL children.??
Definitely BB! :thumbsup2
Do you know if the resorts will pack a lunch for guests??
I think so. But you can always bring a soft-sided cooler, buy sandwiches/salads/whatever the night before and pack them. That was my plan for August. :rolleyes1

Mitch and I had a good time at dinner with you and Leo! We'll have to meet for another drink sometime. :thumbsup2
We did too! Absolutely - I'll let you know when I'm in town next!

I felt this coming....
I thought you might. ;)
I love that one just as much as "Hey honey...what did you do today?"

"Nothin'" :sad2:
One of my "favorites!"

great update and pics
Thanks Scott!

Gramma and the bed strike again! LOL When will she learn???
Seriously! Or when will I learn? :headache:
Looks like BB was a fun time! Do you go on any of the slides or just wait for Leo at the bottom?
I just wait at the bottom. With the kids' slides, it's easy to keep an eye on them from start to finish. The resort slides are another story - only this year was I comfortable with him being out of sight, I'm afraid.

Too funny about gramma and the back and carrying Leo. :rolleyes1 Mind you...she wouldn't have carried you when you were little...but she will carry Leo :rotfl:
You just hit the nail on the head - it ticks me off even more when she does things that she didn't do with me! :rotfl:
Did you check out the nice shower area they have there? The waterpark is a great idea for the last day too. You check out, go there, swim, shower and leave!
Not at BB, but I've seen TL's. I love the WPs for the last day, though we usually just wait to shower when we get home (only a 1.5 hour drive and I get all hot and sweaty unloading the car anyway!)

Isn't it such a wonderful feeling when crowds are LESS than expected?!?
YES!!! I was so pleased. :goodvibes

If Gramma complains about her back again, you could always tell her it's from carrying your six year old child who can very well walk all on his own!:rotfl2:
Dude, I so should have said that! :thumbsup2

I've got to give Gramma some points here. People are overrated. Especially when they insist on sitting close to you. And are wearing inappropriate beachwear. NOspeedos.
:rotfl2:
Button? I didn't even know there was such a thing!
Tell me about it! I don't even know what it does.

Hey V, loving your trip report. I was at WDW the week of the 4th. It was not my first time in July, but my first 4th. I was really preparing myself and my family for crazy crowds, but honestly, it was not has bad as I have heard, read or expecting. We used fast pass, but the wait times were never horrible, not like I was expecting for that week. We went to AK on the 4th and it was dead, which was perfect and we saw the fireworks at MK on the 3rd. I would go back on the 4th for sure.
Thanks so much for reporting in on the parks - I've been wondering ever since we were there how they were! I'm definitely planning on the 4th again - not 2009 because I won't have Leo, but 2010! :thumbsup2

I did a "Leo" on a indoor water slide, the lifeguard was just about ready to come in and save me. My dd's stopped him, they were laughing so hard-they actually convinced the lifeguard that I was I would be fine. OMG, I had water slammed in my face so hard that I gulped at least 3 gallons of water at the end of the stupid slide. It made me so dizzy, I couldn't stand up or swim. It gave me the worst migraine. I found out later, when I lifted my head out of my towel, that I went on a "turbo slide". I should learn to read the signs.
:rotfl2: Oh Marisa, I'm sorry! FWIW, I have no intentions of riding the big slides. I've never fared well with them myself. :rolleyes1
Looking forward to hearing how the Frocker Fest went, so you better hurry up and finish this one.
No pressure there! ;)

Hi V, ...yay for low crowds and frosty adult beverages :woohoo: I'll have a douple after the red button episode :lmao:
Dude, you and me both! :rotfl:

Hi there! Woo hoo - an update on this otherwise bleary, rainy day!:cool1:

So I was very proud to see my little buddy in pictures going down the slides...I seem to recall a time not too long ago that he wouldn't even look at a slide, much less go down one! Way to go little man!!:thumbsup2

And then...they hit THE button. The big, red button. Too bad it wasn't the Easy Button, huh? :sad2: If it makes you feel any better, I'd have done the same thing...stood there saying "Swim, Michael!".

I noticed you neglected to say whether or not the lifeguard was hot. :confused3 Just askin'...

And Gramma. Oh Gramma. What are we to do with her?

Hmm...what to do with Gramma....:scratchin

The aching back thing. I agree with - was it Jodi that said it :confused3 - it's from carrying Leo across the sand all the freakin' time...

But, if it wasn't the bunk bed, it'd have been the pull out sofa...always something...:rolleyes1

We'll always have Bangladesh...

Yeah, hold that thought, k? :rolleyes1

And then...they hit THE button. The big, red button. Too bad it wasn't the Easy Button, huh? :sad2:
OMG, that's exactly what it looked like! :lmao:

I noticed you neglected to say whether or not the lifeguard was hot. :confused3 Just askin'...
Do you have to ask? They're ALL hot! :cool2:

We'll always have Bangladesh...
We'll just keep repeating this over and over. :rolleyes1
BANGLADESH, BANGLADESH!!!

Do you think there's room for my MIL???:confused3
Heck yeah - group rates, baybee! :rotfl:

V, that is great you are planning for 2010.

I was really prepared for the worst, but it was never horrible. I was shocked actually...lol

I read another recommendation for the 4th, was going to a water park, but decided on AK. It was perfect. Oh, and stay away from Downtown Disney on the 4th. We went down there to grab a bite to eat and maybe catch the fireworks, (after we left AK) and it was horrible.

Now you KNEW that bunk bed was going to be trouble!! :rotfl:

I bet Gramma never carried you over the sand you didn't like as a child!:rotfl2: Funny how they change, isn't it!

I've only been to the water parks twice, so you're going to have to explain "the button" to me!! So the lifeguard presses the button & what happens??? :confused3 Sirens, whistles, loud speakers??????:confused3 Were the two of you the center of "unwanted" attention?? I must confess, I would have said the same thing to the lifeguard!!:lmao: You just wanted him to know that you're a perfectly fine & capable parent!!! Your son DOES know how to swim! He just chose not to at that particular time!:rotfl:

Ok, I loved that last update, but I misread the title. I read Leo S-T-INKS!!!

Of course, being the preschool teacher that I am, I figured he must have had an "accident". ;) Well, I read through your whole update, and was kinda like this.....:scratchin I went back and read the title again and realized that there was NO "T" in that word..... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Sorry, I just had to share my dippyness with you. You're Welcome! ;)

I'm glad that Leo was OK.

Y'all need to take cover for Gustav, or whatever the heck his name is.

oh no v-- they didn't push the button???!!!!!

i agree with katt-- poor v, poor leo!

 don't be so hard on yourself v. you're a great mum!! ( mum is in honor of disney jo, who has been missing for 2 weeks, wonder where she is?:rolleyes1 )

i'm glad you didn't have to battle the crowds!!! :thumbsup2 but what's up with no crowds on 4th of july weekend???:confused3

How did I just find this conglomerate of trip reports by PrincessV?! I must hurry up with the catching up now. :surfweb:

Seriously, not a clue! I didn't see anything odd happen - maybe it just alerts other guards that one if in the water? :confused3

Ok, I loved that last update, but I misread the title. I read Leo S-T-INKS!!!
:lmao: Due, no doubt, to my series of stinky room issues, right?!
Sorry, I just had to share my dippyness with you. You're Welcome! ;)

No worries here - we're way out of the Cone of Uncertainty!

I know - it's crazy, rihgt?!

Maybe they'll stack 'em 3 to 4 high in bunk beds!!!:lmao:
:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Hey you!!! I just saw you on TV again - last week was it? I waved. Did you see me? ;)

AND, I see a pre-trippie link in your signature... I'll be over later!

Yikes! Attack of the killer slide! Glad Leo (and you) survived his ordeal. Great pics, BTW! :thumbsup2

V - you were quite lucky with the crowds, glad you enjoyed your day at BB.

Leo looks great on the slides and seems he is conquering his fears, well except for the little episode with the lifeguard.

I too will have a BB installment coming up:rolleyes1
