Lights! Motor! Asian?--Feb 2010 Part II. 11/6-Pix, part 2. Page 199.

Hi Jordan, I'm a long time lurker on your TR's. I love your outlook on life and Disney. My friend (also a lurker) and I have even taken to adopting your flush ratings on bathrooms.:thumbsup2 I have enjoyed your humor and witty thoughts on all things Disney and just wanted to share that with you. I also just wanted you to know that I have been keeping you in my prayers. Hugs and prayers from Texas!

Miss ya Jordy-thanks for the post on my PTR-have a TR now if you are lurking. I really do hope PeepFest is still on-I am saving my DVC points!!

Thanks for your patience as Wendy, Jordan and I had to take a long break to help prepare for a celebration of life for Wendy's dad, Reverend David. We had a wonderful, blessed memorial service on Saturday, June 5 with over 700 guests in attendance. The service was made even more memorable by being held at the church that Rev. David built in LA. We had many personal tributes including myself, some other pastors who shared personal memories, wonderful worship music, and a 30 minute slide show that I prepared which people had a chance to view during the personal tribute time (when they pass by the closed casket).

We had several friends that also helped us prepare and host the reception held immediately after the service which was a stupendous feat given the tight quarters but everyone took the long lines in stride. Jordan helped out by being our liaison (aka runner) with the mortuary service (he finally earned his free to Palm Springs that we treated him and his roommates to. We were supposed to go with him in mid-May but had to stay back to arrange for Rev. David's funeral arrangements).

After the reception, the family headed to the cemetery to lay Rev. David to rest and then we hosted visiting family members from Hawaii (from Wendy's mom's side) and other family members from LA and Arizona (from Wendy's dad's side). This was made all the more memorable when University of Hawaii was playing against University of Arizona in the women's softball championship (I thought I was going to have to intercede between competing family members but all went well). :rotfl2:

We're slowly recovering from all of the busyness. We're in the process of sending out over 500 thank you cards and tending to other follow-up items.

Thanks again for your support, love and patience for all of us during this difficult time. Hopefully Jordan will resume his duties on this TR, but he also has a lot on his plate as well.

Take care,

Derek, Wendy, Erin, Dylan and Ashlyn

P.S. If I can figure out a way to embed the slideshow video to this board, I'll let you
see the short (8 min version) of my 30 min video tribute to Rev. David.

:grouphug: to all of you! Thanks for checking in Derek. Sounds like you had a wonderful Celebration of Life for pastor Dave. We will be here when you are all ready to come back! He must have been a very special man, to have so many come from so far to pay tribute to him!:littleangel:

Hi Derek, I'm sure you can upload the slideshow onto photobucket.com and then post the link here.

I think it's wonderful you called it a celebration of life. That slideshow idea is also wonderful.

Long time no see  for Jordan!

With summer here, and my mom off work for the summer, I'm not spending near as much time on the DIS. :( DH and I are hoping to get a netbook in the next few weeks though...so if that happens, I'll be on more often.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Glad to hear that Derek!! I know it was just a beautiful service! to you, Wendy, Jordan, and the whole family!

I miss you guys, hope your doing well Jordy. I miss you so all so much. :grouphug:

Welcome Back Millie!! I've missed your sweet presence on the DIS! How was your trip? I'm sure we'd all like a report ;)

Tammie, your such a sweetheart. I miss your sweet presence too. I'm not sure I'm going to do a report after all, I'll share bits here and there, but I feel I just don't have that much of an interesting story to share to do a whole report. What can I say, my life just isn't that interesting!
I will for sure share pics and bits here and there as I feel I have the OK to do so from whom ever's report I have permission to do it from. :goodvibes
