Lights! Motor! Asian?--Feb 2010 Part II. 11/6-Pix, part 2. Page 199.

Thanks VA....I could use another trip to WDW right about now.

My heart breaks for your family and rejoices at the same time because I know your uncle is literally in the arms of Jesus. Ask Derek what I mean by this (I just sent you all a PM through him).
I'm sorry for the pain, and I wish I could do something to make it better....if you want I can pack you in my suitcase and take you with us when we leave in the next couple of days.

I wish I could be there for you all, I am in spirit if that counts for anything. :lovestruc

I'm so sorry for the loss of Wendy's father! However, you can hold on to the promise that you will see him again and he is definitely in a better place!! WIll be praying for all of you during this time!!

I'm so sad to hear about your loss. Know that many people, all over the world, are thinking of all of you guys.

So true.
I don't post much but I have been keeping up with your story. Such trying times for all of you and I am so very sorry. You are in this girl's prayers...all the way from Athens, Georgia. Keep your chin up and know that your are loved. What a blessing that you and Wendy have the love and support of so many people....those you know each day and those who you have touched here on the boards.

Had to come out of lurkdom to send :grouphug: from Alabama. You are going through so much right now. There really aren't any words but I am reminded of a church hymn that always makes me smile...
"and HE will raise you up on eagle's wings,
bear you on the breath of dawn,
make you to shine like the sun,
and hold you in the palm of His hand".
So sorry for your loss and for all that you have to deal with right now. Just know that there is a stranger in Alabama praying for peace for you guys.

Wendy, your father DID leave a beautiful legacy. I'm so sorry he couldn't pull through this time, but I know God let him come home early to spare him further suffering. Continued hugs and prayers. :grouphug:

My prayers are with all of you - try to get some rest through the next few days, you will need it with all the people coming, the service, etc.

Jordan, sounds like you are getting a well needed retreat.

Wendy, Derek and Jordan, I am so sorry to hear about the loss your dad/uncle. I know I can't really say anything that will help right now, so just know that you are loved and in our prayers.

Jordan, Wendy, and Derek,

I am so sorry about your loss. Please know that so many prayers have been sent your way.

I'm so glad you are all together right now. The stories ("Thanks we are having fun reminiscing. Apparently my mom used to beat my uncle up as kids.") help to ease the pain.

Thanks Tracy, yes, laughter is the best medicine sometimes and believe me, our family has much fodder for funny stories... I'm sure we'll be sharing a lot more as the days go by.

Wendy, Derek, Jordan, and Family, I am so very sorry for your loss.

Wendy, Derek, & Jordan-

So sorry to hear about you loss. I will keep you in my prayers.

Wendy, Derek, Jordan and family,

 and prayers to you and your whole family!

Thank you all for your loving support... I just know that all your prayers are what's keeping us sane these days. I think we'll just be on busy-mode til the service but after that I'm sure we'll all be grieving in our own way.

Sending thoughts and prayers to all of the family from Georgia.

Wendys dad can go rest high on the mountain-his work on earth is done. Knowing he is not suffering anymore will help with yalls pain.

CA appreciates GA! Yes, grateful for our reassurance that he is in heaven now and pain free and is probably excited for the fact that he can chat with people for eternity. And that man can talk a LOT so it's a good thing he's got eternity. :rotfl:

Oh, I am so sorry for your loss! PLEASE give Wendy a big hug for me and tell her I am thinking of you all. I wish I was closer to bring a casserole and hugs.

Wonder if my chicken casserole would make it through the mail?

So THAT'S what was leaking out of that fedex box we got today... ha ha ha ha. :rotfl2: Thanks for the virtual hug :grouphug:

I am so sorry to hear about Wendy's dad. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers.

My condolences go out to your family Jordy, Derek and Wendy.

At least you're able to remember the good times at a time like this? That's very good.

When my grandmother passed away, my family took it really hard. She passed just 2 months before 2 of my cousins were born. I kept asking why God didn't let her stay to see her grandchildren. It was really hard on me.

600 at the funeral?? Your uncle was a popular man! Even with a big family!

Jordan, Wendy, Derek...
I am so sorry for your loss.
Your family is in my thoughts and prayers

Jordan, Wendy, Derek, and family, so sorry for your loss

I am so sorry for your loss. All of you, Wendy, Derek, Jordan and your family are in my prayers.

Oh Jordan, you've been shouldering a lot. :grouphug: and prayers for you, Wendy, and Derek. I'm so sorry.

Please extend my condolences to Wendy and your entire family.

Again... appreciate all the warm thoughts from you all...

I am so sad to hear of your loss. Big  coming from Az. Boy God must have been in need of some great people up there, My Mom, TK's Mom, Wendy's Dad, Ginny, and Mya Rose. All wonderful people I have "met" through the Dis.

It's a big DIS reunion up there... hee hee hee. :cloud9:

My DMIL, as you know, passed away in January, and also had cancer. But, that is not what took her life. She had an embolism and went very quickly. In many ways, we actually rejoiced about that, because a long, drawn out battle with cancer is so very, very hard. You never know what the Lord spared your uncle from by taking him this way. His ways are so much higher than our own.

Regardless, our family is praying for you all from WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY over here in Blankistan. Truly you have many from all over the world standing with you. :grouphug:

Yes, our pastor was just talking tonight in his sermon about how before his father passed away, he had advanced Alzheimers and didn't know any of them, was basically bedridden and not himself anymore and it was hard that those were the last memories of him... so we can be thankful that our last memories were pretty much of him being like he normally was, and just a few days in the ICU before he passed... so we can have good memories of him as he normally was... :) It's amazing how widespread the DIS can reach... to think we have prayers from around the world covering us... such a blessing. :littleangel:

Rev. Dave looks like such a sweet man! I know he's looking down & watching over all of you from heaven!

:littleangel: :littleangel: :littleangel: Thanks for that! It's a great reminder and comfort!

Love and prayers are with you and Wendy and all your family now.

Yes, it's quite comforting that we know it's not goodbye forever, but just "see you later"... to that end, today Dylan wanted to ask Jesus into his heart so he could be sure to get to heaven to see Grandpa David again. So we prayed and he made the big decision! :lovestruc:love: Now he tells people that his spirit will be able to see Grandpa's spirit when they get to heaven. It was a good day. :littleangel:

Yes, although we will miss him and were hoping he'd be around longer, perhaps God knew that his quality of life would have declined and that would have been harder on him than to be taken now... now we'll just have to wait a little longer to do all the "plans" we had for the future... boy, that heavenly Disney Cruise Line trip is going to be AWESOME! Hee hee hee.

Appreciate that GB...

Thank you all for "being there" for us, during good times and bad.

And Jordan... get that next installment posted so we can enjoy some really good times and good laughs!!!! popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn::

Love your thoughts - A DCL in heaven? Yes, that would be heaven!:goodvibes Never thought of that before, but I'm putting it on my list! :rotfl2:

Love that Dylan felt God calling him through this, and at a young age! I asked Jesus in my heart at the age of 6

Hi Tammie... I know... my dad had a lot of vacation plans, one of them being our DCL Alaska trip next August... so I can only hope we can have that experience in heaven... ahhhhhhh, how great that would be!

And yes, it was a very sweet experience with Dylan... now he can look forward to seeing Grandpa again.

I have been away for a few days, so I just read the last 2 updates.

First, let me say how sorry I am for your loss. Even when others are sick, there is no easy way to prepare to say goodbye to someone. I am so glad your family is so supportive to one another.

Derek & Wendy - what a joyous day for Dylan and for you both. That just moved me to tears when I read it. The legacy that is being passed down in your family is a special thing. Congratulations!

Jordan - continued prayers for you. When you listed all that you are doing right now, it just shows how strong you are to be dealing with all of those changes in your life. You are facing them head-on and that is something that a lot of people wouldn't be able to do.

I hope that you are enjoying your time away with your family this week. :goodvibes

Just stopping in to say hi! :goodvibes Thinking about you Jordan, as I start planning for our next trip to Disneyworld. Hope that you and your whole family are holding up through this really difficult time.

This is the best celebratory way to honor one's life if I've ever heard of it. It truly blesses my heart to hear Dylan make such a strong heartfelt decision, what an honoring send off! I bet your father was celebrating in heaven along with everyone else when Dylan accepted Christ!! party:

Silver linings....

Wendy !! My Mum had alzheimers and I know how it felt when she died !!The Mum I knew had been dead for years , that is the sad thing about alzheimers , that which made you, YOU dies but the body lives !! The blessing is that when they do pass the grief of the family is not so intense !! When my Dad dies I was in serious denial and grief but Mum's was much easier!! How BLESSED it is that Dylan will see his Grandfather again!!

Wendy, Derek and family~ my condolences for the loss of your Dad :grouphug: What a beautiful story about Dylan, it's amazing the little things that kids say that can be SO profound! :lovestruc
