Beginning July 19 (Today), Lightning McQueen from Disney Pixar’s “Cars” and “Cars 2” joins the excitement at Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Lightning McQueen replaces the Herbie the Love Bug segment in the show. Guests can still see Herbie the Love Bug in the Studio Backlot Tour attraction.

Very exciting I hope that he'll still be there when we get to go. My DS would be so happy to see him doing stunts.

Since it was closed, I'm guessing there were some changes other than switching out Herbie for McQueen.... anything else new? Anyone changes to show times?

Last I had... show times were 1:20pm and 4:30pm every day... and a 11am show on Sat. and Sun.???

I haven't seen it in DHS but I have seen the updates in Paris which are probably about the same... basically Lightening McQueen comes out for a little bit searching for a "Secret Weapon" Car... here are a couple pictures

Thanks for the pics, Peter Pan! DS is going to be so excited to see the show and Lightning!

Ugh, just as lame as we all thought it would be. The show was already kind of slow moving and drawn out... So lets add 4 minutes of Lightning McQueen driving around slowly. Because that's what people came to see in a car stunt show, right?

It does not fit in at all.
Boy, I have to agree. This sequence just doesn't fit in at all. I never thought Herbie fit in either. I guess they want to give families with small children something they are familiar with to encourage them to attend the stunt show.

I agree. Where's the speed. All the other cars go fast...... I was really looking forward to this. Will probably still go to Lights Motors Action but I'm not going to bend my plans around just to do it.

My 4 year old is going to LOVE seeing Lightning McQueen in the show! Most kids these days didn't know who Herbie was anyway, but it was still fun seeing him cut in half.

My opinion, but I have to disagree that LMA is a slow moving and drawn attraction. I mean, these are REAL stunts afterall. :thumbsup2:worship: It takes time for the cars to reposition, get jumps/props/etc setup. I thought they did a good job by having the voiceover of the director to help keep you interested during these short transitions.

I totally agree. This was one of the highlights of my son's trip last year, and Lightning McQueen will make it that much better for him.

Yeah, true. But for the record, Herbie drove faster as half a car than Lightning McQueen is driving there. They just don't build them like they used to. :) Now I'm in the mood for a Herbie Movie-a-thon.
