Life is good, a DH update

Hi everyone, it's time for another DH update.
We went to the orthopedic Dr. on Monday and he is very pleased with DH's progress. He said that DH can start to take off the brace and take tiny, baby steps with that foot, using both crutches of course. He's to very slowly work up to walking with a cane. This will take a couple of months, but it's good, steady progress.
DH asked if he could go back to work next month and the doc just laughed and said "April, at the absolute earliest, but probably not before May." I expected that answer so I wasn't disappointed.
The Dr will probably want to take out the screws and pins in May, so that will mean another month or two off work. So, it will be a full year without any income coming in the house from DH. But, that won't matter 10 years from now. If DH doesn't take care of this properly now, that will matter 10 years from now!!
I'm taking DH today for his first appointment for aqua physical therapy. This is just for the evaluation, it will probably be another couple of weeks before he actually gets in the pool, but it's all forward movement!

Hope this isn't too boring for everyone. Your support has meant a lot to us and I wanted to keep everyone updated. We're thrilled with this news and keeping positive attitudes.

How wonderful! Congratulations to your husband! It sounds like you both have a good attitude, and I really believe that's half the battle. Please continue to keep us updated on his progress.

I know being without his income must be tough, but like you said, the consequences down the road if this isn't taken care of now would be high.
