Life’s too short...to never sleep in a treehouse! 8/27 TR is up! Link in siggie

A little behind...

What an interview!!! I still can't get over the six hours!! Wow and another round scheduled tomorrow!! Good luck!! It sounds like you are doing great though!:thumbsup2

Love to hear about the shopping!!! I definitely agree with you about shorts! UGH! It's always so hard to find something that fits well. I really should think about getting some new ones for our trip as well. But...I'm not looking forward to going through all that.:sad2: Sandals on the other hand I need and I'm excited about!! The only problem is that I still haven't found any that I really like..plus here the stores are just barely starting to put them out. I'll have to look again this weekend!!

Can't wait to hear how tomorrow goes!!:)

In the buff, baby! NO!! J/K. Things on the top side aren't what they once were after nursing 5, can't be risking making things worse than they already are. :lmao:

I wear something really similar to this. Mine's green and very comfy! Dries super quick, is not heavy, and is easy to swim in. I love it!!!! :thumbsup2

After I get back to exercising as I should I may feel better about poolside attire, right now, there's just no way I'd feel comfortable in getting things covered up that have no business scaring people to death. Trauma like that at Disney is just not necessary. :rotfl2:

I hear you. This is why Carissa and I discuss concrete undergarments for said exercising activity.

Though oddly I don't think it has a thing to do with nursing but rather a strange thing that has been happening as I've gotten older.

I love that swim dress, you posted that somewhere once and it's adorable. More fabric than I'd want in the water but it's super cute. Pants though...can't quite get my arms around pants.

As far as poolside attire being traumatic....maybe in Europe (retina's still scarred recalling folks in g-strings who had no business being in them...not that anyone really does, or going topless) but I see a lot of one piece suits with the built in skirts that are more modest. Not as modest as your darling dress up there but not bad either.

Does that make me immodest?

hmmmn....:rotfl:

You mean DJ would waer capris :lmao::lmao:

I should really ask Jeff what he thinks about manpri's. I'm not sure. Me personally, I don't mind them at all but it does take a certain kind of guy to pull it off. And the right shoes.

:rotfl:

I have a feeling I may have better luck online in the shorts area but am not quite willing to bite the bullet yet as I don't want to get stuck paying for the return. They've figured it out with shoes (free returns) they need to do it with clothes!

Really though lets face it, most clothes are not fun to shop for anymore. Jeans, swimsuits, shorts...all have their own trauma. Sweaters and dresses are impossible to find and there is a lot of ugly shirts out there. It's a fashion slump and the prices don't match it!

I had a return after Christmas and literally was at Macy's for hours trying to find something to exchange it for. I have never seen so many ugly things in my life.

When I said pants, I meant more like what you see here- shorts, really. Although, they are cut like pants, but short. If that makes sense. You put them on like pants and are cut above the knee. I know what you mean about g-strings and topless. I mean why bother? Same thing in Thailand- mostly the Swedes? So, if you need 2 square inches, then seriously- is it to show off the hibiscus on the front?? I don't get that! :confused3

No, there are lots of great one pieces out there! In fact, I'd love a tankini too, but would just feel too uncovered for me. I'm out of shape, and would be constantly uncomfortable in less that what I have. I want lots of hibiscuses. :lmao:

You're up EARLY today!

I so couldn't sleep! No idea why. :confused3 I am ready to head back to bed though to try again for a last few hours. DH is in the village today- leaving in a few hours, and I always worry just a teensy- the roads are soooooooooooooooo dangerous here!

Those are cute but a little heavier than I like. Without TMI (though of course it is) my feet would sweat in those and they'd slide off! I am looking at these...which may be too strappy...and are more than I feel like spending. I'm either looking to go this route or a dressier (with support) thong style sandal (yeah, everyone go ahead...it's what they are!)

Although I did spend that much for my Keens and I  my Keen flip flops.

http://piperlime.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=7419510121075&cid=35978

Those are VERY cute - But I have problem feet - so I shop solely for comfort. I would worry that the narrow straps would cut in or rub and cause blisters. Of course, I spend all summer in my Teva Mush flip flops, so you can tell how fashion conscious I am! Not!;)

I love the clothes on the Piperlime site! I've never heard of it?! Do they have stores out by you? It looks like its owned by the same co. as Old Navy and Banana?

I had a return after Christmas and literally was at Macy's for hours trying to find something to exchange it for. I have never seen so many ugly things in my life.

Tell me about it! I did the same thing last week. Well, not a return - but I was trying to find something cute on the sale racks. My friend and I had an hour to blow before our movie, and I thought I'd pick up some end of season deals. The deals were there - but it was all hideous!

Okay, and you need to look at the 'short-waisted' problem with your glass-half-full eyes: The flip side is that you've got long legs! Gee, I'd hate to have that problem!:rolleyes1

I shop for comfort too which is why I avoid the thicker straps lol, feet get way too sweaty. We will see I actually broke down and ordered these, I like them by far the best out of what I've seen and the sole looks fabulous. If not they go back, free returns! It really depends on how soft, or not, the straps are. They "look" fairly supple but who knows.

I  my Teva Mush and wear them all the time for running around. They will be going to FL for sure, probably Cali but not sure about that.

Piperlime and Athleta are owned by Gap but are 100% online only. I haven't really looked at the clothes on Piperlime to be honest, I didn't even realize they had clothes until recently. I believe (and could be wrong) Gap started Piperlime primarily for shoes to complete with Zappos. Like Zappos, they've added clothes. I did check out their shorts but that's about it.

I also ordered one pair of shorts and a sun dress from Athleta. Since it's only free exchanges and I had a lot in my shopping cart I figure I will see if the sale items work and if not then exchange for the full price options as there are 2 other shorts and a skort I'd like to try but don't want to eat any shipping either way if I can avoid it, or return fees! More work for me, if it was free returns on everything (only the shoes) I'd have ordered it all now and just sent back what didn't work which could have meant I spent a lot more. So their loss. :rotfl:

LOL on the long legs! I never thought about it that way before...valid point and a nice way to look at it for sure :goodvibes

Guys, feel free to tune out.

The Green Bay Packers won the first two Super Bowls, in 1967 and '68.
Followed by the Jets, the Chiefs, the Colts, and the Cowboys.
Then the Dolphins won two in a row in '73 and '74, followed by two by the Steelers in '75 and '76.

Among the many uses for duct tape, it is great at keeping potato chip bags closed and can also be used to remove unsightly hair.

Ted Williams had a career batting average of .344 and hit 521 home runs.

Martin Landau was originally offered the role of Spock on the TV series "Star Trek", but declined.

John Stockton holds the record for the most assists in a career with 15,806; more than 5,000 more than Mark Jackson, who holds second place on the list with 10,323.

Babette March was the first model to grace the cover of a Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, in 1964.

Is it safe yet?

I can see it now. If we used duct tape on a bag of chips, just what would happen when someone tried to open them later?

Chip explosion.

Very interesting on the 2nd point. Albeit painful.

was she worthy?

for the moment

no pix of purchases?

Nope. Most are just on order, the only thing actually here is the park bag that I'm less than thrilled with.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

That last exchange was way high up on the funny factor. I suppose of (some) women can memorize Vera bag model names, stats are fair game for men. Duct tape use #247:

Stopping a leaky tent by adhering to the faulty seam.

No Vera bag model names here but we have packed Duct Tape on trips just in case we needed perform #247.

Of course the seam will be ruined forever if you try to remove the tape. Not unlike the aforementioned unwanted hair. Or skin under the (now removed) hair.

Assumes leakage is at the seam though. Not seepage from kids jamming everything in the world against the edges of the tent and then torrential rain arriving in the middle of the night. One thing duct tape really can't help with.

It does work well as a giant bandaid if you tear your oil pan driving over something you shouldn't drive over in a car you've had lowered to up the cool factor.

Oh wait, that wasn't me.

YES, done the car repair thing too! Geez, what duct tape can't do...

or seepage FROM THE CHILD itself. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

HA! Yeah, the first 3 days of our trip in April was solid rain; our tent sprung a hundred leaks- so we bagged it and got a hotel the 2nd 2 nights.

I'd say the point you put duct tape on your tent, it'd be time for a new one. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

exactly! I seem to remember reading about the unexpected hotel nights. What did we do before duct tape?

Actually I don't know if we even have any around, I think Jeff used it all up on that oil pan a couple of years ago and never bought a new roll.

I shudder to think of pulling that stuff off of a child's skin....

I am so with you on the shorty-shorts thing. I have a ghetto-bootie, anyway, so short shorts are a no-no. As far as sandals go, I don't know how you feel about Crocs, but I'm going to get these:

$40 is great, considering I'll be wearing them to work, as well.

as far as crocs go, those are about as cute as they get! Actually I don't mind some of the flip flops. For me, that rubber on my foot...eew. I just don't like them at all. But you never know, I do look at them at the croc's store and occasionally see a pair and think...ok maybe I should try them but I figure my keens fit that bill for now.

I ordered the earth shoes, we will see. Very pricey but the reviews are top notch and they look like they'd be really versatile. I'll post pics after they arrive if I decide to keep them. It's about what those Keen's cost and they were worth every penny. They are supposed to arrive on Thursday, as is the shorts and sundress and I'll go from there! If they work between those and my Keens I'll have any possible outfit covered (other than date night heels lol), though my beloved Teva Mush will come for the pool in FL and I may bring my Privo's to Cali but they will definitely be too warm for FL.

Hey Cynthia!

Congrats on nailing that grueling interview day! The shopping must've been so therapeutic!! :goodvibes

California, here you come! :sunny:
