I’m planning a huge trip next year and I fear that my friend whom I’m planning this trip with will bail out on me.

I’ve done my last two trips solo – nothing new. I’m still going regardless. I also did the Dining Plan for last year’s solo trip – I don’t have any problems at all with eating at a sit-down restaurant by myself.

My question is this:

I’ve always wanted to try Liberty Tree Tavern but it is a family style meal.
So to those who have zero problems with eating at restaurants by themselves, would you be willing to eat at the Liberty Tree Tavern alone?

Lunches are not served family style, you order an entrée off a menu, if you want to go that route. But there are no characters at lunch. They must serve single party tables for dinner, so as long as you're comfortable with it, go for it! I bet you'd get a lot of character interaction.

I want to experience the dinner and I'd be all for lots of character interaction - the chipmunks are my favorite. I’m comfortable eating alone – normally. However, I’ve never done a family style dinner like what they do at LTT. Would they just serve me a plate of food being solo or would they still put the platters out allowing me to grab what I want? Have you ever seen anyone solo there before for dinner?

LTT solo but I wouldn't hesitate to do so. The characters are very entertaining.

I don't know how they serve solo diners, but I'm sure it happens and they know what to do. Go, relax and enjoy. Let Disney take care of the details.

My thoughts exactly! I really have no idea how they'd serve the meal, just bring out smaller portions would be my guess.

I did LTT character meal in March solo. It was great! The wait staff went out of their way to make me feel special, took my pictures, talked to me. I was asked if there was anything about the meal I didn't want, I said no and they brought out a single serving of everything on the menu. Too much food:rotfl: :rotfl: , but it was very good.

I just asked a similar question on the solos board-got lots of positive answers!

I have done LTT dinner by myself, and I really enjoy it. The food is wonderful, and the character interaction is great!

I really like this restaurant. Give it a try :)

The characters spend more time with the larger, family tables, but they do a circuit of the room and you should be able to interact with them all during your meal. You might be able to flag down a server to take your picture with a characters -- I figure if they do it for families, they should be able to do it for single diners as well. As a couple, we are always seated at a table that is so tiny it seems made for a single, so you should feel quite snug and not floating at a big table.

I love LTT! I took my mom there for her bday a couple of years ago! Everyone is great! Like it was said before-I bet for a solo party they'd just bring smaller portions and if the amount of food they gave two women is any indication...you'll have WAY to much food! Everything is really tasty though and if you're like us trying a little of everything is good!
As far as pics go-if you keep an eye out the characters always have a chaparone (SP?) with them! (To try and keep people from attacking the people in the costumes!! No Tigger incidents please!! ) Most of them are very willing to take your picture! When we were there we had several of the wait staff offer to take pics of my mom and I together with Goofy (my fav) and Minnie (Mom's fav!)
In fact my DBF of 6 years and I will probably be eating there next week when we're there to celebrate our anniversary! Yummmmmmm!
You'll have a great time! ENJOY! :woohoo:

It's true. The portions are very big for a solo person...but soooo good. I love eating there.
