Hey Everybody! Well, we are heading back down for another holiday trip this December and we always try to do one new meal for each trip. This trip we were considering LTT as our character meal. We normally do Garden Grill but have always wanted to try LTT. It will be all adults except for our baby girl who will be 7 months at the time. I'm just looking for everyones thoughts on the food, character interaction, etc. Thanks for the input everybody!:wave2:

Hi,
We just got back yesterday and one of our meals was at LTT. We had not done that one in the past, but it was good. We were in there late...9:15 and we were some of the last to leave, so we had lots of character interaction. They kept coming back to our table before they said goodbye for good. Pluto even sat down and started "drinking" my 3 year old daughter's chocolate milk, "eating" my 6 year old son's macaroni and cheese, and giving my 2 year old son high fives. They loved it. As for the food, it was good. Meats, mac and cheese, green beans, rolls, mashed potatoes. I can't remember what the dessert was. After nine days of meals, I get them mixed up! Anyway, it was fun! I hope you have a great trip. Ours was wonderful...even with the torrential downpours we encountered!

we've done both the character dinner as well as lunch at LTT

at dinner, the characters are plentiful and make the rounds

the food is really good - we actually prefer going at lunch for the pilgrim's feast (turkey dinner, with crabcakes appetizer) - no characters at lunch, which makes it a quieter meal

You will get different opinions on this but I love LTT! I really liked the food and the characters are great. I love the fact that it is served family style. It's more relaxing than a buffet in my opinion.:cool1:

The LTT is my fave character meal. I personally love the food and the character interaction is terrific.

It's the only sit down restaurant at MK that I like as I am not a fan of Tony's.

LTT and GG both have great interaction with the characters I think. I like the food a little better at LTT dinner. My DD loved the mac & cheese - tasted like the same Stouffer's I can make in my microwave to me. But the salad and rolls were excellent. And the mashed potatoes were good too. Meat was good. I don't like the fish at the GG but that is my personal preference. When I went with my mother and sister last year, they loved it.

Thanks for all the great info everybody! With all the positive reviews, I think we will give it a try. I agree that there isn't much in the way of TS at MK, we will do Tony's from time to time during the parade with an outdoor table but, are never thrilled with the food. Looking forward to trying LTT, thanks again everybody!:wave2:

We went last year and are going again this year (as we are Garden Grill too). It was great. The food was good and so was the character interaction. Have fun.

Forgot to mention it is just dh & I. Our kids have 4 legs and fur.

So here's the bad news. We use to love LTT however one trip we had cold food, half the portions from before, bad service (our waiter actually forgot about us and we had to ask another server for drink and plate refils as well as our check) and dirty dishes and then we had to pay for it. So we stopped going for a few trips and found GG. However we did go back on our last trip and the characters were great, but the food portions were still limited - we're a party of 4 and we barely get enough meat for two. I work in the restaurant industry so trust me I understand having a bad night and I'm from MA so I'm all about the pilgrim style of food.

I'm a no, but DH is a yes.

It's one of our favorties, done it on both of our trips. Food has been good and it's family style which means no getting up and down!

Food: No comparison, the Garden Grill was very good. I don't like catfish, but loved theirs, the beef was wonderful and had more. The veggies and salad were very fresh and loved them. LTT was what I expected, a thanksgiving dinner cooked in mass. Gravy was needed on all meat. The mac & cheese was yukky, the bread was good.

Service & Atmosphere: Garden Grill the service was good, not great but we had room to eat and privacy in the booth. Enjoyed a relaxing meal. LTT the service was good and server attentive, but our table so small the food barely fit. The tables were very tight against others, including a screaming family.

Characters: Did a good job of making the rounds and being good with all at both. They came by twice at both, but only at Garden Grill did they stop again for a moment.

We were on the "complimentary" dining as Disney referred to it, so the question is would I return to either if I had to pay..........
LTT = No (I won't even go back on complimentary dining), Garden Grill = probably.

If you get small portions, ask for more, its all you can eat. I wonder if they have cut down due to the waste. I know each time we have been there, we have not eaten half of what they bring. Now its been since January of 2006 since we went so if we go next month to small portions, I will have to ask for more for a change!

I did have bad service there once, but the other four or five times have been great. I think this one gets a lot of flack because Stouffers sponsers it and people envision them heating up giant size pans of frozen food! It's not my mom's Thanksgiving dinner, but my mom never served hers with visits from Disney characters so I am okay with that!

My parents had lunch there today and said it was fantastic. I know the majority of people go for the character dinner, but keep this in mind too.

LTT is one of our favorite places to eat while at Disney...I love the atmosphere, and the characters are very engaging, but the thing I like the best is the food..It's nice to have family style, home cooked food in the middle of a week where you are used to buffets.

It's not for everyone, but it works for us..we are looking forward to going again in December..

We had lunch there this last trip and it was my favorite meal....I am sure the choices are different for dinner...but I had the crab cake appetizer, liberty pot roast and the apple tart...I have been craving that meal for 2 weeks now...this will be an added ressie for all our Disney trips from now on...

Service was very good too.

For our next trip we are having dinner at LTT (never been before).

The reason I chose this restaurant was I wanted one sit down, family style meal with homestyle cooking. Nothing too fancy, just comfort food. It should make for a good break from the more adventurous eating I have planned.

We (DH, 2 DDs - 5 & 7, and DS - 2) ate at LTT on our last trip to WDW. Everyone loved the food. The characters only came by the table once, but they took their time and interacted with each child. This was one of our best meals. It is on our must go again list.

I have never eaten at GG so I cannot make a comparison of the two, but I don't think you will regret going to LTT.

We went to LTT for the first time last week. I really wasn't all that impressed. We had a good server, and the characters were fine - not much interaction with them though, just quick pictures and they were off. The food just wasn't all that great. Why does the whole place smell like Spaghetti??? Anyone else notice that? hahaha

We enjoyLTT for dinner. Have never been for lunch.

Character interaction was the best we have seen at any character meal (and we have done most of them). Chip and Dale in one location at the same time is a biggy for DS6 (why, I don't know :confused3 ).

The food is is good, hearty traditional fare. Yes, it is Stouffers food. Luckily, we like Stouffers at home (convenient during the hectic work week).

We don't eat there every vacation but always seem to do it at least every 3rd trip. It is comfort food and and the quality has been consistent for us.

If you consider yourself a "foody", you may want to look elsewhere (no Duck in mango sauce here- Donald would be horrified). :thumbsup2

Regards,

We have always enjoyed LTT.

We often go there for a late sit-down lunch. Have also been for dinner & thought the food was good. Character interaction was great.
