Hello,

We are thinking of doing the Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch. I've read a bunch of reviews on this forum and it seems like people either love it or hate it. Do you think this is just variations in people's personal taste or do they have some good days and some bad? We usually do counter service for lunch, but I thought it might be nice to have a more relaxing lunch this time and give everbody's legs a little time to rest. Thanks in advance for any comments.

It one of our favorie lunch places. Lunch is not a character meal. Their HAmburgers look wonderful, but I've always odered an entree...either the Turkey or Pot Roast..both are very good.

We had lunch at LTT a few years ago. You're right about it being a nice place to sit down and relax for a while during a busy day of park touring. We thought the food was pretty good, and the atmosphere was perfect on a hot day in the parks. Since I've only been there once, I don't know the answer to your question about whether the mixed reviews are based on inconsistency or just varying tastes. Maybe someone who's been there more than once will have some input on that one.

LTT is a great place for lunch. I absolutely love the pot roast, and if the roasted red pepper soup is on the menu, get it. It's wonderful!

LTT is a so so place for dinner. Character interaction is great, but the food is mediocre at best (with the exception of the salad which is pretty darned tasty).

I have never eaten here for lunch, only dinner! We did enjoy that though! But,I have made a ps for lunch for our March trip! I think it will make for a nice break! :jumping4:

We've eaten twice as it has become one of our favorites and a must-do for our next trip. We've had both the pot roast and turkey/dressing. We're pretty critical when it comes to expensive dining and loved everything both times. We ordered the crab cakes both times and loved them. I've also heard the burgers are pretty good. The atmosphere is calming and relaxing. Try to time your meal to end about 30 minutes before the parade starts then you just walk outside and take a seat at the entrance to view the parade.

Two thumbs up from the Moreno's!

We always have lunch on our first day at WDW at Liberty Tree Tavern and really enjoy the variety and quality of the food. On our last trip, we also did the character meal dinner and thought the food was okay. Many people on the boards complain that the food at the dinner tastes like a Stouffer's frozen dinner..which it kind of did, but still was tasty. Lunch is a whole other thing with the entrees freshly made and unique.

We've eaten LTT for both lunch and dinner, and we greatly prefer lunch. We try to get a late PS so that it's not as crowded (though for Pete's sake DON'T be late!!), and by that time pretty much everyone is lined up outside for the parade. We love the burgers, but the pot roast and turkey are both good, as well. The soups are good, too, and their apple dessert is yummy!

The reason I say don't be late is b/c last time we had a late lunch PS, I was on time but the other member of my party was a little (like, less than 5 minutes) late. The CM at the hostess stand was *not* happy with us and acted like we were pretty much the rudest ppl on the planet. We got a terrible table, and our waiter kind of appeared after about 10 minutes like, "Oh, I didn't know there were people here!" It would've been different if there hadn't been several tables of people still eating or just ordering, and not long after we sat down they sat a party of 4 near us, so we weren't holding them back from setting up for dinner.

Anyway, definitely try LTT for lunch, but be on time for your PS.

We've had lunch at LTT 3 times and we have always come away happy. Two of those 3 times we didn't have p.s. and this past July at midday I told my dh he was nuts when he suggested trying to eat there as walk ins instead of counter service as I had planned. Wow - was I surprised when we only had a FIVE minute wait! I'm not going to advise going without a p.s. but we sure have been lucky! Our family has ordered various things from the pot roast, the Pilgrim's Feast (turkey and fixings), chicken sandwiches, salads, and burgers and all have been fine. Our service has always been very good but in July we had a cm who was just OUTSTANDING. It is also a lovely, cool, relaxing atmosphere. I guess you can tell I like it there for lunch, yes? LOL.

It's a "must do" lunch stop every trip for us. We always have a PS just incase and on some trips we have needed it. The Pot Roast is a favorite...

Good Luck!

Hey thanks for all the positive comments. I think we will definitely do lunch there. It sounds like we will really enjoy it.

We have had lunch twice and loved it both times. This last trip mom & I each ordered an appetizer then we shared the pot roast....told the server up front we were sharing and they split the portions before it was brought out to us. There was plenty of food!
On our first visit they brought bread to the table with a wonderful honey butter on our second visit no bread came so we asked for some and the server said that unless you ask they don't bring it anymore. I commented that how would someone who has never been there know to ask for bread unless the server mentions it....he just looked at me funny and walked away.

So member to ask for your bread at lunch...the honey butter is to die for!

Happy eating.

We ate there for lunch on our last trip and we'll definitely be going back again:) We were on a Plan, and our waitress helped us get our $'s worth;) We asked for a smoothie, no problem. We asked for water, she brings us bottled, you get the idea... I had the crabcake, DH had the fried cheese, I had the pot roast, DH had the salmon (next time I'm getting that!), we both had the Liberty shortcake for dessert. Everything was great, the atmosphere was relaxing and quiet, a perfect lunch spot:) HTH!!

DH and I thought the lunch at LTT was remarkably mediocre, especially considering the price. We'd rather do counter service.

We really like LTT for lunch. We never had to ask for refills on our drinks (I know it may all be the same but their iced tea was so good - maybe I was just really thirsty), and all of our food was good except dd was disappointed in her cheese sticks appetizer. I too, asked about the bread they used to serve only our server was very sweet about it and said, "We are only allowed to bring it out if it's a special request and that sounds like a special request to me!" He brought out a LOT and we stuffed ourselves on it.

We did LTT for dinner and loved it (our waiter could've been better though). We have a PS for lunch for our next trip. I figured that way I could get the turkey and fixins while my DH could get a burger.

Thanks for the tip about the bread - I wil be sure to ask!

Try the Colony Salad for lunch on a warm day. Very refreshing!

My DF and I ate there on a whim our first day at MK in October. We were so impressed that we made sure we went back before our trip was over (both times for lunch). BTW, I had the cheeseburger with bacon both times (yummy) and DF had the crabcakes (which I hate as a general rule but DF said they were excellent). The 2nd time we split a dessert--somthing chocolate that was really good. Hope this helps and you have a great time!

Oooooh, that sounds like a wonderful lunch. My favorites, too.

We have had dinner there 3 times & have always been happy. As someone else said the salad is very good.
