I just got my ticket for MNSSHP, and in the letter it states the following;

"Take time to treat yourself to a scrumptious family style Not-SO-Scary dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern."

Does this mean that they have a special meal planned, or that the characters are in MNSSHP costumes or???

The meal will be the same, but from everything I've seen in pictures and heard, the characters change a little bit.
Minnie wears a little ghost mask over her eyes, Goofy wears a Happy halloween apron, and I forgot what the rest do. I'm sorry!
But, yes there should be a slight change in how the characters look, but not the food.

Yes, the characters wear costumes. We did the dinner for MNSSHP. We enjoyed it and would defintely go back. Our server was great and even signed DD's autograph book. :)

we're doing it this year and very excited. we love the food there anyways and since the characters will be in costume it will be even better!

Yes-the characters are wearing "Halloween" costumes and the guests are usually decked out as well :) It was so much fun and my girls had a great time!

That sounds really cute. Thanks everyone!

Not meaning to hijack but is MNSSHP the only time the characters are in costume? For instance during MVMCP, are they in holiday attire?

not only are the characters in costume, some of the staff is also made up zombie like and such. it is a must for us, but we love this restaurant at any time of year. the strawberry vinigarette is the best salad dressing i have ever had.:thumbsup2

FYI...

It's not really costumes like you'll see the characters wearing in the park for meet and greets; it's really just an eye mask or a festive apron. I don't want folks to get the wrong idea.

Making an ADR for LTT if you are not there during the day for the park but there for the MNSSHP. We do have park hopper and can enter the park at anytime but not sure yet what else we are doing that day as it is the last full day of our trip.

Unfortunately, it's probably booked solid by now.

I wouldn't eat any later than 5:30p before a party. That way we're done just before the party officially begins.

I got an ADR for MNSSHP on Oct. 18th - and decided to do the earliest possible dinner so I could rest up (from overeating....) before heading out to the party!

I'm glad they'll add some extra festive touches for the characters.

Unfortunately the only ressie we could get was 7:35. Is that going to be okay? will we miss alot?

Personally I wouldn't eat during the party. You'd mmiss trick or treating and finding a spot for the first parade if that's the one you want to see.

I'd rather eat earlier elsewhere or do CS meal than eat at LTT and miss the party. The tickets are so expensive that I'd feel I'm wasting party time by eating there.

Good luck!

We agree with Beattyfamily - we'd never waste our party time on a sit down meal. We did it one time and were amazed at how much it cut into the time we had for the party events. We plan a late lunch/early dinner prior to party start time. Our favorites are Crystal Palace. We also like LTT but not during a party. This November we are trying an early dinner at 1900 Park Faire prior to MVMCP. In August for P&P Party, we have a real early dinner at CP. No MNSSHP for us this year unfortunately - DD really wanted to do the P&P in August. We have AP's so park admission to eat isn't an issue for us but if you are not planning on using a park day on the day of the party, they will start letting you in around 4 with your party ticket.

Hey,

I would cancel the 7:35 ADR and keep trying for a time BEFORE the party starts.

We have a 4:00 ADR which is early for us to eat dinner but, I'd rather that than lose party time.

If we couldn't get an early LTT we would have tried Tony's or CP.

If you keep the 7:35 you will lose at least 1 to 1 1/2 hour...maybe even more.

Whatever you decide have a great time!!

Keep trying. I had a 6:20 ADR at first, but then a few days later a 4:25 opened up. We treat that as as late late lunch, early dinner and will have time after to explore Fantasyland before the party starts - and plan to be near the character trails in Toontown when the party officially begins.

We got a 4:10 last year as they will let you in the park at 4:00. We stayed at the resort that day and ate a late breakfast. It takes nearly 2 hours to eat so I would not get a reservation past 4:30. We got out of LTT just as everyone was leaving the park. It really was fun and kicked off the party in a cool way.

Last year we had a 5:50 ADR for LTT during MNSSHP and finished just as the party officially started (7 pm) This year we haven't decided if we are attending MNSSHP but I have an ADR for LTT at about 5 p.m. on 9/14. This way if we don't do MNSSHP, we will still get to see the characters, and staff, in costume. :goodvibes
