Did anyone one else have a problem coming home from orlando on 7/18 flying into LGA, All flights were cancelled because of a black out, Disney was bringing out baggage to the airport, that was a mistake, it took 2 1/2 hours to get our bags back, no one could find them... It took us hours aand hours to get home.

Actually once you hand your luggage over at the resort, the luggage is out of Disney's control and under the FAA and TSA regulations (which are not designed to be customer friendly.) So it gets transported.... Disney can't stop it. (The service actually is a third party not Disney) I am actually amazed it only took 2.5 hours. I have had flights cancelled where they would not even give us our luggage back.

>>> [and then] hours and hours

Wouldn't things have gone more quickly and more efficiently and you gotten home in not quite so many hours if you let them hold on to the baggage rather than your having to re-check it?

I know it was not Disney's fault, I just can't believe, that no one in baggage claim could yell us where our bags where, first they said on carousel 3 then when there was no bags left, they said 5 then they told me Disney did not get them to the airport yet, which I knew was not true because our flights by that time was 15 past. I was just happy it happen coming home and not going.

So when did you actually get home? Did you have to stay over another night?

never put sodapop in a baby bottle...
totally off topic, but why?

Disregarding the fact that NO ONE needs to drink soda, let alone a baby (why in the world would you give a baby soda?), the constant bathing of a baby's teeth in sugary soda will quickly lead to tooth decay.

oh, that reason... i thought maybe it would explode or something... so, what is good to put in a baby bottle? breastmilk and formula presumably... perhaps apple juice... but not soda... 'cause of the sugar...

so, about that sugar... did a little checking online... per ounce, apple juice has 3.4g sugar... 7Up, 3.2g per ounce... interesting...

We finely got a flight with Delta and flew into Kennedy, that was another nightmare, first we spent an hour on the runway because the plane that was in our gate had a problem and they would not give us another gate, then we are waiting for our luggage and the belt stops working 1/2 hour later it starts again, 2 minutes later it stops then starts and then stops again, after another 1/2 hour someone who works there says they hae to get a tech to coe and fix it, all in all we were there for 2 1/2 hours before our bags come out. I think we got home about 12:00am. We were at Orlando airport at 10:30 tues. morning, over 13 hours trying to get home. I guess it could of be worse, at least we did not have to sleep in the airport.

to continue off topic... the soda will either go flat or if the bottle is on its side one of two things will happen... if the bottle cap is on and secure, the pressure will build up from the carbonation and when you take the cap off you get a nice little fountain. If the bottle cap pops off then the carbonation will slowly cause the soda to leak out the nipple and you end up with a puddle of soda in the bottle bag.

ah, you learn something new every day... whatta sticky mess that would be! and, imo a far better reason than strangers dictating how one should care for the child God entrusted to them...

You are right - apple juice is loaded with sugar.

imo a far better reason than strangers dictating how one should care for the child God entrusted to them...

:rotfl2:

Go ahead and load up your child with sodas and sugary snacks. I won't be the one paying the dental bills or shopping for the kids in the Husky clothes section.

please know that i wasn't attacking... all i did was ask "why" (thinking that i'd get a cool exploding bottle story like i did eventually get) and instead i got attacked as if i should have known the answer and treated like the dregs of parent-dom... along w/a list of all the health related implications (which i actually do and my kids never had soda in a baby bottle, or even in a cup 'til they were close to, if not, school aged) and thinly veiled accusations that i am a bad parent for even *ASKING!*

I don't know where in NY you live, but I wouldn't be caught dead in LaGuardia or Kennedy. I use Islip/MacArthur. What a wonderful little airport! What part of NY are you from?

We usually fly outta LGA, (anything is better than JFK or Newark) but this trip we are trying White Plains (Westchester County) and AirTran.

I love our little airport. Even picking someone up there is a joy. Picking someone up at the other NY airports is a hellish adventure! NEVER AGAIN! Where on LI are you? I am in Sound Beach...on the north shore.

I'll be heading out that way on friday. I am taking the Orient Point ferry Friday afternoon. Love the North Fork, although it is getting so developed now. Makes me sad.
