Anyone know of a good online company that offers quality, affordable varsity letterman jackets?
Thanks for any suggestions!

I don't know about online, but I got both of my DDs at a local awards/trophy/sports place.

We used a local shop too. The jacket brand that we got is Holloway. You'll still need someone to sew on the patches.

We went with a local (OK - 20 miles away but local for us) company too. The rep was able to steer us toward color differences, better graphics for our mascot, etc. The "navy" was amost black and the guy knew that their "royal" was more of a true navy color so that kept us from ending up with the right colors for our school. DS has had more compliments on his jacket that I could imagine & had several fellow athletes "copy" his jacket. They also were able to sew on his patches as mentioned by a PP. Ask coaches for suggestions or have your athlete ask around especially if he sees a jacket he really likes. It's a pretty big expense (at our house anyway!) so you want it to be awesome and for him to love it! Good luck.

For mine my parents went with the local sporting goods shop in town. They were the ones who everyone went to for PE clothes and little league uniforms. They knew our school colors and sewed on the patches.

My personal advice, get it early in high school, don't wait like my parents until my senior year. They spent close to $300 on my jacket, which was only worn occasionally during the winter, and today lyes in my hope chest. Although I did get lots of compliments on it :)

We're going to be dealing with this this year (end of sophmore year, my daughter will letter in Marching Band)and we're going to go with the local shop that does them because if you sit at a sporting event at her school, you can pick out the jackets of the kids who went elsewhere. The colors are a little off, the style of the patches is a bit different ...

We're already prepared that it's going to cost somewhere around $300, but she's worked really hard (and will letter again next year in Concert Band) and I think it's worth getting something that looks "right".

I guess weare lucky in our district. My girls were given their jackets with the school initial but we now have to pay for any/all patches and embroidering. That is what is going to kill us. A friend bought 2 additional patches, one for the back and having the sport put on (I forget where since he doesn't wear it anymore). She told me it cost her slightly over $150 for the work. It took 4 weeks and it was a local company too.

I know many of the kids here quit wearing their jackets as soon as they graduate. It's not cool at the local Universities to be seen wearing your HS jacket. That's why my friend's DS quit wearing his.

I thought it ended up being pretty "budget" in the end. I bought them for both of my DDs when they were freshmen. I gave the coat to them for Christmas that first year. I didn't have to buy a new winter coat for 3 more years!! So I thought it worked out cheaper in the end. My older DD just graduated this year and I finally had to buy her a new winter coat since she started college.
