Barb,

You can go to the Dixie Crossroads website by clicking on this link DixieCrossroads.com. I also have their link in my signature above my photo. Should you get to Dixie Crossroads, order the "Rock Shrimp" broiled, they taste like little lobster tails. The "cornfritters" they serve while you are waiting for your food order are very addicting. We will be going to Dixie Crossroads after our cruise in August, for lunch, before heading to MCO. If you have any more questions feel free to contact me at verandahman2003@yahoo.com

Andy,
OK......... it is 10:50pm here and I am trying to be a good girl on my pre-cruise diet.......

And what MAJOR mistake do I make??

I LOOKED AT THAT MENU!!!! WOW!!!! Can't wait to get there! I may even skip the "MAD DASH BREAKFAST" on sat. morning to save a little extra room....... At the very least it will ease the seperation pangs upon leaving the ship.

Thanks!!
Barbara

PS..... Do you have the big shrimp mail box yet???:jester:

Barbara,

I haven't got the "Rock Shrimp" mailbox as of yet, but, I told Hazel I would like to get one, she gave me "THE LOOK!!!"

LOL!!!

slyhubby....how did you manage to stay in your stateroom so long when they said they want everyone out of their rooms by 8:00 am and off the ship by 9:00 am?

I always order room service coffee the night before also. It also doubles for a wake up call. They always call before bringing the coffee to your cabin.

OK, maybe I'm a loser. I do have some good tips, but can't think of any at the moment b/c I'm too preoccupied with trying to figure out how to get the "countdown" that I see on so many people's posts. Not going again until July 2004, and it's nearly driving me crazy. At least with a countdown, I would feel like I was making a LITTLE bit of progress towards sail date.

Go here and follow the directions for your countdown clock:

My favorite tip from this board was packing clothes in 2 gallon ziploc bags, especially if you have children. I ironed the clothes I planned to pack for each of the kids. After I got done explaining to the kids what an iron was (I never iron) I packed a pair of folded shorts, shirt, socks and underwear in each of the bags and packed them in a suitcase. When you get to the stateroom you just put the ziplocs on a shelf and they are able to pick out a wrinkle free, matching outfit every morning without any help. I packed the suitcases full and the clothes still didn't wrinkle and having just the right amount of clothes keeps you from overpacking.

We're right down the road in Washington Township. Think there's something in the air that makes us NJ people verandah lovers?

Bring an extra suitcase filled with bottles of water. You can buy less expensive bottled water at home and, as you drink the water, you are emptying the suitcase for souvenirs to bring home.

Just bumping because I didn't get to read all of them yet.

Thanks to everybody for these great tips! We are taking our first cruise in October and everybody's hints will definately come in handy. I'm making my list and am heading to the store!

we did not get off until the time they told us we had to be off by and worked backwards. I don't remember the times from 2 1/2 years ago, but as I said, we did our own thing, avoided the high traffic areas, and it worked out so much better than it would have been if we followed the standard routine.
