Let's track the EB PC cruise here

An email from my DD:

Panama Canal was so awesome. Last night when we were going through the Gatun Locks it was raining but it was so beautiful outside. The jungle had fog lifting just over the trees and the skyline was orange...so cool. A storm caught up to us and we were surrounded by fog and you couldn't see anything but the ocean below you.....so cool!!!!!!

We made it to Colombia, it is an Industrial port so not all that beautiful but it is still cool looking!!! The people had a show for us so we were up on deck 4 watching it. It is cloudy and just got done raining and WAY HUMID!!!!! It is hot to me but when you are sitting down with the cool ocean breeze, it is just perfect

Sounds like they are having the best time.

Half asleep all day at work..and a well sulky DH who went to bed at proper sensible time:confused3
But it was great fun and would do all over again

What will we do when there are FOUR ships to track and watch :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Mickey, you have a lot to be responsible for :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

Haha at your husband!!! I think mine would have been the same if I had stayed up any longer! Strange breed men!!

Hi,
Has anyone posted or does anyone know what entertainment is on board? Any performers?
I was on the W.B., and loved the Mickey Dreams acrobats- from a group called Cirque Sublime. I wonder if they are on there again. Also, we had Joey Fatone, wondering who they are going to have.

Thanks everybody and enjoy the cruise!

I hear that the top entertainment is Ali and AJ for the kids...

WELL
that was alot of reading

Andy, just saw your video surprising your wife. I can't tell you how cool that is. She is one lucky woman to have you as her husband!! I knew you were on that cruise but didn't realize until I saw the thread.

Awwwwww shucks, thanks.........

Can anyone tell me if that newly posted track of Gustav is going to affect this cruise at all - as they head back?

I just looked at the track and thought that it may cause the Magic to veer off of her planned course a little.

We are due to visit WDW starting Labor Day with some other Salvation Army Officers who are stationed in Jackson, MS. They are saying that they may have to miss the trip if Gustav hits their part of the coast. :scared:

It would be so much easier for people if you could predict the path but you never know with these storms.

Another quick post from the EBPC (internet is still very slow)

My family and I LOVED Cartegena!! Some folks have been complaining about the street vendors - but we didn't find them any worse than Mexico and WAY better than places like Jamaica. Considering there hasn't been a cruise ship here in months, I thought they were pretty decent :thumbsup2 The city is beautiful. We felt perfectly safe. We were on a tour with "Mr Emerald" and it was very profesional and well done. This is one of the few ports that I would like to come back to and spend more time. One thing that surprised us was that nearly everyone spoke English.

pdarrah

pdarrah, so glad you posted. I have read some bad things about Cartagena so it's good to know how much you enjoyed it. I wasn't sorry we missed it in 2005 but have changed my mind since reading your post. LOL

This is form the WB repo in 2005.

DCL had a video crew onboard to film the Repo and most of it was never seen, I found this on YouTube and wanted to share.

enjoy.

It says it is the Westbound 2008. If you look past the bow of the MAGIC in the MIRAFLORES LOCKS picture you can see the submarine that accompanied us. But at the end when there is a speeded up film of the Gatun Locks there is a container ship that was not there with us. I wonder if they used aerial footage from 2005 and Locks footage for that part from 2005 and meshed it with some 2008 footage. :confused3

Jan :earsgirl:

You're right Jan, I see the sub now. Must be a mixture of both cruises.

disney loves using old b-roll to create a new story. but thats because they didnt know the payment for that transit included a nuke sub accompanying us through the canal.

that, and it gives the viewer the idea of what we got to do, and what it was doing.

I so want to do the panama canal:sad2:
It looks so cool, maybe when shaunie finishes school in 4 years we can do it.

Hey all! Another day at sea! I have to second what Pamela (pdarrah) said about Cartagena. It was very nice. We did a DCL excursion and had a full Pirate bus! Very professional tour. The guide and bus driver were great. We even got to slip into the Hard Roack to get pins and t-****s!

I'd love to come back and spend more time too!

Tina, how many days of this weather have you all had?

It started in Puerto Vallarta, in the afternoon. Rainy in Acapulco and has rained on and off. Cartagena had a bad strom the night before we got there. When we we approaching the port, there was a lot of leaves and debris floating in the water.

how the heck did they get on top of an elevator... they are crazy, maybe put them in the brig, then when ever you get back to fla, ship them to work small world for a few hours...

it was not that bad for us.. but we only had around 500 kids, and most just complained about chicken strips and mac n cheese on the 9th day in a row..

No idea? LOL!
We did has less kids on board....I want to say about 400?

Marilyn, do you remember how many?

I heard a CM say there were only 675 kids on board.

Also If it hasn't been posted. Serveral people were quarantened. I know that one couple went to the Med center and asked for Imodiam (sp?)and got slapped with 2 days in their cabin. Moral of the story carry your own Imodiam!:lmao:

We ate in Puerto Vallarta and made out OK.
