Got an email from my friend last night who is on this cruise and he said it is absolutely wonderful.....can't wait to see all of his pictures when he gets home!
Heard from DD whol loved Cartagena and wants to go back sometime. Sounds like everyone was treated well.
It says it is the Westbound 2008. If you look past the bow of the MAGIC in the MIRAFLORES LOCKS picture you can see the submarine that accompanied us. But at the end when there is a speeded up film of the Gatun Locks there is a container ship that was not there with us. I wonder if they used aerial footage from 2005 and Locks footage for that part from 2005 and meshed it with some 2008 footage.

I was wondering about that today. I know the captain tries to sail around storms but Gustav is pretty darn big, isn't it? I don't know that geography very well so I hope someone can chime in and tell if the Magic can sail around this hurricane and still dock on time (isn't there a special cruise on Sun?)
The special 5 night cruise starts Monday...and I'm on it!
So the Magic better find a way between the 2 storms!
Today they are in Aruba. I hope that they enjoy it as much as we enjoyed Curacao.
I am actually in Aruba this week and ran into some folks from the ship today. They said the cruise has been fabulous and that they loved the canal. They came to the Hyatt where we are staying and I saw a Disney wheelchair so i knew they were from the cruise. I can tell you that they are having a beautiful day today in Aruba. A bit cloudy at times but no rain. I think they will be able to go around the storms.
So what do you guys think about the two storms that might meet up with the Magic?
Disney cruise site says it should not be a problem, it has a pop up on the site.
I was checking to see if I had a room no yet( for the zillioninth time)![]()
