Let's Roast This Pig!- A March/April Birthday TR [Final Wrap Up! 9/27]

When I first saw that picture of that towel dog, I didn't see the face part and thought maybe it was a leftover towel thing from Christmas (because of the colors of the stickers) and that possibly it was a yule log of some sort. Your dad looks like a really fun dude!

Lol that's funny, it does sort of look like a yule log! And yeah my Dad is really fun, definitely one of a kind too:laughing: Glad you're here!

Happy to see your Photobucket is working and now we can see some amazing photos of your trip. Don't you just love the Towel animals and Mickey Towel? I stayed in All Star Music, I wish we could've just left the Mickey shaped Towel on our bed, but of course we needed it. Phooey! I can't wait to see more pictures of ASMo to compare to ASMu.

I can't wait to hear about your adventures in the parks, update soon! :maleficen

Yes thank goodness Photobucket is working again!! The towel creations are the best, I'd always get excited before we opened the room each night, not knowing what we were about to find. I don't know if I have much more pics of ASMo, it was on my list to do, but I never got around to it:rolleyes1 Hopefully I'll update this weekend!:)

I LOVE the nails! I was just telling DH for our Sept trip I want my toes like that!

Your family is cute! Cant wait to read more and Im really enjoying the pics!

Oh by the way I love your name too!

Hi there and :welcome:!! Thank you, it took awhile to do my nails as I used a pencil to do the dots. lol I think I might invest in one of those nail polish pens to make it easier! You should definitely do your toes like that too. Glad you enjoy the pics, my family is a hoot huh? When I was little I actually hated my name because no one else had it. But now I love it because no one else has it, haha so thank you!:goodvibes

Hey DISers! Just interrupting this TR with a quick mini TR on my visit to the college I will be attending next fall, CNU!!

We left as soon as my mom got home from work last night. CNU is only about a 3 hour drive from where we live but since it's spring break starting, the traffic was HORRIBLE.

Oh but guess where our rental car was from...

jflkrajfoaj003.jpg

LOL!!! It's a sign. I'm destined to live there ;)

We stopped at Subway for dinner around 8:00.

Look who decided to join me on this short trip:cutie:
jflkrajfoaj004.jpg

After about 4 1/2 hours in the car, we finally arrived at our hotel around 10:30ish.

Now my dad has a tendency to choose the worst hotels on trips. He booked us at this place called Crestwood Suites in Newport News. It looked nice on the outside....but the inside was a whole other story. The uhm..clientel, was a little frightening, the elevator was broken, and our room, our room was the worst part.:sad2:

As soon as we opened the door, it smelled pretty funky. Now the room was quite big though, and had it's own little kitchenette as you can see. But that was about the only nice thing.

CNUvisit4-16022.jpg

The worst part was that the beds squeaked. There was some plastic covering over the boxspring, so every time you moved, the bed would squeak and crackle, loudly I might add. Plus as you can see the lighting in these pics stink. That's due to the fact that the lights above the bed did not work!

CNUvisit4-16021.jpg

Overall, the place was a dump, never stay there!!!! But it was only for one night, so after a few hours sleep (the beds kept us up all night), we got up and headed out the door, happy we'd never have to see this place again!

We got breakfast at McDonalds and then checked in at the Ferguson Center around 9:45ish.

^Don't know if you can see him, but that's Captain Chris our school mascot.

The President of CNU, Paul Trible, talked to us for awhile then the kids were then split up and we were sent to different activities. They basically just showed us what the campus activities they had to offer, what a class would be like, answered all our questions etc.

But the BEST part of it for me was finding out that there is a DISNEY CLUB!!!!!:woohoo: Truthfully I was a little sad actually, as I had wanted to start my own since I figured there would be no way they'd have one. I already had plans and everything!! Hopefully they'll be open to suggestions though as I have plenty (and plan to be president of said club someday!).

They had a nice lunch for the parents and the kids after and once we were done eating my parents and I went to the school store where I bought my very first CNU shirt!:goodvibes plus a few other things too...

CNUvisit4-16035.jpg

^Tried to get a better shot of the Ferguson center on the way out, but failed.

We left around 2:30 and passed Busch Gardens on the way out.

CNUvisit4-16039.jpg

It took less time to get home, as there wasn't any traffic, however it started to torrential downpour on the way home. We got home just in time too as our basement started to flood:scared1:

Overall it was a good trip and I'm pretty excited to go there in August! I'm even more excited though that the DCP comes to campus to recruit, I will definitely be first in line:thumbsup2

Tomorrow will be back to the regularly scheduled Disney updates!

Oh, how awesome your school is going to have a Disney Club!!! I'm a little jealous actually. haha

Oh, how awesome your school is going to have a Disney Club!!! I'm a little jealous actually. haha

haha yeah it is awesome!! I really hope it's a good club though. One girl I talked to was a member and she said that the club just started and was a little rocky right now...I can definitely fix that;)

CNU looks awesome. Pretty cool that they have a Disney club.

I would love to stay at ASMo one day. The theming is so cute. The last few trip I have booked it and then ended up changing. If they ever get the rooms refurbed maybe I'll actually keep it. Bummer on being in MD section. Although I don't think Herbie is much better.

Heylo!! subbing in:), the last few yrs me and my parents went to disney and stay on property and it was awesome!!:D and in the fall of 2012 me, my parents and my sisters and their families r gonna do one big trip:)

Can't wait to read/see more xD

CNU looks like a nice school. I can't believe they have a Disney Club! :mickeyjum I'm going there 4 years from now LOL Hope you have a great time there! :goodvibes

Update again soon!

Yes I'm super excited about CNU, especially the Disney club:goodvibes I really liked ASMo, and we saw the 101 Dalmations section being refurbed while we were there. And actually I'm glad now that we got the MD section, it was very quiet and away from all those annoying groups of teenagers!!

Hi there and :welcome: I absolutely love traveling with my parents, maybe that's because I'm an only child, but I guess I've always been more comfortable around adults. That 2012 trip sounds like a lot of fun!! I hope I can do something like that one day with my future family and my parents.

CNU is an amazing school, its the only one I applied to! haha You should definitely check it out!:thumbsup2 I only hope the Disney club will live up to my expectations.

March 27, 2011- An evening at DTD

So I last left off with us getting back to our room and finding that our luggage had magically appeared!

I was quite happy to be able to change out of my plane clothes as you can tell.

IMAG0027.jpg

^I'm such a nerd:laughing:
My dad had worried nonstop about our luggage getting there so I'm glad it all worked out.
After we changed we first headed to the ASMu food court to get our refillable mugs. I had told my parents about these before we left and they both thought that it would be a good idea to get them as they have to have their morning coffee in order to function!:rotfl:

On our way over there, I got my first Happy Birthday from a nice lifeguard. When he said Happy Birthday Clarice! it kind of took me a second to realize he was talking to me, so I quickly said thanks! haha that was definitely going to take some getting used to!

After we got our mugs we dropped them off at our room and went to the DTD bus stop at ASMu. The line was a little long but not too bad, and soon enough we were on the bus to DTD.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011030.jpg

^Pretty landscaping at DTD

I was super excited to show my parents DTD as they had never seen it before, my first time going to DTD was just last year! We arrived at the Marketplace, and we all decided we should eat first since it was close to our dinnertime and the lines were already starting to get pretty long. I had already decided months ago that we were going to eat at EOS, so I was pumped!

My parents got in the long line while I grabbed us a table outside. They were in there awhile so I just sat back and relaxed, took in the view, I finally felt like I was at Disney! I took a picture of my view from where I was sitting and sent it to my best friend Jamie, to let her know we had officially arrived.

My parents came out with the food and here's what we got:
I got the Full Montagu, which was pretty good, I think I'd skip the ham next time but it was still delicious.
DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011032.jpg

The parental units split a Chinese chicken salad wrap that they both loved.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011031.jpg

After dinner we went straight for WOD, I absolutely looove this store. It's pretty much a Disney shopaholic's heaven!! After exploring all the rooms, I'm pretty sure my parents were a little overwhelmed:laughing:

Before we left WOD I bought a few charms. I love making the charms from those little charm stations into charm necklaces. (I have a whole Disney jewelry box now dedicated to all my Disney necklaces, bracelets, etc.!) I bought a Mickey charm, an Aurora one, and the Mickey Fantasia hat one too.

My mom had been craving a big chocolatey dessert before we left so we headed to Ghiradelli. First we stopped in the gift shop part to get our free chocolate:goodvibes Or in my case, chocolates, as the nice man giving them out noticed my button and gave me 2!

For our dessert, we ended up just ordering a plain hot fudge sundae, which was good, but I wish we had gotten something bigger and more unusual you know? Something that we couldn't have gotten at home.
Here's a dark picture of it. It was still delicious though.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011034.jpg

After dessert we headed over to Tren-D
I love this store so much, I could literally buy everything in there if I had the money! My mom and I both found a pink paisely dress with hidden mickey's in it that we both liked so we bought that to share.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011033.jpg

After we bought the dress, we went back outside and it had started to get really crowded. We made one more stop though...

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011035.jpg

at Goofy's Candy Co.!! I had been dying to go here ever since we booked the trip. I really really wanted to make one of the Mickey Rice Krispie treats.

My Dad and I both made one. Here's mine, it was dipped in dark chocolate, covered in Mickey sprinkles, and drizzled with white chocolate. Yum.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011038.jpg

I don't have a pic of my Dad's but his was dipped in dark chocolate, covered in coconut, and drizzled with milk chocolate. They were both delicious and lasted us both about 3 nights lol.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011037.jpg

^Aren't these so cute?! I just wonder how people eat these, I mean they're so big, where and how exactly would you take the first bite??

After we made our delicious treats we decided to head back to our room to get some sleep for our first park day. Once we got back though I decorated our window first:goodvibes I love how it turned out.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011040.jpg

We went to bed then around 11ish, resting up for our first day at Magic Kingdom:yay:

Up Next: What was that sound early in the morning? It can't be...

Great update!

Looks like you had an awesome time in Dowtown Disney. Your references to Ghirardelli and World of Disney are making me want to jump onto a plane right now and go right back into my happy place :) LOL Those Mickey Rice Krispie Treats look really good. I must go make one of those when I go there, thinking about them is making my mouth water. And those sandwiches from Earl of Sandwich as well (heard it is really good there). I can't wait to hear about your adventures in the parks!

Update ASAP! :mickeyjum

Ooh, yummy DTD food! Earl of Sandwich is so good and that ice cream looks delicious. Free chocolate?! Nice!

I agree, WOD is overwhelming but it's awesome. You definitely have to have some self-control though when you go in there. haha

Haha I would love to jump on a plane right now too just to be there again! You definitely need to make one of the Mickey rice krispie treats, they are sooo delicious. EOS is so good too, everything is just amazing at Disney, but I guess we all know that already? I promise next update will be in the parks! lol It's taken me forever to finally get to the parks.

Yeah I love the food at DTD now! It was nice to be able to finally experience some of the places I had been reading about here on the DIS for 8 months!! Self-control is definitely necessary at WOD, I didn't really have any though this trip as I bought so much stuff. Wait till you see the shopping update I'll write about all of the stuff I spent my money on:rolleyes:

Happy Earth day everyone, and also Happy Birthday to Animal Kingdom!

March 28- 2011: Rain Rain Go Away

So we all fell asleep pretty quickly the night before, the excitement of our first park day awaited us! Well early in the morning, I’d say around 5ish, a loud boom awoke us.

I’m a pretty heavy sleeper, so for some reason I thought this sound was a part of my dream! Unfortunately though, when I woke up, and told my parents about this loud noise in my dream, they opened the door to show me that indeed it had been thunder and just our luck, it was pouring outside.:scared1::eek::scared1:

I could not believe it!!! The first day of vacation and we’d already have to deal with the dreaded plastic human coverings, also known as ponchos?!? UGH. So not how I wanted to start my first day of vacation but I decided to not let it get to me and make the best of it.

My DDad headed to the food court at ASMu to get me my very first Mickey waffle!! He was gone awhile (we didn’t realize the food court didn’t open till 7), so DMom and I got ready.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011042.jpg

Mickey and I were excited!

My DDad was taking forever so I got bored and took a pic of Mickey & Minnie together on my pillow underneath the cool star light.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011043.jpg

Once my DDad finally got back I was so so so excited to eat my very first Mickey waffle!!!
DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011041.jpg

Here it is in all its delicious glory

There was morning EMH at MK today so we left around 7:40ish I believe. We didn’t have to wait too long for a bus, and the rain had luckily slacked off a bit for now.

Soon enough, we were there!!!!!!!

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011045.jpg

I couldn’t believe I was actually here again for a second time in less than a year.
DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011046.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011047.jpg

We got through the bag check and the ticket machines pretty quickly. It wasn’t crowded at all. The rain had sort of stopped for the moment which was nice because I had to take pictures of this…..

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011048.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011049.jpg

^This part right here, seeing the castle for the first time, is probably one of my favorite parts of coming here. I could just stare at it all day, even if it was grey and yucky outside.

We stopped for our first family photo:goodvibes

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011053.jpg

We then made our way over to this place...

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011055.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011056.jpg

^I absolutely love walking around Tomorrowland, the theming and music and everything are just so awesome.

Well why were we over here? We were headed for Space Mountain of course!
This ride is my favorite in all of MK, and the line was like 10 minutes if that. SM was an intense ride to do first thing in the morning, it definitely woke me up:laughing:

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011060.jpg

Once in the gift shop, we saw space Chip and Dale! I immediately got in line, as there was only one other family there. I absolutely love Chip and Dale they are so adorable and huggable:lovestruc The CM that was handling them noticed my button and said Oooh it’s her birthday AND her name’s Clarice!!!! lol I had forgotten that Clarice is Chip and Dale’s girlfriends name. They both made a big fuss over me then. So cute :)

3.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011059.jpg

^Sorry the pic is so crappy, my DDad didn't turn the flash on. But I'm pretty sure Dale was kissing my hand here:goodvibes

After that we went outside to discover that Mickey was out!!!!! I was so excited, I never got to meet Mickey on my last trip, so one of my goals this trip was to meet him! I jumped in the short line, and met the head honcho himself:lovestruc

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011061.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011062.jpg

After meeting Mickey, we went back on Space again as there was no wait at all still. The rain started to pick up again so we left Tomorrowland to do something we all had never done before...

Up Next: Where we we headed? (I'll give you a hint, it involves lots of singing dolls!)

Great update!

Sorry to hear about you had a thunderstorm on your first day. I still am amazed I haven't been caught in a rainstorm when going to the parks. Only time I was close was my first night on my first trip when there was a really bad one that came through. Good thing it stopped for you guys so you could go to the parks. :) I noticed your Mickey waffle and I must recommend you get the waffle with the strawberries it is SOOO GOOOD! I will never have that waffle without strawberries. You must try it! Cinderella Castle is basically one of the best sites at Disney you can't get better than that. Space Mountain sounded like a ton of fun, I love that ride. Chip 'n' Dale sounded very cute! I love when characters really interact it is so much fun.

Can't wait to hear about your adventures on the voyage of singing dolls! ;)

Update as soon as you can! :mickeyjum

rain sux>( lol, but as long im at disney it wont bother me too much, tomorrland is one of my fav lands too:) i love most of the rides in there:D and aww mickey picture is awesome!!

I was a couple of updates behind:confused3 Isn't DTD the best on arrival day....and EOS....yum...I can just taste it now!

Too bad for the rain on your first park day...but it looks like you didn't let it "dampen" your spirits:lmao:

MK does not look right with that big raincloud hanging over the castle. Sorry you had crummy, rainy weather on your first day.

I love Chip and Dale. They must have been so excited to see another Clarice.

Wow you are lucky to have dodged the rain for so long! You'll see in the next updates that the rain did not stop, it actually got worse! Wait till you see my AK update, and what I had for breakfast, you will be pleasantly surprised;) And Chip and Dale were awesome, they are definitely some of the best characters to interact with!

Rain does suck lol, but yeah it does seem to be a bit better when at Disney (as long as its over quickly). Tomorrowland is amazing, I could probably spend a whole day there!

I was a couple of updates behind:confused3 Isn't DTD the best on arrival day....and EOS....yum...I can just taste it now!

Too bad for the rain on your first park day...but it looks like you didn't let it "dampen" your spirits:lmao:

Yes DTD is perfect for arrival day, and EOS was soo good, I can't wait to try something different next time!
Hahaha good one, it didn't "dampen" our spirits too much, but by the end of the day it was dampening our shoes too much and that outweighed our spirits eventually:rotfl:

MK does not look right with that big raincloud hanging over the castle. Sorry you had crummy, rainy weather on your first day.

I love Chip and Dale. They must have been so excited to see another Clarice.

I agree, it really doesn't look good with the rain clouds behind it. I'm glad though that I got much better pics of it on our 2nd MK day!
It was so fun meeting Chip and Dale, I've met them numerous times before but having them know my name this time made it extra special:goodvibes
