Let's replace the Stitch wakeup call with . . .

How about having resort specific wake up calls? For instance, the Poly could have Lilo and Stitch; AKL could have Timone and Pumba; Contemporary would probably have to have the classic characters since there is no "theme" to the Contemporary.

I love this idea. Of course the Captain Jack Sparrow would be nice too.;)

This is exactly what I was going to say!!!:rotfl:

Since so many of us are thinking the same thing, it seems Disney's got a proven winner here. All they have to do is implement it; we did all the hard work of sittin' 'round and thinkin'. :lmao:

I was going to say Chip and Dale, but they would be hard to understand.

Donald Duck could be really funny, in his angry mood.

I LOVE the stitch wake up call keep it forever.

My girls have one of the old Cinderella VHS movies that they watch all of the time. The commercial at the beginning is for WDW and the little girl gets a phone call from Mickey. They just knew he would call when we went, and what a let down to get Stitch screaming in the phone! We want Mickey back!

ohhh this would be great!!:cheer2: :cheer2:

I can just hear Donald now in his pissy voice..."wake up already..would you!

My personal wish would definitely be Jack Sparrow--I'd wake up quick with that wake up call!;)

However, I think it would be great to have a choice of the classic Mickey Mouse or a character designated just for that particular resort (i.e. Mary Poppins for the Grand Floridian, etc.)

What about a "yoo hoo!" from Minnie?

I also like "spit spot," an Alice one, the ghost host, and I agree that Stitch should take a hike.

I like the press 1 for Mickey...2 for Minnie.....

Didn't they use to have the random ones? It seems like several years back I remember answering the phone in the morning (at 4:15 AM :scared1: ) and saying - it was Mickey or it was Donald......am I dreaming?

Give me Mickey or Crush and I will be happy,

 I can't believe they are still using Stich! We went two years ago and thats what it was then. Disney - Let's do an update!! I like all the ideas. I don't know if my kids would enjoy Jack! But Hey! :rotfl2:I' m the one who answers the phone on vacation.

I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED with the wake-up call from Stitch :sad1: and that was TWO YEARS AGO! Get rid of him. My kids did not even know who he was. It was their first time there and I thought they would love to get a personal call from Mickey -- So sad when it turned out to be Stitch. ENOUGH of STITCH ALREADY! (Hopefully the Disney spies with get my not so subtle hint!!)

I agree with Ransom's idea in the quote below!!!! :thumbsup2

I'd like there to be a lot of potential wake-up call voices (Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Jack Sparrow, the Ghost Host, etc.).

Then it could either be random or - preferably - the guest's choice. "Press 1 for a Mickey wake-up, 2 for a Donald Wake-up, 3 for a ...."

We loved the Stitch wake-up call and don't mind a bit if they keep it around. :stitch2:

That being said, I also think that giving guests a choice on character wake-up voices is an excellent idea ~ Disney does try to gear itself toward all ages of guests and I'd bet that there are plenty of empty nesters who go to WDW for vacation and are just shaking their heads in confusion when they get the Stitch wake-up call, LOL! :rotfl:

Okay if Capt. Jack were the one making the phone calls I would never get any sleep. Furthermore they would put a limit on the wake up calls I recieved in a day (dh wouldn't be happy either).

I would love for them to have different options or at least different ones the only different one I got was the last day of our trip. It was the guy from sportscenter telling about ESPN the weekend (that really made me want to get up). I would love to have some themed around holidays since we are going in Halloween it would be neat to have some villians to the calls!

Okay and this is totally a side note. I like stich and he is very cute, but does anyone feel like this character is kind of being beaten over your head? That and pixar characters (which I do like too) seem to be having a slow take over! Oh well off my soap box if anyone else wants to use it.

M*I*C*K*E*Y M*O*U*S*E!!!!!:mickeyjum

I like the choices idea too. And with all the voice mail options out there, I wouldn't see how hard that would be to put into place.

Maybe Disney should let us Dis-ners choose which 10 it would be!

Here's mine...

1. Mickey
2. Minnie
3. Goofy
4. Donald
5. Pooh
6. Eyeore ("Oh...I guessss it's tiiime to get uuupppp noooowwww.")
7. Cinderella
8. Snow White
9. Prince Charming
10. A Villian (chosen at random by the computer.)

I agree - but I think it's because the young kids of today are into them. When my 14YO and 12YO were little, it was all about Simba. When I was younger, it was Jungle Book. So for this round of young'uns it's Stitch and Nemo.

And can we complain? It could be all about Brittany Spears!
