Let's play.... "Name That Tune"! 1960's - 1990's

Can your friends do this?
Do your friends do that?
Do your friends pull this out their little hat?
Can your friends go, poof?
Well, looky here
Can your friends go, Abracadabra, let 'er rip
And then make the sucker disappear?

:earboy2:

Well Ms Tracy 74, I suppose one ain't "Never had a Friend like You"or (me).

Put your trivia Caps on for this one

"Who's that comin down the street
are they shovels or are they feet?
Lean and Lanky, skin and bones
with clothes a scarecrow would hate to own

Yet he has that certain air.
Devil Nair and Devil may care,
its the new school master what's his name?"

No idea....

Next:

It's much too late to save myself from falling
I took a chance and changed your way of life
But you misread my meaning when I met you
Closed the door and left me blinded by the light

Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me

George Michael

ok next

'Cause the truth you might be runnin' from
Is so small.
But it's as big as the promise
The promise of a comin' day.
So I'm sailing for tomorrow
My dreams are a dyin'.
And my love is an anchor tied to you
Tied with a silver chain.
I have my ship
And all her flags are a flyin'
She is all that I have left
And music is her name.

I LOVE this song! Kind of hypnotizes me into such a smooth feeling every time I hear it. Oh...I guess I need to name it, don't I?

The Southern Cross...by Crosby, Stills & Nash

Okay, here's mine:

Out on the road today
I saw a deadhead sticker on a Cadillac
Little voice inside my head said don't look back, you can never look back
Thought I knew what love was
What did I know?

(I'm afraid this one's much too easy...but I'm afraid to try something more obscure)

That would be Ichabod Crane from Legend of Sleepy Hollow.

And the Don Henley song is "Boys of Summer."

'Cause baby we'll be
at the drive-in, in the old man's Ford
behind the bushes, until I'm screamin' for more
down in the basement, lock the cellar door . . .

Good catch on the Don Henley song, Papa D. and MrsJack.

I'm trying to play fair and not google lyrics, so I'm afraid I don't know your song (above). I suspect it's a country song, since I don't do country (except for The HAGG...Merle Haggard!)

Here's one from my all time favorite artist:

Screen door slams
Mary's dress waves
Like a vision she dances across the porch as the radio plays
Roy Orbison singin' for the lonely
Hey that's me and I want you only
Don't turn me home again, I just can't face myself alone again

Talk Dirty to Me by Poison. (Mrs. Jack Sparrow, I'm loving your music choices so far!!)

I am the son
And the heir
Of a shyness that is criminally vulgar
I am the son and heir
Of nothing in particular

:headache: Doh!! I feel like such a dork for mistaking a Poison song for a country one. I guess my big hair band knowledge isn't up to par, either.

Desiree, I'm coming up blank on the lyrics you posted.

ETA!! ETA!! Just as I posted this, I re-read your lyrics and the song popped into my head! HOW SOON IS NOW? by the Smiths!!! I can't believe I missed that at first!! One of my favorite 80's songs! Geesh, I suck.

Forgot to add some lyrics for the next playa:

I can’t stand it I know you planned it
I’m gonna set it straight, this watergate
I can’t stand rocking when I’m in here
Because your crystal ball ain’t so crystal clear
So while you sit back and wonder why
I got this (bleepin') thorn in my side

Yes! How Soon is Now by The Smiths!

I know your song is Beastie Boys but I can't remember the title!!

I have a confession to make. For all the 1000's of times I've heard the song "How Soon is Now", in my head, I was hearing "I am the sun and the air". Hahaha! That's what threw me off when I read your lyrics. Man! What the heck was I thinking....sun and air?? Some type of New Age-y song before it's time?

And yes, my song is Beastie Boys.......listen all a ya'll it's a....

SABOTAGE

Yo, yo, yo, yo, baby-pop
Yeah, you come here, gimme a kiss
Better make it fast or else I'm gonna get p*ssed
Can't you hear the music's pumpin' hard like I wish you would? :smooth:

Now Push it.....duhn.....duh duh duh duhn.....Push it real good! Salt-n-pepa

Next:

An angel's smile is what you sell,
You promised me heaven and put me through hell,
Chains of love, got a hold on me,
Passions a prison, you can't break free....

Rise up, gather 'round
Gonna rock this place to the ground
Burn it up, let's go for broke
Watch the night go up in smoke

But Make No Mistakes And Switch Up My Channel
I'm Buddy Rich When I Fly Off The Handle

You're Scheming On A Thing; That's Sabotage
