Ok the idea is that you post a line or two from a song, and the person below names the song, and then adds a new one. Just try not to make the songs so that nobody will have a chance to figure it out.

Here is the first one:

You get the gray skies outta my way,
You make the sun shine brighter than Doris Day.
Turned a bright spark into a flame,
My beats-per-minute never been the same.

Wake Me up Before You Go-go WHAM

"I'll be over at ten", you told me time and again
But you're late, I wait around and then (bah dah dah)
I run to the door, I can't take any more
It's not you, you let me down again

(Hey, hey, hey!) Baby, baby, try to find
(Hey, hey, hey!) A little time, and I'll make you happy
(Hey, hey, hey!) I'll be home
I'll be beside the phone waiting for you
Ooo-oo-ooo, ooo-oo-ooo

That's Wham's "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go!"

Here's one:

Baby pick your head up
C'mon and look me in the face
Cause I can tell that something is bringing you down (why are you down?)
Is it the rumor that another boy wants to take your place
(I hear he's after your heart.)
Have you been hearing the stories; they're going around
(All of my friends are talking.)

Reposting Doesney's.....

I know.... but since I don't have another line ready, I'll just not name it.

And the other is the Foundations' "Build Me Up, Buttercup"

I'm too slow for this board!

Ok, here is a "softball".... totally easy.

Well, the night was falling as the desert world began to settle down.
In the town they're searching for us every where, but we never will be found.

You got me with that one...and I thought I knew a lot about songs!

Band On the Run - Wings

Here's an easy one:

I've been stranded in the combat zone
I walked through Bedford Stuy alone
Even rode my motorcycle in the rain

You May Be Right - Billy Joel

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
take a bow for the new revolution
smile and grin at the change all around
pick up my guitar and play......

The Who - Won't Get Fooled Again

Everbody gather 'round now
Let your body feel the heat
Don't you worry if you can't dance;
Let the music move your feet

Come on baby now do the Conga, I know you can't controll yourself any longer..... ;)

O.K., let's make this more challenging and Disney related.

Here's some lyrics from (hint) an artist who was very important to the early days of Disney's recording business. Kudos to anyone who can name not just the artist, but also the song. And serious extra credit if they can state where the song was first performed.

"We walk the dog/we do the twist/we do the swim/and it goes like this!" That's the way it's done among the young.....

Way too easy!

That's part of the first verse of Conga by Gloria Estefan (during her early 80s Miami Sound Machine era).

Come on, shake your body baby,
do the conga
I know you can't control yourself any longer
Come on, shake your body baby,
do the conga
I know you can't control yourself any longer.

Show me, show me, show me
how you do that trick
the one that makes me scream, she said
the one that makes me laugh, she said
and threw her arms around my neck

This is driving me

It's from The Cure and I just can't remember the name! Ugh! :furious:
