Let's plan Together! Jan 2009

Girls Only Trip with my sisters! Don't have any ressies - waiting for a deal somwhere . . . please someone, throw us a code! :):woohoo:

A small town right in the middle of Syracuse, Utica, and Binghamton called Norwich (we're about 50 mins from each of the cities).

And about January, we go every year and compared to other times of the year, even a busy January isn't so bad.:)

Hi "neighbor",

We are about 20 miles from Watertown, about 86 miles NW of Syracuse. When in Jan are you going?
We are going Jan. 2-9. It will be so nice to get away from the cold! DS and I were there for a week last Dec., what a nice break from the cold. Can't wait to go again!

Howdy! We'll be there Jan. 21-28. This will be our third Jan. in a row. We love WDW this time of year! Not too crowded, and certainly warmer;).

Can someone explain the advantages of the AP discount? We'll be there in January and I am considering going again in 2009...how would that work?

Also can you use DDE with the Dining Plan? For example on appetizers and drinks apart from the Plan?

Subscribing :surfweb:

We will see you all in WDW Jan 19-25!! Glad to hear we'll just miss the soccer tournament/cheerleading "crowds". We went last Jan over MLK weekend, and I do remember seeing cheerleaders as well as lots of international student groups (winter is their summer break). So we'll just have to see how many of them remain after MLK weekend.

We'll be at POR...hoping some discount codes come out. Fingers crossed!

All dinner ressies made, might add a lunch ressie here or there but am mainly planning on quick b'fast/lunches. That seems to work best for us, timewise and $$$-wise. Our "parents' nite out" will be dinner at Jiko.

Oh, I'm also considering dragging my "boys" (DH & 2 DS's) to Askerhaus so I can dine with the princesses!!

The biggest advantage of AP is the 365 days of admission.

There is a possibility of room discounts but they generally aren't high enough over general public or AAA to justify the additional cost of an AP. If you already have an AP they are great.

The DDE costs $65/yr so you need to spend $325 to get your $65 back. You can use it with the DDP for appetizers and drinks.

Be careful! Those AP's are always calling your name for another trip.:rotfl:

!

Total hijack, but I went to college about 20 miles from Watertown - in Canton. :)

And I guess it's nto a total hijack because I may also be going to WDW for a weekend at the end of January - if I can get a good discount!

Still hoping for some type of code. We will be @ CSR 1/26-1/30 Club Level.
Just me, Mom and best friend. A code would be icing on the cake to this trip :)

We're arriving Friday, 16 January and staying for two nights at POFQ, leaving Sunday morning for a DCL cruise on the Wonder.

That leaves us one day for the parks, on a busy 3 day weekend. My original plan was to start at DHS (EMH, opening at 8 AM) and head back to the hotel early afternoon for a pool/rest break, and then head to the MK for the afternoon/evening/night (open to 11 PM!).

DS11 objected to my plan and is insisting that we also visit DAK. Sooo, I'm now thinking of DHS, then straight to DAK, then to the hotel for a shorter break and then to MK.

The Desperate Mousewife is a great trooper at the parks, but she'll probably only want to do two parks in one day; DS7 may or may not be in the same boat. If so, we can all split up accordingly.

So, how realistic / crazy is it to attempt three parks in a day over a busy weekend? Granted, we have a maximum of 15 hours of parktime at our disposal!

:rotfl: I'm taking DS4 with my mom in Jan, and we're doing CRT..and believe me, it's NOT for DS..:rotfl: This one's ALL for Mommy! ;)

We booked the Royal Princess Breakfast at Epcot and no kids in our crew - just me, DH, and our own 19 y/o Princess! She and I are huge Belle fans! princess:

We are going Jan 3 to Jan 10th. I cant believe how much airfare is from Las Vegas!

College basketball schedules just came out and suddenly I have a trip Jan 4-10 planned. We will book a package unless something better comes along. Any codes or discounts would be greatly appreciated.

Great news on the new theme for 2009!! We were already planning to go during my boyfriend's b-day, so now he will get a complimentary "Birthday Fun Card"!! :cool1:

We are celebrating DH's 40th b-day but we will be leaving 2 days before his actual b-day. Oh well, maybe we will get some other extra goodies.

Just when I thought I had all my ADRs done..I'm calling tonight to try to snap up Ohana for anytime on January 4th! Now every day will have an ADR whereas before we had a few empty days..oh the influence of the DIS!! :lmao:

It's doable, if you just plan on doing a few favorites in each park. I wouldn't plan to take a midday break at your hotel, though- you will have plenty of "off your feet" resting time on the buses. Hopping to 3 different parks in one day will have you on Disney transport for decent stretches during the day- you can rest then.

My sons birthday is the 19th and we're there 16-25 - what is a "Birthday Fun Card"?

The big announcement yesterday was that in 2009, Disney is giving away free admission to anyone who enters a park on their birthday!! I assume you would need to show a Driver's License or birth certificate. For those that have AP's, there are alternate gifts available, including a $75 Disney Birthday Fun Card, or a Unlimited Fast Pass (I think). The announcement can be read here:http://www.wdwinfo.com/Disney2009Celebration.htm
