Let's plan Together! Jan 2009

Peach, we have room only reservations. You can make them into a package when the rates some out. They charge you the maximum rate for one night to hold the reservation.

Will that rate get prorated? Or are we out the amount of the maximum rate?

You are charged the peak rate, but it will be adjusted when the rates are adjusted. I don't know if they refund the difference or just attribute it to the rest of your reservations.

I have a Pool View room at AKL booked at my deposit was $393.75. (a pool view room for the same time this year is only $235) The extra money will remain towards my future payments. I don't see the point of trying to get the money credited back to my account, because I'll have to pay for it eventually anyways.

Either way... you don't lose the money.

I have all 10 of my ADRs made. I wanted to wait for the January hours to be released.

Hello January Disers! :woohoo:

DH and I are heading to Orlando on Jan 25th, and spending 2 nights at HRH at US/IOA (GASP!, I know!) then will be in the world Jan 27th - Feb 3rd!

Right now we are booked at POP, but if a great deal comes out we may switch to CS or AKL. I want the deluxe dining plan, but am curious to see what changes (if any) will be made to the plans next year. We wont be getting the water parks and more option, since it will be a little too cold for BB or TL, and Pleasure Island won't be open.

Also anxiously awaiting park hours! :confused3

When DH called aout 2 weeks ago to add a night to our room only ressie he asked the CM about the dining plan ( again;) ) to see when rates came out. THe CM informed him the the Deluxe "will" be offered again and " we have had alot of success with it so we do not see it changing".
Now this is one CM and not necessarily fact, but I thought I would mention it!

:cool1:
Yeah Jan 09 Disers!!!

I don't think we could eat all the food on the Deluxe Dining Plan! Its a lot of food! Think about it and weigh the cost - unless you plan on doing a lot of 2 credit meals and full service, you might be better off with the regular.

Has anyone heard when they will release the January hours? :confused3 I am impatiently waiting!!!

It will be a ton of food, but DH and I love to eat out and are looking forward to the breaks. Plus we plan on only doing a sit down lunch and a signature dinner, so we won't be eating 3 meals a day...I would have to be rolled back on the plane! Plus, I tend to be a picky eater (won't eat salads etc.) and I think food wise i will have healthier options at a sit down meal than CS (I can picture myself eating nothing but chicken fingers and fries for a week :scared: ). And this may be our last vacation without kids, so I plan on eating while I can!

Good to hear that the plan may not change next year!

As for the posting of the hours, my guess is they will post the park hours when the release the prices for 2009. I too am wanting the 2009 hours and prices. We are heading over MLK. Not my first choice but dh has a conference. I have my 180 counted for the ressies.

Are the AP room rates out for 2009? In the past I've bought an AP to get the room discount. 2 visits plus the dining discount paid for the AP.

My travel agent from the mouse for less just told me that the rates may not be published until the end of September! I am chomping at the bit to get everything taken care of!:cool1: He also mentioned that after July 15 you will no longer be able to make 180 day out reservations. Just thought I'd mention that in case you hadn't heard.

Frustrated! okay so we are planning our trip in January and I want to plan some character dining meals 180 days in advance. I don';t know which parks are going to have the extended hours- that might determine what day to pick a character meal at a certain park. you know what I mean? I don't get it. They know people plan Disney trips well in advance- they could do their part and provide the info needed.
When will the calander come out with the hours of each park?

He said they will not be taking 180 days out. I'm guessing it will be a shorter time period, like 90 days out or something like that. He mentioned that the 180 days out might come back in October. Sorry! I don't know any more than that. I'm sure someone else here knows more...

I'm glad to hear that! I'm not sure why my travel agent said what he said...it didn't affect me, but I knew it could affect many.

Several other websites are also reporting the change for ADRs.

From touringplans:

Advance Dining Reservation Window Changing to 90 Days Soon
Details have not yet been finalized, but Disney will begin transitioning to a new reservation system sometime in the late summer or early fall. As a result, Disney will only be accepting Advance Dining Reservations up to 90 days in advance starting around August 1.

The reservation window starts growing again once the move to the new reservation system is underway, and Disney expects to be back to the full 180-day window sometime in the fall of 2009.

Call and see what they tell you. When I called they said it was not true. My 180 days will be July 30th so I can call then and make my reservations. I guess if anything I will find out for sure then.

In reference to Super Bowl week we were there in January 2001 durring Super Bowl and there were not larger crowds. I think like someone else mentioned the prices for SB tix are soo high people can not afford both.

Also add me to the list for the 2009 codes please.

No rooms booked yet, but we go on the Disney Wonder, Feb. 1 -5. The 5th we hope to go to Kennedy Space Center. I want to stay at Disney the 5th & 6th, we will probably fly home on the 7th. Just to convince dh we need a couple more "Disney" days.
