So, my goal for today was to clean out the fridge.
My husband and MIL both want to lose that holiday weight, I could stand to drop 5 lbs myself, and my son's blood sugar hasn't been great, so everyone needs to go on a diet. I figure a clean fridge is a good first step!
I intended to take a picture of my dirty fridge and then clean it and take a picture of it looking all pristine, to post here. But I've lost my camera. (Disorganized? Me? No!)
I
almost took that as an excuse to put off cleaning my fridge until my camera turns up, but then I thought that this sort of procrastination wasn't really in the spirit of things. So I gave up on taking pictures and just cleaned my fridge.
Here's what I tossed/recycled/composted:
* 3 "freebie" magnets, from local companies
* A page ripped out of Womens World for a recipe that's not compatible with the new diet and didn't taste that great anyway
* An empty Dijon mustard container.
* An empty bottle of Aunt Jemima pancake syrup.
* The cardboard box our yogurt cups came in.
* 1/2 a can of very flat ginger ale, don't know whose it is.
* A container of mystery gravy... or possibly chicken soup. It appears to have been in the fridge for awhile.
* An expired bottle of V8.
* Some dodgy chicken broth.
* Suspicious cottage cheese (not expired, but it smelled funny).
* 2 plastic bread bag ties
* A plastic net bag full of onion skins, but no actual onions.
* More onion skins, not in a bag.
* An empty plastic bag with a hole in it. I hope it's not related to the brown mystery liquid at the bottom of the vegetable crisper.
And that's it! 14 items tossed. Fewer than I'd expected, though I do seem to have an awful lot of mostly empty jars of things.
Next, the dining room table! (I'm sure it's under there somewhere...)
