Let's do the "What book are you reading?" thread again!

Just finished "Walt Disney: The Triumph Of The American Imagination." and have now started on "Flags of Our Fathers" by James Bradley. After that, I'll probably re-read "Wicked" again just because I love it so much :thumbsup2

Are the other books told from several differing viewpoints simultaneously as well?

It's been awhile since I've read The Other Boleyn Girl (which I really enjoyed) but it seems like it's all from Mary Boleyn's point of view. Other readers, just correct me if I'm wrong here. ;)

The Constant Princess is from Katherine of Aragon's point of view only. I can say that with confidence since I just read it a month ago. :rotfl:

I did like the different views of Jane Boleyn, Anne of Cleves and Katherine Howard in The Boleyn Inheritance. Although, didn't you just want to ground Katherine? I did crack up at one line, though, when she was annoyed that she couldn't find any other maids of honor at one point and she thought something along the lines of, "Those stupid girls are never around when you need them. No wonder everyone finds me so annoying." :rotfl:

I'm still in the Historical Novel genre and reading Bernard Cornwell's "Lords of the North.

Fragile Things: Short Fictions and Wonders by Neil Gaiman.

DH and I are on a Neil Gaiman kick right now. We both read American Gods. I just finished Anansi Boys and I am starting book four of the Sandman series today. Good Omens is one of my favorite books of all time so I am enjoying reading other things he has written.

I'm reading "The Sight" by David Clement-Davies. It's really good. Here's the summary from Amazon:

In an epic tale of good and evil, legend and history, and the blessing and curse of an extraordinary gift of the Sight (an ability to see through others' minds and into the future), David Clement-Davies obliges the many fans of Fire Bringer with a new fantasy novel. The Sight features a Transylvanian wolf clan faced with the terrifying changes brought about by Morgra, a bitter she-wolf determined to fulfill an ancient legend in order to have supreme power over all Vargs (wolves). Young Larka, a white wolf pup born with the Sight, embarks with her brother Fell and the rest of her family on an extraordinary quest for truth and salvation, with shocking consequences that even the most astute reader may not foresee. Clement-Davies's multilayered and elaborate plot will keep young readers riveted for hours on end, drawing on Christianity, fairy tales, and mythology in a colossal allegory and cautionary tale for its human audience.

I am reading Robert Ludlum's 'The Paris Option" I am having trouble getting into the book, but I think it's because the only time I have to read it quietly, by myself, is when I am in the bathroom!

I'm reading "Freakonomics"...it's pretty fascinating.

I just finished "All Souls" about life growing up in the projects in South Boston during the busing crisis and after. Very interesting, quick read, and sad true story.

I just finished a good one-it was a memoir entitled "Expecting Adam". It was about a Harvard educated couple that finds out they are expecting a baby w/ Down Syndrome. It was very sprititual, heart-warming, thought provoking and well written!

This thread is inspiring me to read The Other Bolyn (sp?) Sister next!

Tell us if you like it!!!!! I am a huge fan of all Phillipa Gregory books, enjoy!

"Now, let's see. What do I have?" ;)

Kitty Howard was just so immature. Just wanted to tell her to RUN AWAY!!!

I do have to admit that I rather enjoyed the Duke telling Jane that no one wanted her, and that she was an awful person who deserved the fate that was to come!!

Can't you just see Jeremy Irons as perfect in that role, if they ever made a movie out of this book?

Jeremy Irons would be PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just read Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, which I enjoyed a lot, and am now reading Tales of a Female Nomad which is a true story of a woman who goes around living in places I only dream of seeing. I hope some day to make these dreams a reality.

I am reading On the Run by Iris Johansen. A fellow reader my mother works with and I share books and she loved this one and lent it to me. I am so bored with it and am looking forward to starting something else. I am just fininshing it because she liked it so much.

Anyone else read it? Should I give up or is it worth finishing. I'm on page 100 or so.

I'm reading Angela's Ashes now.

I just love Frank McCourt's writing! I read Teacher Man first, and it's kind of neat reading them out of order. It's like, you get to know the adult, successful him, and then you go back and see how messed up his childhood was. But his writing is just too good. I can hear that Irish brogue in every word.

I'm reading Angela's Ashes now.
Hey, send me a PM if this any good. To be honest, I hated the movie. It took me all day to watch. I was so bored with it and had to keep taking breaks.

Maybe I should try the book.

I just started A Tale of Two Cities by Dickens. I just finished Jane Eyre......WOW!

For alll those starting The Glass Castle it was really good. I read it not that long ago. Also recently I've read The Time Travlers Wife, Running With Scissors, Good Grief, Knitting Under the Influence and Lost in the Woods. I know that I've read more then that, but those are the ones that I can think of off the top of my head. They were all pretty good and very different from each other. For those that have seen the movie Running With Scissors (which I have heard was terrible and have not seen) the book was really good, but be warned there are some major ick factors in it. I am now re-reading the Harry Potter series-AGAIN. I just love those books and want to finish re-reading them before the new book comes out in July.

He WOULD be perfect! I hadn't thought of that but you're absolutely right.

About Angela's Ashes--I read it and loved it and passed it on to DH. He got about a quarter the way through and had to quit. He lived in Northern Ireland for awhile as a child and they were also fairly poor at the time. He said it brought back too many bad memories because it is written so vividly.

Right now I'm re-reading The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde. I want to re-read the whole series before the new book comes out this summer. Just a PSA: Thursday Next, First Among Sequels is due out July 19 for anyone else who loves his books!
