Maybe this is to kill time before our August 10th sail date---I love visiting these boards but I don't have any more questions to ask ;)

So I have been sitting around thinking about my career. I have worked at a group home for at risk youth (boys) for the past 12 years. Generally we take boys between the ages of 13-18 and our contract is up to 28 residents, however these days we hold about 20 on average due to the 'judicial system'. Our numbers have dropped over the years, 'good' referrals are much harder to come by. My family moved to western Nebraska and this job just kind of happened to fall into our laps--we live on site in our own home (17 miles from town  ) and have raised our DD13 and DDS9 here. My current job position is a school liaison between our residents and the public school system. My DH has not worked here for about 6 years and is currenlty working at our county sherriffs dept. as a jailer. To make a long story short this job has a burn out stage of approximately 6 month to 1 year---as you can see we have gone WAY past that stage. There are days that I love my job and find it very rewarding, but other days there can be very trying times that test your patience and sanity. Maybe its frustration or I'm just at a point in my life where I am considering that another career or possibly returning to college is something to think about. So my question to you is "what do you do for a living, do you love your job?" convince me that what you do for a living is good or bad. I would love to consider new careers and relocation. :wave2: Tell me about where you live and why relocating to your city would be good.

Im in the Air Force. I love serving my country, but I really hate my job. I inspect munitions.I do have a fun carrer field, but the political crap that we deal with on a daily basis kills the morale. Besides the politics and not having any good experence for the outside, I guess I kinda like it. Gets food on the plate.

I am an ordained minister in The Salvation Army and my current appointment is an administrative one. I am basically the Chief Financial Officer) CFO for the units in Maryland and West Virginia. I oversee the finances of these units and audit them for accuracy; among other things.

I love what I do because I can enjoy the business side and still have the opportunity for ministry.

Financial Services Technology. I manage teams in both the US and India. We build and test trading systems for the NYSE, NASDAQ, and other exchanges.

Work for a company that has a contract with the department of defense. I am the company secretary. I support the Captain and the First Sergeant. The pay and benefits stink. But I love my job. Though sometimes I feel like I have three husbands instead of one. My bosses listen to me about as well as my husband does.

I'm a student, but I am planning on being a teacher at a university (not sure which one) and I want to teach art.

I'm a 34 year old mother of three, full time student, and part time employee of Hallmark. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up, so don't ask me! :confused3 I will, however, say that I love the area I live in. It's clean, safe, and growing at a nice, slow rate. I live just outside of Grand Rapids, Michigan. :thumbsup2

I'm a Realtor® in Central Florida. I love this job and it's quite a nice change from my "past life" in Human Resources.

Tracy

Edited to add: I forgot to say why living here is great...

Welllll, living in Central Florida does have it's mouse-related advantages!
