Good morning Pirates!pirate:

Today is that special day TGIF, or the day you can mentally slap the person of your choice. So when someone is on your last nerve you can think, "Yep, your the one", then WHACK! You have to do it mentally though, we don't want the non-pirates to catch on, or they might think "you ain't right".

Mad Bess Kidd reporting for duty. Aaaaarrrrrrgggggghhhhhhh!

I'd like to slap some folks for making promises on some new software that is supposed to make my life easier as a teacher. It's just the opposite. The software is full of errors (after extensive beta testing, supposedly) and our school is commited to using it for the next year. It's going to be a long semester and it may interefere with my marathon training. ;) Aaaaaarrrrgggggghhhhhhh!

Susie, close your eyes and imagine. The little ugly troll is sitting at his big computer, banging away on his keyboard, a sadistic laugh coming from his mouth. You come in dressed in full pirate garb, three corner hat with fox tail and all. You slap that troll right across his jagged tooth grin, knocking him of his stool. You let out a hardy "YARC" and strut out. The ugly troll is on his knees begging for forgiveness.

Now wasn't that refreshing.

I want to share one of my favorite pictures with you guys. This was taken in September of 2004. We were at WDW between hurricanes and practically had the parks to ourselves. Although this is not the "prettiest" picture of me, I really love it. Malificent had just said in a low, serious voice..."Don't you dare smile" which of course made me laugh.

Judy, I love it!

I saw this character in Disneyland a few years ago and she had me in stitches. The more I laughed the meaner the look on her face got. Too funny!

Uh, Dave, I wasn't going to say anything. Not a word. :rolleyes1 :teeth:

OK, Leana, I bit!! Mad Anne Rackham pirate: here!! :lmao: Dave, this is for you...

Every pirate is a little bit crazy. You, though, are more than just a little bit. You have the good fortune of having a good name, since Rackham (pronounced RACKem, not rack-ham) is one of the coolest sounding surnames for a pirate. Arr!

I must be the red-headed stepchild of the family because I be Red Anne Rackham! Arr!

Judy, black and purple look good on you girl. who's the little hottie there with you?:flower3:

Today is the day for all to be kinder and gentler pirates. Imagine for a moment the person you would most like to kick in the butt. Now imagine treating that person to a "Kitchen Sink" and then giving them a fastpass to the intense version on Mission Space.

Have a rowdy time today mates.pirate:

Sorry I just had to join in!!

Your pirate name is:
Iron Anne Roberts

A pirate's life isn't easy; it takes a tough person. That's okay with you, though, since you a tough person. Two things complete your pirate persona: style and swagger. Maybe a little too much swagger sometimes -- but who really cares? Arr!

I almost forgot!; I had a total YARC moment today during and after my 10K race (see race report thread).

Of course I had everything prepped the night before. Today (race day) I arrived early, found great parking, and had a great race.

I return home, take off my running shoes, remove the insoles, and place everything on the back deck to dry. After showering, I notice that one of my race shoes is in the corner of the bathroom floor; didn't I just put them outside to dry? :confused3

I look at the pair of shoes in the corner of the bathroom and realize they are mismatched! Oh no, does that mean... Yep! I run out to the deck and realize that I had run a 10K in mismatched running shoes!:upsidedow

I managed to pair Saucony Grid Hurricane 9's with Grid 8's. Both are white with blue trim; I never noticed, nor did any of my friends.

Now I'm faced with a dilemma: my left and right shoes have differing mileage on them; although... I'm happy with my race-maybe I should mismatch more often! :rotfl:

The Prince of Unusual Pleasures (don't ask) salutes you all!

Steve that was an awesome "YARC" story, thanks for sharing. That was a darn good time for the race to. I hear that it's a beautiful race.

Sunday is a traditional day of rest and fellowship. However Pirates often seek more excitement from life than watching the grass grow.

Today is a great time for a mini adventure. A drive to the nearest lake or ocean, a short day trip to the mountians to hike. Even a trip to the biggest mall around you, even if you have to drive to a close larger city.

Your adventure could be that trip to a real running/walking store to finally get your gait analized and fitted for proper shoes. Even if you have had that done it;s a good idea to have it redone every few years. Your walking/running style changes as your muscles get stronger.

What ever you do make it a good memory, because you will never get the chance to live today over again so please don't waste it.

But if you are needing the rest, then rest with gusto, "YARC".
