If you have a "Whole Foods" supermarket nearby, check the ice cream section. In my town, they carry multiple "alternative" varieties such as gluten-free, dairy-free (which usually means milk protein but may also include alternatives to lactose...) :goodvibes

Have I mentioned a little something called Cows in Brownie Batter? :teeth:

Omg. With a line like that, you had better explain. :lmao:

I was referring to a trip we made to the Tillamook Cheese Factory in Oregon a few weeks ago...they had a new ice cream flavor that was vanilla with a brownie batter swirl and peanut butter filled chocolate cows. It was very good!!!

Well...you'll just have to fly out to the Pacific Northwest sometime and give it a try! Tillamook products are available in most of the states around here. They have a full line of dairy items and they're all really good.

Richardson's Ice Cream - Sold at Erickson's (and some flavors at Ziggy's) - Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Twirl........vanilla ice cream, chocolate chunks and a big ribbon of peanut butter going through it.......

DQ - Peanut Buster Parfait

Friendlys - Reece's Pieces Sundae - I have been eating this since it came out in the 80s.

Mindy - Growing up we got our milk @ the Peaceful Meadows on 18. Used to be a big M&M fan. Guess I will have to try out your suggestion next time I am down at Village Landing.

Lovely ice cream there. Did you try the squeaky cheese?

We were there a couple of years ago and spent ages watching the cheese cutting/packing line. It wasn't working properly and every so often a pack of cheese would get stuck causing a backlog of blocks and there'd be blocks of cheese going in all directions. The had someone stood by the bit of the line that had the problem - their job alternated between tedium (when there was no problem) and manic frantic activity to clear the blockage when there was a problem.

:) Chris

OMG, another DISer from Plymouth?!

A milkshake is a sad, watery little thing...a frappe has BODY.

Okay, regionalism.

Yes, a frappe is a thick milkshake, as defined by the rest of the world.

Malteds are SOOO hard to find these days, too.

And speaking of regionalism; up here a frappe is pronounced fraaap (that's one syllable, lots of short a's), not fra-pay. :surfweb:

My favorite at BnC

Brownie A La Mode (more brownie than the Fudge Mud Slide and $2 cheaper)

At home my favorite is Edy's Peppermint ( only available around Christmas) with DH's homeade Hot Fudge
