Good Morning Ladies:
Horseshowmom:
Criminy, all over a piece of equipment that was going to be used once in awhile-gheesh, some people.....................Better keep an eye on those busses, she might want to keep it at her house "Just in case"

(and as a close friend said, if something happens, it would have anyway, and this way the police are already involved).
Hopefully when Law Enforcement makes their presence known it will put a stop to any plans of pursuit he may have had.
Let us know what happens with the phone call, I have been sharing this story with my best friend and since we both have DD's we are taking notes for future reference. We read so often of people who are in situations like this and do nothing then are surprised when something occurs. Your DD is lucky to have proactive parents who are on the ball and she obviously knew who to call with her concerns. Good Job MOM!

True. I just didn't think doing this

would be in very good taste too early in the morning.
Doesn't bother me, I can dish it out with the best of them and I can take IT when I have too

The harrassment of the opponent is half the fun of having a Team to root for!

On Friday night, DH and I are working the concession stand at the football game for the lacrosse team. I'm a make the popcorn and fill the cups with soda girl - DO NOT ask me to handle change!!

I'm just the opposite. I'd rather handle the money!
I could put you both to work, how are your hot cocoa and nacho cheese skills?! (I was crowned the Queen

of Cocoa last year and I need a successor!)
Due to my "experience" I always open & prep the snack bar for every home game (Fridays: JV plays at 5 and Varsity plays at 7:30, I start at 3). Yep, I am a sucker and one of the few who has a flexible enough work schedule to handle it.
I then supervise and get the volunteers in their areas of comfort; some people cannot add in their heads, some are nacho cheese handicapped and some can't stop yaking long enough to fill a soda cup. I know all their issues and I have a schematic for who goes where.
Then I keep them stocked and get everything prepped for the chaos of Varsity to follow. Then I bail and go to the Varsity game where DH has been saving our seats in his "spot".
I return at the end of the night to make sure the clean up crew is there along with the clean up supervisor. Being the naughty Boosters that we are, we have a closing tradition (after all the non-booster "help" has left) and yes, of course, it involves alcohol!

One of our members gets some yummy apple something or other that is German I think, (a relative ships it to her) and we all have a small shot and toast the end of the evening. (Disclaimer: I am a huge no drinking/driving advocate - My DH does not drink and always drives home.) Remember, small town, we all know each other and socialize regularly, also we lock the concession door so we don't get caught
Our concession stand is the major source of income for our school wide booster program. We pull parents from anywhere we can get them to help out.
What you guys doing next Friday? It is a home game and I am short staffed!

People don't seem to "outgrow" their wild days of youth, do they? They seem to be perpetual adolescents.
Hey, Hey, Hey now!

I am a much wilder adult than I ever was a youth. I was little Miss. perfect (scaredy cat actually) and didn't have a wild youth - I am making up for lost time

Better late than never........

Starting to get some cooler fall weather right now. It feels good after it's been so hot around here.
Same here, this morning was downright crisp! The Reno balloon races are this weekend and there were a bunch out this morning for "Media Day"

He's got a date Friday night with a girl that he likes. I think he's trying to parlay this into a Homecoming date. Will let you know what happens.
He's planning ahead - good for him

DS made up with Miss. Bull Riding, 4 step-mothers, 11 siblings hoochie

I made some comment to the effect of "What, until a new bull comes along" I got the "Mommmmmm" and the glare that he has learned from me

I am really lucky, I work 5minutes from home and about a 2 minute drive to the high school, my boss is super supportive of my kid/school activities. I come into work at 7:15 and leave at 3:15 which gives me a lot of afternoon time.
My DH and my bestfriend who lives next door are both very supportive and take care of a lot of the peripheral stuff in my life during football season.
DH shops for the supplies I need for the snacks & meals I do, he keeps the laundry done and fills the dishwasher often.
My BF usually helps me chop, cut, spread, stir, package etc. whatever is needed as well as she gets my DD from school on Fridays and keeps her until I get home for away games. She has been known to help me with F-Ball camp and will deliver things from my fridge to the school for me. I also use her oven and fridge on occassion. Another friend gets my DD from school for home games since my BF and her DH come to our home games.
My housekeeper keeps the health dept. at bay, I use my Swiffer mop often and I bought those automatic shower cleaners to help her out!
My crockpot gets a workout this time of year and I stock up on a lot of the premade entries at Costco (pot roast, tri tip, carnitas, rotisserie chickens etc...)
My DH relieves me at DD's practices so I can head home and start dinner, or make phone calls or whatever it is I am doing if needed.
Saturdays are reserved for DD and her Softball games. We all attend incuding DS, unless he is working. In the Spring DS is an assistant coach on her team and for Fall Ball he only makes it to her games due to F-Ball.
Sundays are reserved for my jammies!
We make it work, sometimes it is pure chaos, but I love it. I might (okay, I DO) complain, whine, moan but I truly do love being at the helm of all this and will miss it when DS goes to college. Then it is back to the PTO at DD's school where all the "Newbies" are, they need lots of help! Oh, dear, I went to the meeting the other day........

..........Amazing what 13 years of volunteer involvement will teach you...............................My DH keeps saying, "Now dear, be patient, they are new and are not familiar with the proper (read: Melissa's) way of doing things" Have I told you girls that I am a little bit (just a smidge) of a control freak
Well, I gotta run. Have a great day ladies...............................
