Let the planning begin............yeah I do this that far in advance

Never to soon to plan, IMO. I was starting to try to plan Summer 2017 for my family when my DH and I decided to switch our 10th anniversary trip this August to WDW. 4 nights at the Poly now booked :) I am always more happy when I am planning something.
Our next trip, after Nov 2016, is planned for Sept 2017.

We won't move it to Aug, since our November trip is for our 25th anniversary.

It's never too early to plan lol. I've been planning for our Sep 2017 trip since Aug 2015.

I have a list of things I want to do, eat, and see as well as some choices of places to stay and our budget for expected/estimated costs. Every now and then I update the information as things are closed down and when new things are announced or prices change and of course the DIS is by far the place where I get the most up to date information.

I can't plan out what parks to go to on which day necessarily this early but I do plan on booking our resort stay right about 1 year in advance. I'm closely watching reviews on review sites, blogs and the DIS for the ever changing environment at WDW. Soonish I will get my family more involved in what they would like to do...they would freak out with all the stuff to plan if I tried to include them in too early.

We just booked our trip for Nov. 11th - Nov. 18th. 2016. I'll be celebrating my 40th on Nov. 12th.

We stay at Board Walk on rented DVC points during Food&Wine. All the Epcot resorts fill up quickly so we always book 11 months out. By the time we're back home and unpacked we have to pick dates, not that that's a bad thing.

As you can see in my signature, we're already forming our plan for September 2017!!! We've been back from WDW for a grand total of 9 days, and we have already discussed some ADRs we want to try. So plan away!

Very true............while this will be our first F&W festival, its also a family trip with my niece and nephew so.............the F&W won't be our concentration :( Because of this we rented points at the AKV..........savanna view 8-) It should be good fun............my wife and I'll will catch some Epcot time during the week..........I've heard weekends can be a bit busy.......and much more adult:-)

Sometimes, it is too early to plan. If you use DVC (Disney Vacation Club), you can't book your home resort more than 11 months in advance. Your home resort opens up to all DVC 7 months prior. So, we are always planning our vacations 7-11 months out.

You are right in that window.

Enjoy your trip.

Starting to plan out Dining. We've decided to low key it from a TS perspective. Looking for a TS in each park during our stay, this doesn't include Boma (which is in a resort...anyway) on arrival day.

Right now we have:

BOG or Crystal Palace for the MK. This is the most variable of all the parks because of the potential of the ABC Christmas show taping and MVMCP.
50's Primetime Café for lunch on HS day. We think the kids will get a kick of this one.
Coral Reef lunch for Epcot day. Again one for the younglings.
Tusker House on AK day. This could be breakfast on our departure day. This one of our favorite breakfasts!

Only 2 character meals in this plan........which is low for me, but we're trying to keep it reasonable. My wife and I may do a TS during our 4 park day but nothing in stone yet. All other meals we'll do QS in all parks but Epcot. In Epcot its F&W time so......we'll nosh as we go........which could be expensive.....we'll see o_O

Not too early to plan. I was full out planning out October trip by this time last yeqr and I've startd tenatively planning our November 2017 trip.

Never to early to plan. We are finalizing out may of '16 trip (fp) next week and we also booked our resort for January 17. So when I get back I start planning the next trip. We r trying to get the most out of our AP. Not sure when we will go back after Jan 2017

Ok......its been 5 months since I started this thread and I'm still making changes!

Todays update was about ADR's on Nov 11th......Christmas Party Night! :santa:. In my original post there was no specific restaurant selected for this day. The plan was to eat early (we setup a LTT ADR)............When Skippers Canteen started to allow ADR's we scooped one up for around 5pm. Now we're going with my niece and nephew, younglings who can be finicky :) My wife and I love Skippers Canteen, but its an eclectic place.

The other day my wife was reading about Disney Springs and came across some things about T-Rex! We started researching and for my niece and nephew this place will be a winner! It works in our overall plan in that we have the morning/early afternoon open.

Step one was to procure an ADR, for 6, 35 days after ADR DAY! For the past 4 days I've been checking periodically for ADR's.............yesterday morning I hooked an 11:45am! Went to process.............and it FAILED!>:( Went back on about 8 hours later.............got it again:-) Processed it and..............SUCCESS!:D I GOT IT!

Key element here was I had NOT cancelled the Skippers Canteen resi 8-) When updating ADR plans always get the new resi before cancelling the old. NOTE: if you're replacing a reservation MDE will force the cancellation. Because our update was a Lunch for a Dinner...........it didn't force it. So...........after I was sure I got the resi I was then able to cancel the replacement!

So..........what this means is the late morning/early afternoon, on Nov 11th, will be spent at Disney Springs. Now how to do that and get to the MK for the MVMCP by 4pm o_O

Just so you know, if you want a time other than 11:45 for T-rex, CALL the restaurant directly. They will have plenty of openings. The WDW Dine site holds only a small portion of the ressis.
