Specifically, the birds. Lauri and I are going to be grandparents!!
Last night I noticed that Whirly, one of our parakeets, was laying in the corner of the cage kind of weird. I looked closer and saw something odd next to her, so I called Lauri over to look. Sure enough, it's an egg.
It's only her first egg and her first clutch, so nothing may come from it, but we're going to keep an eye out for more. If there are and they look like they're fertile, then Whirly and the eggs will be moving to a separate cage with a nesting box.
Thing is, we also need to figure out which of the other birds (we have 7 parakeets and one cockatiel in the same cage
) is the daddy so we can move him over as well. Not going to have any deadbeat daddy birds in our house.
