When booking my August vacation today, I added the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan and inquired into adding the Wine option which we had when we went in Januaray. Because we booked with the Buy 4, Get 3 free, we were not allowed to add the Wine Option. Just wanted to let you folks know if you were considering such a thing.

Seems kinda weird I was openly willing to handover $200 and they refused it but whatever.

I agree; should be a totally separate thing.

I think you were mis informed also. Since you are actually paying for all 7 nights for the dining plan I don't see why they wouldn't let you add in the wine

I second what everyone else has said. We're booked with the 4/3 deal in May and the CM I spoke with when I booked offered me the Wine & Dine add on. We aren't interested in it for this trip, but it should be available on any package that the dining plans are available on.

We also asked to add the Wine and Dine plan but were also told no for the same reason that we took part in the 4/3 deal.

In fact we booked online and the option disappeared when we chose the 4/3 deal. We then called thinking it was a computer glitch and they said no, no wine and dine with the 4/3 deal.

Bummer.

that is so odd, I wonder if they are changing the wine and dine program? I didnt see that you saved any money with the wine offerings?? (please let me know if I am missing something!)

dh and I are wine drinkers - I have taken to buying bottles of wine to enjoy in our resort - $19 bottle for the Rosa Regale champagne (fruity red soft champagne!) in Italy is my favorite (it cost the same here at our wine store!)

I think the wines are overpriced, but I do enjoy a nice glass of wine with dinner - its just that often dh wants white - and I want red!!

Yeah when I online "quoted" myself I noticed the option wasn't there. I'm also curious as to what you folks do/how to go about bringing down your own booze. I had read someone said they had some shipped to their hotel but it but it has to come from a winery? What about what you put in your luggage?

I've always shipped booze to myself!! We enjoy an after dinner drink, either a cognac, or Sherry - and I've known to buy a $2 tupperware drink container and fill it with either vodka or rum and then when we use our refillable mugs, add a rum for a rum coke to drink by the pool - -

At Pop I even saw red and white wine for under $10 in the food court!

I used to ship champagne - but when I found the prices to be similiar and good wines for under $10 I didnt ship as much!! (I did 30# one year - it cost $30!!)

I know if you check your bags you can include liquids, just pack them well, and then put them in a huge ziplock in case it breaks or spills, it will be self contained!

Thanks so much for your help. I'm definately gonna pack some stuff. I'm gonna see about shipping wine however I don't want to break any laws.

We don't bother with shipping. We order beer, wine, and soda (we're Mt Dew people) from Wegoshop and have it delivered to us when we arrive. Cheaper than buying it onsite without the hassles of shipping or trying to figure out the rules for sending alcohol across state lines. ;)

How far in advance can you do this and they will really deliver booze?

We usually set up our delivery a week or so in advance, though it might be a good idea to plan a little further ahead if you're going during a very busy time because they'll only schedule so many deliveries for any given day. And yes, they really will deliver booze. You give them a shopping list, they bring your groceries to you, and you pay the receipt total plus a delivery fee and tip. If you're having alcohol delivered, be prepared to prove your age if you look young.

We are also booked on the 4/3 with deluxe and they won't let us add the wine package either. We have talked to several different CMs in the last 3 weeks and they all say the same thing.

A million thanks over. I just shared this information with my two bosses at work who are going in May (seperate trips). My big boss has three kids and this will come in handy I imagine. He was planning on taking a taxi to go grocery shopping.

I did read on the website about IDing for the booze, and thats fine. I am certainly of age but love to get carded :thumbsup2

Now to see if a few days will cut it over at wegoshop.com I arrive on Sunday :(
