:confused:I am trying to make my dining reservations for dec. and on certain dates I do not have many options? There is an opening for Chefs de France one night but I'm unsure if I would like it? I looked over the menu but want feedback from those who have eaten there. ANY INFO WILL HELP!!! Thanks!

My daughter and I eat there every trip. Love the french onion soup. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

My mother is very picky about French food and doesn't lile Les Chefs but I do so I made a compromise this year that instead of a dinner we are there for a Lunch so I can still get my Creme Brulee and French Onion soup. It is a very good restaurant in my mind though.

I'm going to say that it's just okay. We've eaten there four or five times over the years, with the last time in Dec. 09. We used to like it a lot, but candidly, I think the food has gone downhill quite a bit. There are four of us and no one loved their food...it wasn't bad, just nothing great.

We love it! Give it a try... I will tell you that part of the reason there is limited availibility is 1) Free Dining was extended and 2) candlelight processional dining pkgs ( will be released soon but right now are being held back)

This is a must do every trip. I love Chefs, I have to admit I like the apps and desserts soo much it makes it a must do. I also enjoy the couple of entrees I switch back and forth on. I have a lunch and a dinner ADR for our next trip.

The Tarte a la flamme Alsacienne is a flat bread with cream, bacon and onion, that is my favorite appetizer ( I crave this thing year round). I also like the french onion soup too as an appetizer.
My favorite entrees are Filet de boeuf grille and seared filet de boeuf grille, which are basically a beef tenderloins with different sauces, seasoning.

Desserts are the creme brulee ( you also can get this at the bakery behind the restaurant) and Profiterolles au Chocolat, which is like a really good pastry sundae.

Love it! We always go for lunch and do that $20 three course meal. It's a ton of food and the french onion soup and creme brulee are delicious!!

I was gonna ask about the three coruse meal in another thread...Since this is the first time I am doing Les Chefs for lunch that was adefinately was what caught my eye and was hoping it wasn't going to be cut down portions of their regular priced versions ont he menu. Sounds like it is not which I am pleased by.

We have dined there 5 times and the service and food are always great.

Since you said you have limited options and are unsure about Chefs de France. On August 6th you can make reservation for the new italy restaurant Via Napoli. also I am sure before your december trip the new mexican restaurant will be available to make ADRs as well. just something else to consider

I am also going to say that Les Chefs was just okay. My family ate there in November 2009 for lunch. I chose this restaurant for me. We already had several character meals planned for my children and i chose Jiko for my DH. I have to say I was a little dissapointed. It was the day before Thanksgiving and the restaurant was a little crowded and tables are very close together. The service was good but really slow because it was very busy. I have always loved french onion soup but found that Les Chefs was a little lacking in flavor and I have an extremely sensitive palate. My entree, the ham sandwich was not very tasty either. My children did really enjoy there chicken fingers and pasta. My daughter loved the bread that was served with our meals. It wasn't a bad experience. It was just my least favorite dining experience of the trip. But maybe it was a little spoiled my the terrential rain that day. I don't know. I have thought about giving it another try and ordering a different entree but i think this year i would like to try the new Mexican restaurant, if i can secure a reservation. I do think dining in the atmosphere of epcot is special.

One thing to keep in mind. If you do make a reservation for Les Chefs. You can always check with the concierge desk at your resort or at the parks' guest services to see if other restaurants you may want to eat at open up while you are in WDW. If so, then you could just cancel Les Chefs. We made several changes at AKL concierge desk when we determined we would not be able to get to our reservation on time or that we were just to tired to go. Kudos to the CMs at AKL. They were so wonderfully helpful.:cheer2: But, in the meantime, I would also keep checking online to see if reservations open up that you may want to eat at more.

We ate there last week, and we were unimpressed with the food and the service. I had the lobster bisque and it was too salty, IMO. The entree I chose had shrimp, scallops, and mahi mahi, and it was very bland. The creme brulee was just OK. Le Cellier's creme brulee was worlds better.

The server seemed very condescending, IMO. And he suggested "French Lemonade" for the kids, which was not really a kid drink (seltzer with a spritz of lemon), and was not covered on the dining plan.

OTOH, my husband had the escargot as an appetizer and purchased a glass of wine. He said that both of those were excellent.

I also second doing the prix fixe $20 lunch menu. You have your choice of one of 3 apps, one of 3 entrees & one of 3 desserts. We've done this twice & have never been disappointed. We have it booked again for October.

We usually eat once or twice at Les Chefs. The tenderloin is our favorite. If you go during Illuminations they will dim the lights.

I thought Chefs was a pretty poor meal. The service was not good, and the food tasted like it came from a frozen boxed dinner. This was nothing like the food I ate in France in terms of quality.

I'm pretty picky and was unsure of this, but I had heard good reviews and wanted to try it. I thought the only thing I would like would be the filet. We tried it and I did order the filet and thought it was very good. Not only that but I tried DH's short ribs and thought those were even better than the filet. I was very happy we gave it a try. :goodvibes

We love the theming and the service. The only disappointment for us has been the entree. The first time we went, 3 years ago, the entire meal was good. Last time we went, we ordered the steak with the potato gratin and it was not good. I think that maybe if you stick to something more French, it might be better. We both loved our appetizers of escargot and lobster bisque. The desserts are also very good.

We ate there for lunch last week and enjoyed it. I asked on this board for lunch suggestions at EPCOT and this one came with a lot of favorable comments. The French Onion soup was very good and the baguettes were fantastic. We also had a very cute waiter, a little hard to understand but his smile just made you want to nod and go along with whatever he was saying.
