length of stay stroller rental

We did it not based on the savings, but the fact that we did not have to wait in the long line each morning as we went into the park. That really made it worth it!!! :)

I did the single stroller for four days. It was $32. I saved $2 for each day and did not have to wait in the line just walk right up and put our name on the card. Not sure if the savings is mor for a double stroller but it was worth it to just pull out the ticket and have it stamped.

Could someone explain to me how this works? We have a family traveling with us next trip that wants to rent the WDW strollers each day.

When you arrive at the first park you plan to visit you will purchase a ticket for the number of days that you need. It does save you a few dollars to buy all the days at one time. You must keep that ticket--it is your only proof of payment. After that, each time you need a stroller you skip the payment line and go directly to the pick-up area and hand them your ticket and take a stroller.

Another idea is to go to a place like Walmart and purchase a cheap stroller($10-$15) and leave it behind when you go home. This way you will have a stroller when you are outside the parks as well.

:yay: :yay: :yay: Just had a brain wave you could give the stroller to another family before you leave and ask them to do the same with it (if it's still useable).

Heard in a passporter newsletter a little while ago that disney was looking at doing away with the long term rentals. They were concerned because people would complain that they paid for a stroller and there may not be any left later in the day at peak times. Does anyone know if they are still considering that?

I LOVE this idea! It's like the 'Sisterhood of the Traveling Stroller'... :thumbsup2

Just got off the phone with WDW and BUMMER! They have officially done away with the length of stay stroller rental. That really bugs me... I will be renting a double stroller for 7 days, and I will miss the slight discount (heaven forbid they can't squeeze a couple extra dollars outta me after I spend like $2000) and moreover the convenience of just showing my ticket and picking up a stroller. Now it will be even more of a hassle to have to stand in line and pay in cash each day.

Would love to bring my own stroller but DD is 4.5 years old and tall for her age, our own double stroller has broken twice, can't handle both kids. Plus we're driving down in a rental car and I can't spare the room for a huge stroller in the trunk along with all our junk!

Thanks for letting me vent! I need a hug now!

I feel your pain. I'm really choking on the cost of a double for just two days that we're going to be in WDW in June (well, we'll be there for 4 days...but only 2 of them full days). The double rentals used to be reasonable but now they're outrageous. What is it? $18 now? or is it only $16? Last time we rented a double it was $12.

We're taking our umbrella stroller for outside the parks, but renting a double in the parks on our full days. My older dd is 6yo...but won't be able to handle the walking. We'll most likely park our umbrella stroller when we get our rental or just fold it and carry it on top.

I've thought of bringing my own umbrella stroller. Do you hear of strollers getting stolen very often?

Have you thought of buying a stroller online and having it delivered to your hotel?

Very seldom do people get their strollers stolen. It's not something I would even give a second thought to.

You should attach something colourful to identify yours from everyone elses. I've even heard of people attaching a small bag with garbage in it. That makes it less attractive to others I would guess. Never leave anything of any value in your stroller unattended.

I've been taking our Maclaren to WDW since 2000....we still have it. While I've heard of strollers being stolen, I don't think its a huge problem and I think there are plenty of folks who think their stroller has been stolen when its simply been moved or they're having a hard time finding it. Our stroller isn't all that common and sometimes its still hard to find.

The one place where stroller theft seems to actually be a real problem is outside Rainforest Cafe at DTD....though we've parked our stroller there and it didn't walk away (granted, it was pouring that night!). If you think about it....DTD has free parking, no admission charge and it would be really easy for a unscrupulous person to grab a stroller and sell it at a local consignment shop for some quick cash (which is what I've heard typically happens). Plus the owners of the stroller are inside and not likely to see someone taking it.

DH and I have discussed it and think we might buy a jogging stroller with a swivel front wheel (easier to steer), has a total weight capacity of 100#, which would meet our needs and cost us less than $60 buck more than the one week rental at WDW. I was wondering about stroller theft, thanks for the info!

I was just at Disney May 10-14 and they still had the multi day rental. They must of done away with it this week? We rented a single, its $10 a day or it was $8 a day when you bought the package. It was worth it for us not to worry about lugging one around. If I had to buy a double one, I would probably buy 2 umbrella strollers and bring them from home. It would be much cheaper.

Called WDW with yet another question, and restated my length of stay rental question. This time, I was told that the length of stay rental was still in the computer and therefore should still be active in the parks. I will be going in late September, maybe it will be around a while for you guys! Hope so! :wizard:

Thanks so much for explaining this. I hope they don't do away with it. We have a few months before our trip starts. Can someone tell me if the length of stay rental can be used for hard ticket events like the MNSSHP or do you have to pay extra for renting a stroller on these evenings? Also (sorry) are you guaranteed a stroller will be at the park after you pay the first day?

can you skip a day or is it only for consecutive days. I need a double for sat -thurs( not on Fri) then again on Sat.
