I've only been on one Disney Cruise and it was booked last minute so I was the last for boarding. This time around I booked over a year in advance. Typically how long does each boarding group have before the next one is called? We are group 5 for this cruise so I'm curious how long I'll be in the terminal if I have an 11:15 PAT and boarding starts around 11:45.

It can vary. Generally, they call numbers rather quickly. For our cruise on the Wish three weeks ago, boarding group 2 was called a minute or two after group 1, then groups 3 through 6 had maybe five minutes in between, if that. We were group 6 and boarded just a little after noon.

Definitely depends on how fast people move and if they stop for the pictures.

For our fantasy sailing in July the first 5 groups (we were 6) took about 40 minutes from start of boarding. Next 8 groups took less than the next 40 minutes (from our friends who had a later boarding time). Then it was basically opened up to all groups after that.

Like everyone else has said, it goes pretty fast when you're in the lower numbers. But, depending on capacity and whether or not people are stopping for pictures, you might get lucky if you loiter near the entrance of the line. On my last cruise, the cast member waved me over and had us board a few groups early. No one said anything as we went through and so we ended up starting our vacation that much earlier.

They have it set up now where you can bypass the picture area if you don't want any. So you don't have to wait behind picture people nor do they congest the gangway since the picture spot is now inside the terminal.

Our boarding number for the Dream was 6. They called 1-3
from 11:15-1130, 4-6 from 11:30-11:45.
