Lego Mystery Mini Figures are at Target! (Update: Series 4)

If you have a Lego store near you, they have them there for $1.99 each and they are also available online at Lego.com if you go to By Category / Indidividual Bricks & Building Accessings / Building Accessories / Minifigures.

Thanks for the Lego.com information! I was able to order 16 of them (the max. they will let you) for $42.xx shipped.

My son loves Legos, and collects the minifigs, so this may be one present down for the holidays!

As a FYI rather than feeling up the items on this series there is a 2nd bar code on the package. The big square bar code is the one they use to ring them in and can't be used for identification purposes, but the shorter rectangle bar code has a different set of stripes towards the end. Here is a link to print of the bar codes if your interested in hunting (or at least checking to make sure you don't have several of the same ones) :goodvibes

And for those really searching, the Spartan seems to be the hardest one to come by.

:cool1: Thank-you!

My girls like the Lego mini-figures. I bought two packages but didn't buy any more because I didn't want to end up with a lot of duplicates. Now I don't have to worry about that!

We were just at the Lego store and they still had a couple of these. I was talking to the guy who worked there, and he said that Lego wasn't going to put the identifying bar codes on the next batch because of the cheat sheets! :confused3 I'm not sure why it would matter to Lego, and the intel might not be accurate, but there you go.

FWIW, my guys both ended up with the same thing in their bags!

There was a woman at Target yesterday and she was able to actually scan the bar code in her phone and it will tell her which figure it was. She said her boy collects them and he was desperate to get the Lifeguard one.

The intel is accurate, for sets beyond #2 they are claiming no more identifiers will be on them. :sad2: It's mainly to prevent the select few who buy them in bulk to sell the hard to get ones for huge profits through collector sites and online auctions sites. The point of the figured were supposed to be an inexpensive fun way for customers to collect unique minifigures (outside of large sets). Unfortunately they didn't expect the huge demand (or resale potential) on them so are trying to find a way to bring it back around to it's original intent. So many of us collectors have told them if they just released a special 16pack (1 of each) and even mark it at a premium vs guessing we'd be all over it. Anyhow the Lego store employees are pretty remarkable about being able to feel up the bags to identify the contents, so if your near a store they can help you hunt for specific ones if you ask nicely. :thumbsup2

And just for fun I want to guess on your duplicates... I would think either disco stu, traffic cop, or the surfer?

I tried again, they haven't been put out at mine, and I am pretty sure I saw the label for $3.99. BLAH.

Does anyone know if they have them at Downtown Disney lego store? We will be there in a couple of weeks and this would be great to pick up.

I couldn't find them on Lego.com

Do you have a direct link ?

very cool! Thanks!! I think i'm going to have to make a Target run today!

They had them in 3 separate areas there when we were in on 8/30. I had a long chat with one of the managers on duty (as well as with 2 of my local lego stores) and overall it seems that the DTD Lego shop gets way more inventory in a shipment (at least of these) than my local lego stores. DTD limits the purchase to 16 per person with you, so for our family of 5 we could have purchased up to 80 :scared1: , we picked up 12. :thumbsup2

If you are heading to DTD I would def check in (and ask) to see if they have them. If your not planning on DTD but making a special trip for them I would call ahead because inventory comes and goes on a daily basis.

FYI, I was at my Target two days ago and they were wiped out. The tag on the shelf said $1.99. The manager even scanned it for me to see if there were any more. Next to it was a $2.99 tag for the Atlantis and the other ones, the mini packs.

Today I went back to the SAME Target. The Atlantis mini packs are no where to be found, the tag on the shelf is gone. The tag for the figure packs is now $2.99!!!

I was not happy to see that. Although I still picked up a few, figured I could always return them if I was able to find them at another Target for $1.99.

Hmmm...wonder if we should get a trade list going? We have some extra surfers and would love a vamp. We were excited to get "the taco guy" though!

well thanks for making me go out and spend money !!! Geez ! I'm glad this wasn't on the budget board.....

Got all but 2.... Weightlifter, and surfer... have 4 doubles, pharaoh, hombre, witch, and jungle explorer.

Checked my packages again this morning and realized I do have the mime.

Found some last night at our Target in the Halloween Section. $2.99. Grabbed 5. Had one dupe. I am going to print out the UPC codes from the earlier post and see if that helps.

Thanks again!
