Legit Secret Shoppers Websites???

I have been trying to earn some extra $$$ for our upcoming trip by signing up with every possible survey company and so far, have only made $12.00 - this is over a course of an entire year.

My co-worker had signed me up on some website that would e-mail us when survey companies had 'taste' tests and I made about $100.00 - I remember that one paid $50 + $5 for parking and it was about music and the other paid about $45 or $50 and it was about soft drinks. Unfortunately, I cannot remember what website that was but was hoping to make some extra cash by finding out any info DISers may have on this issue.

Does anyone know of such a website or does anyone know of legitimate secret shopper companies that will pay you for your time - all I have found on the internet are companies that will charge your credit card to place your name on some list and I am not about to do that - anyone have any helpful info for those of us trying to make some extra $$$? Thanks!!

I do secret shopping for shop n chek. I have done it for so long I dont remember how to sign up for it but they have a company website at www.shopnchek.com

I used to shop for this company http://www.secretshopnet.com/. They paid approx. 7.00 and hour and each job is about an hour. Plus expenses. At the end of the month they add bonus to the jobs they have left. Thats were you make the money. I've worked some jobs with 20.00 bonus and have seen bonuse up to 75.00 additional.

Never pay a company to Shop, ever. Go to www.volition.com. They have lists of companies to sign up for, and message boards with more advice on mystery shopping then you can imagine.

I recently signed up through SecretShopper.com for their $5 for 1 month trial deal. I am getting many e-mails each day for potential shops and have already completed 2 shops. It is easy work, but the reports are time consuming. My DH is cautious of me spending money and getting reimbursed. He feels like I should just take job that are paid, not paid & reimbursed. Any comments?

How many companies does the typical secret shopper work for? I am getting e-mails for MANY companies and am thinking 3 or 4 is more than enough. Any comments?

Overall, I see secret shopping as a fun was to earn a little bit of extra money.

Thanks for all the great info; I joined all of the websites listed. Last night, I signed up for http://www.mysteryshop.org/searchmspanav.php and found that there were some jobs in my town so I e-mailed them and received a phone message from them last night. They asked me to call b/w 8:30 am and 5:30 pm to give them some additional information about myself and they would tell me about the job. Is it normal that I would receive a response this soon?
Make me think that perhaps I shouldn't call - anyone have any experiences with this company?

You didn't leave a company name, so I am not sure which one called you. You were at a good website though. MSPA org is a good place to find companies. If you want feed back on companies go to www.volition.com and look at their forums. I am sure you will find info on the company. And yes, if the company needs shoppers in your area they can call that quickly. Just remember this isn't easy like taking a survey. Mystery Shopping is work. You need to keep track of lots of info, names, descriptions and exactly what happened on your shops.
