Legacy tiles at epcot.

With picture the cost was 50 dollars in 2002. They send you a copy of photo and coordinates of where to find your tile if you return. They also emphatically state that it will only be kept there 20 years.

The cost is $35 for one image per tile, $38 for two images per tile, plus tax

What exactly does this mean?

Our family is the two adults and four small children. Can 6 people be one image? Or is one image - one person?

We had this done as part of our Disney Land and Sea Package in May 2005. We did an image of our kids. Not sure what the cost was as it was part of our package. We went back in Nov. 2005 during Jersey Week and got to see it and were thrilled with it!!! The boys are very proud to be a PART of Epcot LOL.

My Inlaws and my Niece's also had theirs done as well and we are all right near each other so I took a picture of it to share it with them as they weren't with us during Jersey Week.

i think it's up to two people per tile, so 6 people would need three tiles. maybe the person who paid $50 a few years ago bought an image AND a text tile next to each other. the tiles i have only have our images, no names. the first time in 2004 it was a free option with the package we were on. in 2005 we paid, but i'm SURE i didn't pay $50!

The first year they offered it my Mom and I purchased a tile with both of us together. For many trips after that we would stop and see it. On 7/9/2000 my mom passed away at the very young age of 65. On the very next trip I took 12/20/2000 I stoped to look at the tile and noticed that my etching was very much the same but Mom's had faded almost like she wasn't with me in the picture. You can still make her out just not as dark as mine is. I was engaged at WDW 12/2004 and we spent our honeymoon in Disneyland. We are leaving for wdw in 6 week for a 2 week stay and I have decided me and my dh will have one done for us.....that is of course after we visit my mom.

we got ours done the first year it was offered around Christmas time.
It is so funny to go back now and find it because I was probably 9 years old and now I am almost 18 and it makes me laugh to see myself that long ago like that and my friends who I bring with me love it :lmao: I should probably get a new one perhpas wearing my cap & gown! lol just kidding!

DH and I did one during our honeymoon.

Also when DH, DS and I took my mom to celebrate her birthday. But I don't have a good picture of it since it's quite high.

We were there in May of 2000 and I did one for my 2 kids. We are going back this summer. We never received anything in the mail telling us the location or what they looked like. Is there a way to find them without spending the whole day looking?

We just did ours when were there at Christmas, we did (3) tiles, me and the husband, our two children and a message but I wish I would have done it when we were there in "2000". Better late than never, I can't wait to go back in 2008 and see it :)
It was my understanding that they are doing it until 2020, but curious if they do move the monuments I wonder where they would put them?

You can now order a copy of your etching on black marble. I got mine of the kids a couple of weeks ago and it is really pretty. The prices start at $60 for etiher 4 coasters or 1 5x7. I opted for the coasters so each kid could have one as well as the grandparents. It is a beautiful keepsake.

When you enter into Epcot's main gate, on the right hand side close to the tallest monuments there is a Leave a Legacy kiosk. Go there, give them your name and state and they will look up your image.

In the event that the image they direct you to is not yours (this happened to FIL) then go back to the kiosk and ask them to have someone in back check the main computer. If Tony is available in the back, get him, he is very knowledgeable and helpful, he found my missing FIL's image that was also done in 2000. Per Tony, the computer out front is not as accurate as the one in back.

While you are there ask them to send you your negative, (I just got FIL's) the other day. It is a silver envelope along with the negative of your etching and the location of your etching.

While there make sure they have a current address.

Have fun.......

I would maybe be interested in having that done. How did you get that? Thanks for the tip.

Thanks for the help. I will do that. It will be neat to see what the kids looked like 7 years ago at WDW.

They sell them at the aboe referenced kiosk. They ship from an engraving company in Maine and even tho WDW told me 4-6 weeks I got them in about 2. My first order had the wrong year on it, I wanted 2000 to coincide with when the etching was done and instead they said 2007. I called the engraving place directly and without any issue they redid them and I had the corrected etchings in my hands in about a week. Not bad from Maine to here in that time frame.

My husband and I did one of these last April on our honeymoon. Can you get old ones on the coasters? I would love to do this as a gift? If you can what do you have to do? Can I call and order it or do I have to wait till we go again (we are going in december)

You could try calling

My LAL Tile was originally purchased in the early days of 2000 and I just ordered it on the coasters in January. I had them etch 2000 on the bottom left of the coaster, they are really nice. I will give each of the kids one when they move out, I framed one for our wall at home and I sent the 4th coaster to the grandparents.

ok thanks for the info. I wonder if I could call them and order one I am making a gift basket for my husband for his bday in december we are celebrating at Disney World and I think that would be really neat to include with it.

Here is a number for Leave a Legacy - not sure they can help but they can hopefully point you in the right direction. 407-560-7235

Good luck and let me know if phone order works, I may order Father-In-Laws as a gift.
