LeCellier or Chefs de France?

We like both, but if I had to choose, it would be Le Cellier. It is the only restaurant that DH insisted we go to twice during our upcoming trip.

Based on my past serveral experiences with both restaurants, I'd recommend Chefs de France. Each meal there, whether it is lunch or dinner, is an incredible experience, with incredible food and a great atmosphere. By comparison, my experiences at Le Cellier have been pretty mediocre, being served dry, gristly steaks both times (talk about bad luck eh?) and feeling cramped and crowded in that small, dank dining room.

A couple of weeks ago I cancelled dinner at Le Cellier in order to get Chefs de France for our Sept trip. The CM asked me twice if I was sure I wanted to cancell Le Cellier as it seems to be the toughest ADR to get right now. I've eaten at Le Cellier several times however and decided to try Chefs de France. Hope I'm not sorry!

We love both. These 2 are both in our top 5.
But Le Cellier just slightly beats out Chefs

Chef's de France by far. It is much better for dinner than lunch. That's probably the only restaurant in Epcot I would say that for. Do Le Cellier for lunch.

we like Chef de france better. The rest is up scale the cellier is a cellier.  party: party: party:

Have to agree with dizfan - on our trip before last, DBF loved LeCellier and that was his only request when planning our last trip earlier this year. I made the ADRs for LeCellier (dinner) and also for Chefs de France (dinner).

DBF was disappointed that LeCellier wasn't as good as he remembered it (I thought it was good, but not great like last time, too). On our last night, we had dinner at Chefs de France and could not belive how good it was. I asked him if he thought it was good because he had low expectations or because it was truly good food and he replied the food was truly good, better than the French restaurant we go to at home.

You guessed it - for our next trip (fall 07), his only request is dinner at Chefs de France... :rotfl: :rotfl:

As for specific reasons why...we both thought the food preparation and presentation at LeCellier has slipped. The food seemed to be "thrown" on the plate instead of placed and it was sloppier (drips on the side of the plate, etc). Also, because of the "it place" status LeCellier now has, it's more crowded and the attention from the servers was less than before and our courses all overlapped.

We knew that Chefs de France would be crowded and "cozy" in keeping with French bistro tradition, so that didn't bother us. Had we not known, however, it could've been a different story for DBF (likes his space). The food was excellent, the bread was warm and fresh, the servers were extremely attentive and knowledgable, and we weren't rushed.

Le Cellier - always love eating there. We thought the servers at Chefs de France were rude and the food was mediocre at best. I know others have had better experiences, but we've given Chefs 2 tries now, and won't be going back a 3rd time.
Cheers!

Le Cellier! We had a wonderful dinner at Le Cellier last year. Our server is wonderful and we are allowed to have two non-alcoholic beverages. I even ordered milkshakes! (hope it didn't change!)

We have ADRs for both restaurants for our upcoming trip. DBf says he wants the lobster @ Le Cellier and the Duck @ Chef De France. :woohoo:

We've never tried Chefs, but we had such a good meal at Le Cellier on July 10 that we want to go back there before we try anything else! It was the best meal we had the entire week. The steaks were tender and cooked as ordered (medium rare), the service was great, and we liked the dark COOL atmosphere. DD12 had a (non-alcoholic) frozen berry daiquiri and enjoyed it so much she asked for a second. DH raved about the Prince Edward Island Mussels, which the server claimed were flown in fresh daily. I liked it so much I asked for a copy of the menu as a souvenir!

Our preference would be Chefs de France. We've dined there many times and enjoyed the experience every single time. I even took two friends and my grandmother there on a recent trip and they all loved it as well. The food is always first rate and they have some of the best wines. A dear friend of ours even ordered a french beer on our last trip together and he loved that as well.

The last time we were to Le Cellier, we waited over an hour past our ADR time to be seated and the food wasn't all that great. In all fairness, we'll be going back to Le Cellier on our trip in November, just to see if things have improved. If we have a similar experience to last time, I'm sure we'll never go there again. There are just too many other restaurants on Disney property that we enjoy. ::MinnieMo

We've been to both, and the ambiance at Chefs de France can't be beat, especially if you are going for a romantic dinner. I loved the great wine, french bread, and desserts. Le Cellier had great food too, but a very different atmosphere. Either way you can't go wrong. :thumbsup2

I prefer Le Cellier to Chefs de France. I enjoyed the food and the service at Le Cellier more.

We are trying Chef de france for the first time in DEC.

Le Cellier is my hubby's fav and my 2nd fav, so I recommend this one. We just ate at Chefs de France a few days ago (haven't had time for a review yet), suffice it to say, it was our worst meal! My hubby's steak was dry as heck (not medium, but well done), my daughter's deep fried, cold, chicken ? were nasty - I say ?, because they were supposed to be chicken strips, but were more like chicken parts. My lamb dish was very good, but service was poor - melted ice cream, no drinks refilled and cold food.

We will never go here again as we feel it's totally overrated, Tiger
