Leaving this week and have two questions

I know, basic questions

We are DVC members that own at SSR but we are staying at OKW this time.

1). Can we pool hop to SSR?
2). Are refillable mugs back in service?

They have a cast member who will give you a regular cup at the refill stations. They still sell the cups it’s just not self service, into the actual refillable mug. They are trying to keep it as sanitary as possible.

Not sure about pool hopping as I never do it.

So do you have to show a mug or are they just handing cups to anyone? If the latter why would anyone buy cups? Is the same with coffee in the morning?

You have to show your mug to get a refill in a paper cup.

It's my understanding that pool hopping has been suspended. I haven't actually tried, but that's what the front desk told us at Old Key West. While we technically have access to pool hopping perks, due to the pandemic restrictions, they aren't allowing it....though to be honest we had friends come over and join us at the pool at OKW and no one checked.

I haven't seen anything formally prohibiting pool hopping other than resort pools have been hitting capacity due to the restrictions and many have had waits for hotel guests which would mean they wouldn't allow pool hopping. So, it'd be a risk to try and get to SSR and potentially turned away.

The current mug process is pretty slick - just show your mug and get your drink in a disposable cup by a cast member. It was nice not having to clean out the mug ever.

In terms of the mug, ask the policy as each resort is different. In January, CMs at BLT allowed us to show a picture of the mug. At BWV, they required the mug.

I was there from 3/22-3/27. Everywhere I went took a photo of me with my mug: Poly, Contemporary, Grand Floridian, Riviera, and Boardwalk. It was great. Made getting a drink incredibly easy. Fingers crossed for putting the “mug” on my Disney Experience for access by phone or magic band.
